Rick did a patch paint job on my moms ford explorer probably 15-16 yrs ago, before he was a hotshot tv host and still had A tiny shop in east sonora ca. He was very, very cool though, Showed me around the shop, and showed me a supercharged small pickup. Blew my 13 yr old mind.

A good friend of mine back in high school had a 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix (the front of the 2+2 looks very similar). It had the 389 single 4 barrel setup and seemed like it could pass just about anything except for a gas station. Good thing gas was 85 cents per gallon back when we were burning up the backroads and cruising the Friday night "drag". The GTOs were sporty looking, but we had just as much fun in that Grand Prix.

Welp you had most of the info correct for the 64 2+2 However, it was really an appearance package in 64 which featured Buckets and a console in both Automatic and 4-Speed.. 4- Speed Big cars were not very common and maybe 10% of the production had a Standard.. The Cars Engines Featured way more engine options than just the 421 engines.. A 2+2 Started with a base engine.. The 2 barrel 389, Then the 4 Barrel 389, and the trophy Tri-Power 389.... I should know I had a few of these and My first was a 2bbl 389.. 2+2's had a rally gauge package.. Today they are Rare and Expensive items for collectors. In a nutshell finding the 421 Versions of the 2+2 were rare. I have seen a couple over my years. The last one was a Red convert I spied in Green Bay Wis so long ago.
