Part 2! Where are we going? We are going to the "future" of The Villages. Come with us as we tour The Villages from Lake Sumter to the "future" of The Villages. Over a 5 part series of golf cart rides we will work our way south from the established areas of The Villages, through the areas that are currently under construction, and ending at the land that is yet to be developed..... The future!
In this episode we travel from the Walmart Neighborhood market to The Rohan Regional Recreation center, touring and telling a few stories along the way.

I think it's always interesting to hear how people discovered The Villages and how long did it take to decide to move to The Villages and did you consider any other 55+ communities.

Another great video. The map you post in the corner helps to figure out where you are and where you are going. I can tell there are posted signs telling you which way to go when you are near/in the tunnels. Are there signs stating which way to go when you get to the cross roads or driving by/through the neighborhoods? I would get lost at those parts of the path if I was driving. you make it look so easy. Your camera position is great, makes it feel like I am in the passenger seat.

I haven't noticed signs in the neighborhoods (on roadway) for golf cart directions, but don't be intimidated. It is much easier than it appears. After you drive a route a couple of times you will be able to get to places without directions. Thanks for watching!

The floating balls don’t go as far as a regular ball you should club up by 2 clubs to get it to the greens.

I am really looking forward to No. 3... Chitty Chatty and my place :-) Which will be the new centre of the villages. Circa 6 miles to Lake Sumter, 6 miles to Brownwood, and 4/5 miles to the new town square to be built I guess in around 5 years.

If you haven't cut the video yet don't forget that there are walking paths not accessible to golf carts that pass along the Chitty Chatty preserve. Try to catch a shot of the Turkeys, alligators, cranes, and our resident armadillo.

Where can I find the resident armadillo?

@@ExploringTheVillagesFlorida he’s seen wondering around the villages from time to time. I think he comes out of the Preserve. Same with the flock of wild turkeys, apparently one is not very bright... he runs up and down the preserve fence while the others fly over it.... eventually he gets the idea... he may the same one that squarks at peoples lanais!!! Residents have also reported seeing hogs near the preserve fence. I guess its all pot luck what’s out and about, but we are hopeful that as the builders leave the village so more wildlife will come. You may want to do some research on the 2nd phase at Chitty Chatty - the Tye Villa’s. Plans have been released for lot sizes/layouts and Don’s construction update shows a temporary entrance to site. I guess in the next couple of weeks we’ll see what type of homes are being constructed.

Thanks for the video. A couple of questions for you. What dash cam are you using? And is the satellite image from Google Earth incorporated into the dash cam? Or is that edited in? Thanks!

We are using GoPro cameras for the dash cam and to collect GPS data. The Google Earth window is built separately with the collected GPS data. Its a fairly long process so we don't always do it unless it adds value to the video. Just building telemetry and google maps can take 12 hours or more.

In your opinion, what is the best navigation app to use while exploring the villages. It seems it would be easy to get lost.

The only app we have used was the "Villages Villages app". But, we don't use it often. It's more fun to learn our way around by trial and error! Thanks for watching!

Cane Garden country club I think has the best food or it used to.

Cane Garden used to serve great meatloaf made with Italian sausage in it. I will be back visiting The Villages in July. I will have to see if it's still on their menu.
