Beckster are you crazy?! That is a horrible idea. Any dentist will tell you that pacifiers after the age of 2 causes their teeth to form around the shape of the pacifier. They are meant to sooth infants who naturally suckle to self soothe. After that they have no purpose and become a crutch for a child. People are so afraid to do anything that will make their child upset anymore instead of doing what’s good for them. I work in a dental office and I see kids come in that are 3+ years old that are still using pacifiers and bottles. Their parents put them to bed with a bottle still and literally all of their teeth are rotting out of their head because of it. When we see kids still using bottles and pacifiers at 5 and older it just makes me sad for the child bc their parents either didn’t want to deal with the crying when they take them away or didn’t want to upset them and now they have to have major dental work along with most of their teeth pulled bc of it.

@@lindsaywhitley8812 Well, you have a point. But did you ever check out that site on the internet that I described, PacifiersRUs? I don't know, I could be wrong but I'm guessing now that it's baby teeth that can get disfigured easily by pacifiers, and not permanent teeth.

That was the best thing you could have done for her and I commend you for doing it even though it could have been hard at first. So many people think the aftermath is going to be too hard or just don’t want to upset their kids and it’s the worst thing for the child.

梅原緑 she’s not a baby!! She has a mouthful of teeth and can walk and talk so she is no longer a baby. No child should be using a pacifier after the age of 2 at the oldest and should no longer be using bottles after they’re a year old. People just don’t want to upset a child or just don’t want to deal with the crying instead of doing what is best for them and it’s sad. That’s why you see so many kids still using pacifiers and bottles at 2, 3, 4, 5+ years old. We see it in the dental office I work in all the time and all of those kids end up needing major dental work along with needing most of their teeth pulled bc they are completely rotting out of their head bc parents still put them to bed with a bottle and pacifier. By the time they have permanent teeth, most of them need root canals and crowns on the teeth that can still be salvaged. It’s sad.
