Our GT1 demo at last year's Members' Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport had a fantastic reception from spectators. Hearing that chorus of V8 and V12 engines was something we'll never forget. Arguably the best sounding of the lot was the Aston Martin DBR9 with that screaming V12.
Driving the 009 car was the man that won the GT1 class at Le Mans in 2008 and 2009 - Darren Turner. We caught up with Darren at #80MM and we discussed all things DBR9.

a single one is impossible to chose. I would say Mclaren F1 and CLK GTR are my favorite ones. But all of them were so epic. The Corvettes, Vipers, Astons, Maseratis, Lambos etc... my favorite tarmac racing class beside Group C. i really miss that.

I was at Le Mans 2005 age 20 watching the win. The memory of finding my way through the woods to see DBR9’s & Corvettes on the Mulsanne Straight at 3am will stay with me forever. That they are now historic cars makes me feel old 🙈

The 550 GT for me edges the DBR9 but both are in my all time favourites - both have pride of place in my model collection!

I was fortunate enough to go to this event and stand next to them in the paddock as they were all being put through their warm ups. Very fond memories and I’m so glad I can say I saw them in person.

Nope! It was the DBRS9 which was a GT3 rather than this GT1 DBR9. 😉

That symphonic blast of that V12 against the thunderous V8 of the Corvettes is one of the greatest sounds made by man. Synthetic fuels will keep the sound alive and my soul ♥️

When will they bring JGTC/Super GT cars to Goodwood? For my best and best looking racing cars, because of the extreme aerodynamics they have and how low they are.
