Learn everything you need to know about how to teach with Google Jamboard in this week's education technology tutorial for teachers.
Sam's teamed up with special guest Matt Miller from Ditch That Textbook to show you all the nuts and bolts of how to use Jamboard, show you all the latest Jamboard updates, show you how to create Jamboard templates and assignments, and even show you how to do things like use a stylus to draw on your board.
In addition to nuts and bolts, we’ll also give you practical ideas for how to use Jamboard in your classroom, whether you’re looking for a digital whiteboard tool, looking to create interactive drag-and-drop assignments, small group work, digital interactive notebooks, and more!

Love Jamboard and all your ideas. HOWEVER, it frustrates me that my 8th graders can edit/erase all the great ideas other kids post. I basically screen shot the Jamboards as a class leaves so I can embed on a Slide later to have kids refer to. Is there an update coming out that will ONLY ALLOW kids to delete their own post, and not mess with others'?

Hi. I was tasked to make a virtual "Thinking Wall" for our students where they can post questions and their classmates will be able to answer them. I don't want my students to mess up a frame in the Jamboard, so I am thinking of using the Padlet. However, there is a limited number of Padlets I can create. I hope you can help me choose the best app for that. Thank you.
@NextGenTeacher
@NextGenTeacher 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chaira, Yeah, I would definitely use Padlet for that purpose over Jamboard. Especially because Jamboard doesn't really have a comment function, whereas Padlet does. You can just archive old Padlet boards, which won't delete them, but will open up new space.

This was so helpful. I am wondering how to take parts of one jamboard and put it into another jamboard. I see that you can save it as a PDF and copy it in as a background, but what if you want a pile of sticky notes that need to be moved around or other elements to be able to be moved in the new board? I tutor in reading, and my readers arrive at different concepts at different times. I would love to be able to put parts of one student's lesson into another student's board.

@talk2mrg
@talk2mrg 2 жыл бұрын
This may be want you want to do>>>You should share the jamboard link as editable by anyone that has the link instead of default, view only. Find that in link settings. The whole jam board must be view only or editable, I may not make one frame view only and the following frames. As far as I know😀

Yes, you can do both. You could create an assignment for a small group of students and then assign that Jamboard just to them.

Can I type math symbols in jamboard?

Hey Deirdre, while Jamboard doesn't have any native math symbols built into it, you can combine it with Equatio. Here's a video showing how it works - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLGTmLxqv9yoc5s.html

Does jamboard work 100% with Microsoft?
@NextGenTeacher
@NextGenTeacher 3 жыл бұрын
Not 100% because Jamboard is a Google company. Students need Gmail addresses, for example, to be able to open up their own individual board.

Google jamboard is a powerful teaching tool. But it definitely needs some tweaking. Or the geniuses at Google need to create a similar more advanced tool.

Good and useful content, as usual. Must say your orange skin tone is a bit distracting! Spent the first 5 minutes wondering from what planet you had arrived. Maybe saturation levels gone wild?

Thanks, Randall! Hmmm, well we have actually been having lots of issues with color saturation due to an ongoing glitch with Screenflow, but in comparison to some previous videos, I actually thought the color in this one looked pretty normal! I'll take that into consideration though!

@@NextGenTeacher That's interesting! We occasionally use ScreenFlow. Will be on the lookout for that issue. Thx.

@@RandallTinfow Yeah, it's actually a major problem for lots of users and has definitely been causing me a headache. Check it out: telestreamforum.forumbee.com/t/63va21/rendered-output-color-not-matching
