The XPEL example is instructive. It was cheap and high quality and returns came from both growth and multiple expansion.

When I began investing 30 years ago the first book I was steered to focused on value investing. If I would have watched this 1 hour video instead and truly applied it’s teachings, my family would be financially set for life.

It is a survivorship bias to a huge extent. Look at multiple companies with valuations that don’t make sense. Majority of the companies that had huge runs when valuations didn’t matter came down subsequently

You are mixing multiples and valuation. Lets say you used DCF in any of those cases and you estimated future cash flows to be much higher, you would find both Amazon and Salesforce to be undervalued.

This guy was doing valuation entirely wrong and then uses that anecdote to try to convince people that valuation doesn't matter. I hope no one watched this.

He was not doing valuation, but multiple pricing. Surprisingly, he does not seem to know the difference.
