Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share with you this new cleaning video! I cleaned several rooms in my house that desperately needed my attention! I started in my disgusting room, Tidied up my closet and then moved to My sons room that needed a mothers touch. I hadn't been in there in a month and needless to say I fear for his teenage years. haha He decided that cleaning meant shoving everything under his bed. Honestly it could have been worse. I was worse when I was his age sooo there's that. lol I did some laundry, cleaned the kitchen and took a tour upstairs where we had some chaos from a weekend of fun with friends. I cleaned that shit up real quick than headed down to Merediths room and told her room who was boss and got rid of some clothes of hers - I decluttered a lot from her room and wentworth's room! And then I put all of her new clothes away, organized her dresser and wardrobe! Woop. I feel accomplished. Didn't get to the floors which needed it BADLY but I plan to do that tonight! fingers crossed... or tomorrow. haha Thanks for being a friend and holding judgment for when we get to Heaven together.

The story about Wentworth thanking you for cleaning his room with a big ole hug made my heart happy! It reminded me of a similar memory I have tucked away about my big sister Debbie. I remember one day after school I came home to all my chores done, my favorite snacks, and one of my favorite movies ready to watch. I hugged her so hard!!! Keep your hangers in your laundry room that way you can take clothing out of the washer/dryer and hang immediately. Less handling of items makes for much more progress.

I read someone talking about reducing handling/touches per item. Every touch is a decision so less touch equals less decision fatigue. And my mom always says ‘don’t put it down, put it away’. I have adhd so I personally need little catchphrases to remember things lol.

I always had a chore day, usually Saturday, where everyone chipped in to get things done. The rest of the time I did the cleaning, and you are right, there is nothing like a mothers touch. And guess what? Kids grow up just fine even when they aren’t constantly cleaning the house. When they can play and create and laugh. Kids don’t have to be adults. It happens fast enough.

I have 4 kids including a newborn who doesn’t sleep. This is so relatable. And yes!! Sometimes you just need to rest and spend time with family. My house is either tidy and the kids are going crazy, or the kids are entertained and the house is a mess 🤷‍♀️

Kim, I was thinking of how much you explained that your kids clean and so on, and may be new people may have commented things about that, but just know that most of us totally get it. We love that you share these things bc we've all been there. When life gets in the way of that general upkeep, and then you gotta spend a whole day or weekends giving it a mother's touch, add you say. Thanks for continuing to share the realness.

I have Tuesdays off from work to keep my mental health going . I just love your videos. They bring me joy!! We had spring break last week. .we rented a cabin in Gatlinburg for all our kids. We have one married w our 13 yr old grandson and her husband....we have a son 22 yrs that just graduated college, then a 15 yr old daughter. We all had a great time. It was worth every penny spent for us all to be together ❤️

My mom raised 7 kids (I was the baby) and she found time to help me clean my room, help with my laundry, etc. And I appreciated her so mych for it. Yes, I learned to clean & cook and could have done it myself. But she chose to help me & I loved her for it. Great job parenting Kim! We love you💜

I’m FANTASTIC at washing, drying and folding clothes! Putting them away… 😳 not so much. I wish I could post a picture here. I have a pile of folded laundry on my chair in the living room, for two days now. Well, it has been moved from the table to the chair and back, but in one of those two places for two days. 🤷🏻‍♀️ At least they’re clean.

I'm sure we could all talk for hours about our kids' messes and the time and energy it takes us trying to manage it all. (My kids and their food wrappers -- don't get me started!! They just drop them where they stand, like "the maid" is following them around!) I'm not a delegator either, and you've made me feel better about that. Don’t ever think negatively about yourself or the house!!! No need to explain why stuff isn’t put up! You are AMAZING!!!! You do SO MUCH!!! I go through funks like for a week or two once or twice a year. And, I don’t even have 5 kids!!!! I take care of my mom and everything. Plus working on the house. I have one child. When Mari Kondo appeared I realised it was insane keeping all of my then 8-yearolds clothes for possible future children. I had 12 (!) of those black contractor bags when I took it to goodwill 🙈😅

My sister is older by 10 yrs and she gave me the best piece of advice/information that I've ever had. Mums (and dads) need to have a mental shutdown for a while for self preservation, so get that where ever you can, it doesn't matter how. My hubby got in from work and took the kids upstairs while he got out of his suit and bounced them on the bed lol, it gave me 15 minutes of quiet every day. Then who ever got the kids to bed would come down to a clean living room and kitchen so we could both relax till the next feed etc. If I needed longer, I went shopping, childless and slow walked round the supermarket for 2 hours. He would also take the kids to my Mother-in-laws on Saturdays, utter bliss lol.

It's a different experience having 5 babies over 12 years. I had two in 2 years so my kids were always at similar stages. While they were little I found it difficult to keep up with everything. Keeping up with all the different stages your kids are in would be challenging. I think you're doing great. Wolfgang is so cute.

There's nothing wrong with giving things a mother's touch and doing it yourself. I like to clean and pickup myself because sometimes my mental state needs to see it clean and tidy MY way. I feel like as a stay at home mom this is part of what it means to make a house a home....an art that is dying honestly. But I'm a bit traditional too. I like making my house a safe and cozy space....I like to feel good in my home.

You are doing an amazing job! Don't forget that, pat yourself on the back sometimes. Your house is a lot cleaner than mine! A suggestion for Meredith's play dresses. When my girls were little and all they wanted was their princess dresses, I started storing them with their toys in the playroom. That way they understood that they were toy like things and used for dress up play. Not everyday clothes. They usually wore their play dresses over their clothes, but always took them off if we went out somewhere. We tried to keep it separate. I didn't want the struggle of them wanting to wear their princess dresses to school because they were used to wearing them as everyday outfits. It worked, most of the time. I only remember one tantrum about wanting to wear a princess dress to church one Sunday. LOL.

We have company coming so I was doing a little extra and you kept me great company😄 thank you! Also, you sound a lot like my mom. She had 8 kids. 7 in 7 years plus 1 more 4 years later. I’m number 7. Anyway, she was constantly struggling to keep up with all the chores. She did delegate to us kids(there was a chore chart, rewards for cleaning like ¢5, ¢10, and even a filing system) but sometimes hassling us kids was more work than doing it herself. We all grew up and became functioning adults and remember our childhood fondly. We had a mom who spent time with us and loved us. I still do t know how she raised all 8 of us and lived to tell the story😂😅

Tomorrow Friday is the start of spring break and man oh man is my children excited. Not even that they are doing. Anything but. Not having to get up at the crack of dawn. And bedtime struggles. Glad for the break
