My truck got broken into and they stole my wallet and 2 of my guns. Thankfully my dash cam caught the interior view and I was able to get the whole thing and he was showing his face completely. They also got his car’s license plates from the car wash where he tried to swipe my cards at 2 am (idk why of all things he tried using a car wash) and they ended up arresting him 4 days later and didn’t come out for 6 months since he couldn’t afford bail with about 12 charges he racked up just from my break in. He kept whining to the police that he never did anything, it wasn’t him, and that they can’t do their job right because they had the wrong guy. I ended up on a zoom court meeting and I showed the footage of his face in my truck and now he owes me about $5k in damages or my stuff back, which he got rid of a long time ago 😂

I own the 2017 GTI Clubsport myself (with same engine, turbo & power). And iv pushed it alot harder, but always warmed up first (also got engine heater at winter :)

Those potholes won't do damage to any car. Cars are designed to withstand much bigger potholes than those. that's why bump stops exist, even if the suspension bottoms out (which it didn't in this case) there's no damage. Generally the suspension will never get damaged before the tires pop or the wheels shatter, the worst that can happen is you will get your wheels out of alignment. You could literally hit a 10 cm high curb at 70-80 km/h head on and the suspension won't be damaged, you'll just pop the tire and maybe damage the rims. In fact that's what cars have to be able to withstand for safety standards. VW tests them at above 100 km/h against standard road-side curbs in Europe. It takes far more to damage the suspension than people think.

Derbigpr500 You clearly don't understand Suspension and this car. I work on cars as a hobby. Your suspension is held on by a few bolts and boots. When it degrades the suspension will start giving problems. His driving on a dirt road with huge potholes and rocks. VW also test them on Test Tracks not normal roads. They also don't test the suspension with potholes to see when it gives in. This golf is 4 motion so the back wheels can get damaged as well. The wheel allightment/Camber will only go out of setting when you hit a huge bump/pothole. That's not the only thing that can go wrong. VW has al their fuel filters/fuel lines/Brake lines exposed under the car. Any rocks can cut through the pipes. This is a city car, Not a offroad. City summer tires as well not offroad. So everything is on the suspension.
