I have a pretty dry personality on camera, but I'm glad it's helped a few people out.

When downloading a folder from drive, it is zipped first, so that won't work. However, you can nest a network link within a network link and you can do it multiple times. That way, the primary kmz will have other network links within it to all of your other kmz files. The only downside is that you have to do each one manually. I hope that all makes sense.

It's hard to say without having the files you are working with. If you are okay with me testing your files, I'll do my best to help out. You'll just have to provide me a link to your files if that's okay with you. You do have to make sure that any images saved as overlays are included in your saved kmz file you upload to Google Drive. If it's a KML, they would have to be uploaded and linked separately in Google Drive. Also, it's helpful to nest several larger network link kmz files within a master network link kmz. Then each part of the master will only be downloaded when it's checked in Google Earth. Let me know if I can do anymore to help.

Considering that Sharefile is a paid service and I don't have an account, I am unable to test. Considering that it's a paid service meant to be a secure storage solution, I wonder if they would even allow public links for your files.

What do you mean by "the image doesn't show?" What image exactly? Is it one you saved as part of your file?

I would like to help, but I don't know what you mean by "my maps" or what's in the kml file or where you are trying to upload it or why it's failing to upload. Please be as clear and specific as possible and I'll try to help.

A couple of thoughts. It would be inefficient to load a 1GB file as a network link as it would have to download each time Google Earth is loaded instead of being cached locally. Each person who you share your link with would be waiting for some time depending on their network speed. Two, I don't know how an orthographic file is loaded by Google Earth, but if it's imported instead of opened, it may not load correctly in Google Earth from a network link. So far, I have only tested this with Google Earth .kml and .kmz files.
