It's so sad that they're shutting the online stuff from NL down. One of closest friends is someone I met on there when I was 11. We've met up and maintaned a 12 year friendship, and it really sucks that they're taking away that opportunity from others :( When we do eventually get a new game, I really, really hope they make a worthwhile online area similar to NL

I think you're right about the minifigs. There's so many characters that they can release Minifig packs to make so much money and I think this is the reason they picked Animal Crossing over something like Zelda

Very sad about the New Leaf stuff going offline in April :( Especially since that was my first animal crossing game! Visiting dream islands and seeing all the cool designs and hacked towns people made was a staple of my high school years. The mini game island was one of my favorite parts too!

I'm very sad that I'll never be able to experience New Leaf online. I skipped that game, but knowing that it's the favorite of so many fans, it breaks my heart that I didn't play it. I'm also sad they're releasing the AC Switch Lites just now. I got a Switch Lite about a year ago and would have loved an AC version. Now it's not worth it.

If they did blind bags of all the various AC characters like they do with other licenses……holy cow

I’m really sad that we are losing the 3DS online functions… I used to be several states apart from my boyfriend and playing games like Animal Crossing on our 3Dss together was OUR thing! They shouldn't cancel the online functions, especially when NH has hardly any multiplayer activites to do 😡

my best friend and I spent our whole quarantine in 2020 in New Leaf, specially in summer. I didn't have a switch until christmas of 2020 and I think she didn't have NH either, so we used to stay in eachothers Towns. We pulled so many all nighters, catching beetles and diving. We played hide and seek in both of our towns and we spent so many hours playing Tortimers mini games. We also visited each other's houses and gave each other cool furniture to decorate. She had some great custom patterns so we would often wear the same outfit like twins, and we sent musical letters in our birthdays (she played All Star in one lol). 2020 was a very shitty year and that made our days so much fun, because even if we couldn't see eachother we could still hang out virtually and have fun. I'm so sad we're gonna lose that, I loved going to her town (I bough NL around 2018 and she had it since launch, so her town was so much cooler than mine lol). I'll always cherish those memories :(

I'm especially happy about the Shino icon. She is absolutely my favorite villager because I love mythology, and she totally strikes me as being very mythology-based even beyond the obvious Hannya inspiration; the Hannya being a woman turned demon due to jealousy or anger.

I am so excited for the Lego sets! And according to what I've been able to find, it will be full on SETS, not just minifigs. I do wish they had more characters, since Animal crossing has over 400 villagers and the like 5 they chose are not going to be everyone's favorites or even their top 10.

If we don't get a minifigure of Merry, I will be so sad because no one talks about her anymore. I think she's SO underrated now. 😢 She's so sweet.

i was hoping they'd fix some processes to make them faster and more efficient, like buying stuff from the terminal, or bulk items, i don't want to spend ten minutes skipping through useless dialogue bs just to buy a couple nook miles tickets or pumpkins. i've taken many long breaks from the game and always return surprised to see that they haven't made any of this better yet.

Nintendo like other companies are moving on to new mascots . While the old ones will still be around aka Mario they are going to use what's more popular. Animal crossing is this for Nintendo. So we'll keep seeing new merchandise and partnerships. I think mini figures would be great for both companies and fans! I hope they do more partnerships with zoos and meusems!
