Only the first 2 were based on books, 3 was based on a draft for a Lethal Weapon sequel, and the 4th was based on an article.

Justin An It's true - it was also based off a recurring nightmare that the writer was experiencing. He mentions this in the Die Hard 3 commentary.

I kinda liked fie Hard 4, it was the last of an era, where Hollywood producers didn't really knew what computers where and assumed that hackers are wizards. It was charming. Die Hard 5 lacks any such charm.

Also, How did John Moore get a job after Max Payne? I would've trusted Friedberg and Seltzer OR Uwe Boll to direct this. At least Len Wiseman knows how to shoot action AND he had a Peptic Ulcer while directing it. What's Moore's excuse?

This movie is like 2013's answer to 2010's The Last Airbender. You know, that godawful movie based on the cartoon? It is similar to that movie in it's own way.

hated this one, I actually really enjoyed live free or die hard tho, despite the fact that john mclane was invincible lol. I still thought it was fun and the story was good enough for me to overlook that. This one however had none of that

Now that Disney owns Fox I’m hoping that they pull the plug on Die Hard 6 or “McClane” on IMDb.

I HAVE to give this film a "F#$% You" and agree with Leon! I hated Die Hard 4 but I hate this film even more than the 4th one. I hope John Moore doesn't make any more films! John, put away the director's chair and move on to something else, that isn't film making!

The trailer was like bait and switch. This was not a movie that went into production hell or something, I hope that's true or not.

This was a Die Hard movie was it the best no but it is still Die Hard I said the same thing about Live free or Die Hard when i saw it watch them all 1 after the

At least there are still many much better action movies that are recent and they are much better movies than this movie and this came from a film series that changed the action movie genre.

I guess I'm the only one in the entire world who didn't hate this movie and thought it was okay entertaining enough definitely not the best but I didn't hate it like everyone else

I didn't exactly hate it either, it just felt and uninspired at times. It's mediocre at best.

One of the worst movies of recent years. Up there with Last Airbender, Transformers 2, Jack and Jill, and other horrible recent movies that won worst picture at the Razzies. The film might win Worst Picture at the Razzies.
