the setup portion of this finally tied my swing back together. my game has been a mess for 18 months and this tip finally gets me in the right spot to implement all the stuff I've been working on

This was in interesting video... I like to take my setup with shaft lean... but I thought it was wrong so I've been working to correct it and take setup with a more vertical iron setup. This was good to confirm that it's ok to setup with shaft lean. I find it helps me hit that sweet spot and get good compression.

Wish Sam was still posting videos. After suffering from a back injury, the S2S swing allowed me to come back to the game I love and in fact, shoot lower scores with less wear on my body. Handicap went from a regular 10-11 to an 8.6.

Hitting the ball consistently nothing else matters, how true. My biggest issue. I practice swing at least twice before striking the ball so that I’m compressing the ball In thought, then I hit the shot, it does help me. Hitting off a mat vs uneven lies, feet and ball is also a point that I struggle with. Fundamentals that you’re teaching is really great. Course play is a different ball game. Thanks Eric this is great information.

ive been trying this S2S method and even enrolled in Sam's site. I have to say it is quite effective. I took a stroke off my hcap from 5.2 to 4.1 in about 2 mos. The big difference will be the ball flight - for some reason, my tendencies are now more on a draw whereas before I was a fader of the ball. I can probably take another stroke off if I can get used to aligning more right of the target.

Just went to the range right after watching this video and my swing is forever changed. I have never hit the ball so pure. I have been trying to get shaft lean and get rid of my high ball flight. Just from watching this video, it was night and day. I even have a draw now.

Sam’s approach seems similar to the Stack and Tilt approach you reviewed with Tom like a year ago. It could be a take on it vs exact. Do I understand this correctly from how it looks visually. Thanks for showing these different approaches as not all golfers are the same!

Thanks! Not sure....just a great way to keep face square to path and hit the ball solid. Can call that whatever we want I suppose :)

Hey Eric. Great video. I have a Mnml golf bag from Sam, it's awesome. Highly recommend. What is your opinion on hovering the golf club at address for irons and driver? Should it be touching the ground or elevated? I've always rested my club on the ground behind the ball but it seems like the best thing to do would be to slightly hover to simulate the contact position and ball first contact.

Great video. I did this exact process for awhile and loved it. My instructors however didn’t really liked it that much and told me to stop, wish I never did. I hit it at least 15/20 yards further per club. I did however notice after awhile that I started to snaphook it (while I came from a slice) especially on my long irons and up. When I went back to what my instructors told me the slice slowly started to make his way back. How should this be different with woods on and off the tee, or should this process be the same? Thanks in advance!

Hey Ramon...good question and I don't think the answer is the same for everyone. I would really need to see YOUR swing to say for sure what YOU need to do with the longer clubs. Take advantage to free 14 day trial to www.cogornogolf.com and send me in your swings!

I've been using similar technique prior to the video, thanks for the content! But I tend to pull hook a lot and the ball flight too low (Sub 20 yards), any good recommendations?
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like face too closed/not enough loft I would need to see swing to say why....could be grip too strong, face too closed at setup, wrist angles, etc

I assume you mean setting the third or fourth groove up from the sole (not down from the top edge) AND that those grooves are level with the equator, i.e. half way up, of the ball. Is that correct?

It looks like Sam's bsw sequence is P1-P6 rather than P1-P2 and s2s swing is more flat under shoulder line withoutvany hinging of wrist, lifting of arms.

I love this simple approach. You just need to be mindful about making some adjustments to this set up for pitch shots and understanding how a lack of purposeful active wrist movement in the back swing may change your approach to short game (see how Bryson pitches)
