The last time Gonz and Natas were in the same place it was the Sacto Street Style Contest in 1986. Sure, that's not entirely true, but guess who got them together again after 27 years? That’s right-we did. And guess what that makes us? Right again-legendary super-champs from the planet Smokemypole. yeah rodney was the one who really paved the way for street, he invented all the tricks needed for street skating to work. mark and natas could be said to the be the people who pushed street skating out and made it a big thing though.

I come from the Variflex, Nash, and Valterra days. Soon after I discovered G&S and Vision. Glory days of skateboarding!

So grateful for the back to the future movie. Got my first...the blue version of the "Splatter" Valtera marty mcfly road. Then discovered Vision and P&P...got the Vision Gator board (Mark Gator Ragowski (sp?). Had McGill...then i think Blind and some others before taking a 20 year hiatus and my Gonz board was run over by 2 trixies as they laughed. Now on a 151 i bought used and skating with my neices and nephew.

How nice to see. 180 to switch 180 is such a great looking combo. Nostalgia is so intoxicating especially in skateboarding. Which for such a short time has a very rich history.

You guys are still at it, I first met you guys in Houston in 85 or 86. When I got sponsored in 88 I met you guys again in CA. 2013 in CA and Mark and Natas remembered me.

My last board was a Guerro with a dagger in flames and a white background. We called ourselves the Boneheads...about seven of us. We lived in misawa, Japan and skated EVERY day. Those were some of the best years of my life. THANKS skate board GODS

I didn't think Natas Kaupas skated anymore. He was ascending walls in 1987. At some point I assumed he pulled his legs up defying gravity and just cruised around like a floating human being. Watch this video carefully. I'm not sure, but I think he might be slightly levitating.

Variflex connections, C32's and a C&D flat deck was my first set up, it was about a year before the Bevel, and concave showed up.

I used to be a bouncer at a shi-shi club in NYC. I met so many famous people. I didn't give a what. But I would seriously shit to be in the same room as these two at the same time. I could feel the fucking energy coming through my damn cell phone. I can't imagine what it was like. Like, just straight up butterfly belly the whole time. Damn.

Natas and Gonz are the two guys at that time to learn from ..the originals. I don't really remember anyone caring that Mullen was doing flip tricks damn near standing still . street had very little to do with flipy flips at that time . More skating the street etc . Glad Mullen did his thing , street is much more then kickflips .
