One of the nice things about Emily's covers is I learn the words to songs I've heard literally hundreds of times. I've been listening to this song for half a century and only knew about half the words. Emily annunciates so nice, along with the wonderful musicianship. She's a real blessing.

I’ve followed Elton’s career since the beginning. No one dares sings his songs, due to the melodic complexity and changes throughout his music. This beautiful young woman, who I have also followed and watched all her videos since she was little, has perhaps done the best version of this song I’ve heard. Love the piano runs at the end and the ending. You have evolved Emily and we can’t wait to see what comes next.

Plenty have covered Elton's songs over the years, and have done them justice. George Michael to name a few. But yeah, they really are timeless songs, we'll be listening to these songs for the next 50yrs again easily. Emily did this one justice too, captivating from the start.

When this song was new to me as a teenager many years ago, I used to cry at its melancholic lyrics and wistful melody. It has been decades and hundreds of listens to the original since I've cried. Today I cried because of the sheer beauty of the performance and arrangement. More than once. Just remembering it gives me goosebumps. Thank you and happy birthday, Emily. Emily, to me you are one of the great singers of today, because you seem to draw some inspiration from some of the great old school singers, at least that’s the way I feel because of your pure tones. You remind me a little bit of Vera Lynn, Joe Stafford, Joan Baez, and Judy Collins. Of course you are singing songs from a different era, the singer songwriter era that has continued up to this time.
