Same radio, same problem. Solution: connect the radio on the contact key that when you remove the key it cuts off the power to the radio.

You can install a kill switch in the dash with that fuse then to avoid going back and forth and opening the hood..😮 good job..

Realy, your solution is to remove the fuse.. connect the fuze to the other port, where you only have power on key on.

Same problem on Vw passat 2007 2.0 tdi automatic this problem started when swap with a new radio than i put back the original one but the problem stayed the same but not right away after 6-10 months started to drain again.

This problem always occurs when you use after market stereo but one thing you can try use original vw golf canbus in aftermarket stereo then your radio fully switched off when your ignition is off. Good luck
