The appam you get in Kerala is different from what you had there. In the Kerala appam you don't add any dal it is made just with raw rice and coconut and for fermentation you either add yeast or toddy. It is best tasted with veg or non veg stew or black channa curry or veg kuruma.

Hi Pooja, you can try more dishes in dombivli. You can try following items 1. Chaat in Dwarkadhish Dombivli east specially pani puri & shev puri 2. Pav Bhaji in hotel Dwarka Dombivli west 3. Batata Vada near Patkar school rajaji path 4. Food item for fast(upvas) in Deepak snacks corner, Bhanu nagar near saraswat bank.

Aapam is not made with lentils at all!! It is made with a mixture of raw rice, a ladle full of cooked rice or a katori of soaked poha & yeast when the fermented batter is mixed the next day. This is the authentic aapam made in Kerala!!
