I purchased the Pixel 6a and I love it, it's the perfect size phone for me. The 60Hz screen is not an issue for me, I don't notice it.

I would definitely prefer the Google Pixel 6A because of it's compact size and great performance for it's price point. I do like iOS better, but I can definitely appreciate a good Android phone

It's not really an easy choice and If Samsung fixed the 4K and 1080p 60fps video stabilisation I would say it's probably the best choice. Good video!! Stay safe.

Thanks for watching! I agree that Samsung’a 4K video stabilization is surprisingly rough on the A53. After about 2 or 3 sample videos, I haven’t touched 4K video after that

@@TechDaily Yep, it's a real shame becasue the quality is good. Samsung fixed the 4K (sadly not the 1080p 60fps) video stabilisation on the A52s 5G and then it released the A53 with the same problem and it hasn't even bothered to fix it so far, unbelievable!!

Nope , the chipset alone , makes the a53 a worst pick , it has great screen , high refresh rate but what’s the point to have such a beautiful view of its choppy and laggy , makes no god damn sense

I think the Pixel 6a is better. It doesn’t has 120Hz, MicroSD and some other things but it has an better camera, processor (and design) then the A53. If I need to choose one of them I would pick the Pixel 6a.

If you are planning to buy the A53 5G, I advice to buy the A52S 5G instead. It is so much better than this years model.

@@TechDaily I got the A53 when it was really new, now I'm feeling like I should've waited for the reviews to drop as then I would've probably gone with an A52S. Nevertheless, coming from an A71 (regular 4G model), I'm more than happy with my A53.

I just got the Galaxy A53 5G for 270$ and all the tradeoffs you get for the price over the Pixel 6a at 450$ make it worth it. Gotta love that screen and expandable memory.

It’s quite easy why Google didn’t bring 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rates to the 6A to differentiate it from their higher offerings. Why would someone purchase a Pixel 6 or the future pixel 7 or Pro when 6A offers one of the biggest determining attributes.

Man, awesome breakdown between the two phones. I think 6a got it. I wish it had an SD card slot and at least 90 refresh. Super quick and responsive, minus the fingerprint reader. Pixel won, even though I'm a Samsung fan.

It will not hold up, Samsung users often brag about 4 years of updates, however after 6 months, all a53s experience chugs, imagine that in 4 years.

The Samsung does have a great display, it even beats the standard pixel 6 for quality and brightness. The pixel outperforms the Samsung in other areas. Both are good devices for their price point

I live in Czechia and sadly Pixels are not officially avaible here. You can buy them from stores but they are much more expensive eg Pixel 6a will costs 12499 CZK (519$) while Galaxy A53 costs here 9990 CZK (414.5$). You can buy Pixels cheaper from eg Amazon from Gernany or France. But there is a big BUT. When People put Czech SIM into Pixel 6/6 Pro, 5G is disabled. I do not know if this is also happening to other countries where Pixels are not avaible but it is bad. So if you want stock Android and 5G and you do not want to root your phone the only phones you can choose are from Motorola or the Nothing Phone (1).

I'm looking for a new phone & I thought about either of these. I'll pass on both though and wait for the next generation. The Pixel is a non starter due to the wonky fingerprint reader. Think about it for a second, what's the first thing you do when you grab your cellphone? You unlock it. If that feature doesn't work well it would bother me every single time I use it. It would be frustrating. The Samsung issue is it's slower then last years model & any OS updates might make it even slower. Better off buying the a52. So sadly I guess I'll be chugging away on my 7 year old LG Stylo 3 Plus for a little longer. I sure do wish LG still made phones, sigh.

I think if your talking about longevity storage, and battery should also be included which the A53 has the advantage because in 2022 128gb is a bit small specially apps and games today takes big space also the OS updates takes big space. Every time you update a game and apps their storage increase as well and that 4k vids and pics that you took from your past to present phone or your files that you transfer from your old phone to present yeah storage is a big factor for longevity and having only 128gb without expandable storage is too small. Also the battery life of A53 is also advantage and that 120hz at the same time a53 has longer OS support having 4yrs of OS support and 5yrs security while pixel 6a has 3yrs of OS support and 5yrs security support. The only advantage of pixel 6a for longevity is only the processor. Also not all people likes stock androids some prefer one UI over stock that is probably why galaxy A50, A51, and A52 is one of the best selling smartphones in the world from 2019 to 2021

I wouldn’t agree, yes, Samsung offers one year more, google gets it early, as well as monthly updates on google pixel as opposed to 1 update per year on Samsung, the a53 already chugs to the shit on most reviews, so do you really want to use that for 4 years? As well as this cpu benchmark being incorrect, as Samsung has performance throttling, which clocks the cpu past it’s theoretical limit when it thinks it’s running a benchmark, and yet, still lost by 1/4. If you turn off that cheat option, you will get 450 in single core.

