The VSync thing is funny. 20 years ago we synchronized our "demoscene" animations to it because we knew it gave us perfectly smooth animations (320x200 VGA was 70 Hz). Why people "lose" what they previously knew and have to rediscover it?

I heard Google recommends employes to use Linux or OS X for security concerns. Considering OS X can run nearly everything that Linux can and has more commercial software they picking OS X ;] On other point, people take Google vs Apple too serious. maybe battle in marketing, but on daily basis they cooperate. Prime example is webkit which both Safari and Chrome using as website rendering core for the browser and so they both improve it and both benefit for each other.

It smooth, but it still needs a long way to go to match WP7 or iPhone. Some of the Animations need to speed up and be faster, there are still parts of the OS that need smoothening. Also Android 4.1 looks good but It needs to look more elegant.

Just got my Nexus 7. 4 CPU cores, 12 GPU cores, "Project Butter" and still Android finds a way to lag. Chrome - Missed swipes, "jank", excessive tiling, strobing with slow scrolling, pinch-to-zoom lag. Stock browser performs much better on my Gnex, but it's unavailable to install? Maps - Jank, strobing and awful pinch-to-zoom Most list views (KZfaq, Music, etc) - Strobing with slow scrolling, sputtering and lag. Scrolling overall is inconsistent. One handed and thumb scrolling fails.
