I've been running GA for many years and the system just gets more and more complicated. Unfortunately... they are doing the same thing to Analytics.

Great Video. However, I absolutely hate Google Ads. I used to use Google Ads quite often a few years ago. I took a break to re-develop my site. Then this year I went to start using Google Ads again and noticed that Google has made significant changes. I’m all for change, but Google has significantly complicated the crap out of Google Ads. I used to be able to set up various campaigns in a relatively short period of time. Now it’s taking more than a day and becoming a complete waste of time. One of the major strengths of Google Ads was its simplicity. In fact that is commented on a few times in the CNBC Documentary a few years ago “Inside the Mind of Google”. A small business should never have to hire an ad team to create these ad campaigns that they were once able to do quite easily themselves before.

Hi Aron! Great content as always! I have a suggestion for future content that other viewers might find useful. It could be for a quick short or a longer video. Basically, setting up and optimising a google ad campaign for a local store, could be restaurants, hairdressers, cafeterias. Tracking conversions by shop visits, calls and contact form inquiries. Would love to see your approach in building up such a campaign! Be well and keep up the great work!

Will be interesting to see if google gives everyone automatically created ads, how different will those ads be for the top 3 advertisers. If it finds the best headlines, why would it not use them for all the accounts?

For a new Google Ads account, would it be best to start with a PMax campaign, or would it be best to start with a Search (Maximize clicks) campaign to start getting data into the account before starting a PMax campaign?

Thanks for the video. In your example of less ad groups and more keywords with a broader match, what if I need customers to land in different landing pages? Its the same business but we provide different services. Right now I have set up an ad group per landing page with keywords relevant to the service they're looking for.

@Aaron your videos are awesome!! But I never saw you mentioned this topic: I am running a campaign, and I start with 20 keywords. Google started showing my ad also on similar or related keywords. I am constantly moving unwanted keywords to the negative list. It has over 4000 neg. keywords now. But what to do with keywords that are related somehow? I moved them to my keywords, but now I have 624 keywords. What to do, when I do not want them in negative or positive keyword lists?

Have you experienced this issue Aaron? Even if location is set to people in a certain city (not interested in), lately I've gotten searches from completely unrelated cities. It seems like Google is showing the ads to people outside my selection. And it's awful for local businesses.

Im only doing search ads shopping ads is too risky as far a buying intent cost is way too high 1.80 per click 1800 keywords to sort through our ad pops up for that might be negative, our Facebook we only paying 28 cents per click for the same audience pmax sounds good for remarking

It's endless change and read, read, read. I used to use Google ads but they effectively shot themselves in the foot for the one-man band business user.

Sorry man..the problem IS Google Ads. Ad copy is marginally important in a search situation, people already know what they are looking for. It's different from ads for magazines, TV, etc. Internet ads must be more objective, concise, clear.