Samsung doesn't update their phone once a year 🤦♂️ Samsung have monthly updates as well 😂 also I have good experience using a samsung phone on long terms I have samsung wave 525 since 2011 which until today is still working of course no more updates because it is BADA OS I have samsung galaxy a5 2016 I bought it in 2016 its been 6yrs with me and still working the only problem is the internal memory which is really small and cannot update anymore because the lack of internal memory only 16gb of now I own a galaxy a72 and I always have a monthly update so if your gonna ask me if I can use a53 for 4yrs even tho I don't own a53 I am sure that it will still be good in 4 yrs heck even 5yrs given of my history of having a samsung. I have owned xperia z1, z ultra, lg g5 and they only last 2 yrs not a good experience specially their battery only samsung even their midrange better than the flagships that I bought before. That is why I told you that storage is also a factor for longevity of a phone because my only problem with my galaxy a5 2016 is the lack of internal memory cannot download and update apps because memory is already full.

Samsung doesn’t have a perfect track record of monthly updates as you say, as well as google getting their updates several months earlier than Samsung, and Samsung often releases their devices later, which means they will end up on the same os anyway. I am in no way a heavy user, but I saw how hard the a53 chugged, and I determined it was no better than my old phone, so I switched back. I’m going to be buying the pixel 6a. Samsung fanboys such as yourself gloss over the fact that Samsung has worse products than a software company

If you need to make multiple photos, or photos of moving subjects, or low light photos its the 6a all the way. Basically if you have kids it's the 6a for me haha. Plus as the phones get older the 6a's proccesor will hold up a lot better than the exynos which already chugs on an a53 in my opinion.

If my memory serves me right, the 6a's tensor is based on the exynos so you're getting exynos. But the difference is the 6a is based on a flagship exynos while the a53 is a budget soc.

I'd recommend a proper camera if you want all that lol. People are weird: digital SLRs still kick smartphones' asses in the camera department. They're obviously a lot more bulky, but everything comes with it's tradeoffs.

I have been interested in this phone due to battery; The a53. I have been using s21 fe for a year and find myself having to charge it far too often. Wireless charging is not a major thing never used it. Wired is still faster anyway.

8:50 yeah longevity is a good point. The 25 watts is not that much more than 18 so you'll still probably be charging overnight and so you might as well just get a bit more longevity. Now if it were 33 or 50 watts then that's a different story. Then the "fast charging" is actually useful.

I had to return the Pixel 6a after 4 days use. There's a connectivity issue with it when making calls. The person you call hears audio stuttering and calls drop all the time. It's a known bug which affects many 100's of users. Useless when you want to use it to make calls!

@@dmp3231966 The Tensor is not even capable of filming in 4k60 for more than 10 minutes, and it displays the same graphic quality as the 778G in all the big 3D games while being much less autonomous and heating up more, therefore dropping fps after 15 minutes games. So how is it better than a 778G? Do not confuse the artificial intelligence options inherent in Pixel-Experience installed on Google smartphones with the power of the processor.

I am absolutely not used to using such a brick. I woner how buggy that pixel will be, my 4a gets me to splitscreen every time I want to edit a picture. After all the stories of bugs on 6 and 6a I will stay well clear of these phones.

Should've been a73. Just because the a52 was just as good as the a72 doesn't mean it's the better mid range. The a70 series is usually the better choice over the 50 series

A73 isn't in North America. If you import one you'll be missing a lot of the cell phone bands from the US so your service will be very spotty.

Agreed the A7X series is better than A5X series, but on this year, it just more like a downgrade compare to last year's a52s. And still a73 should atleast have a glass back at that price point. Even 2018's 3x cheaper a7 had glass back & aluminum frame.

778g will still get pummelled, tensor is a year newer and it’s built for a higher price point. Google pixels cameras will always be better still.

i could give 0 craps about screen resolution on a phone lol, 30 fps would be fine as long as it talks, texts, and emails lol, I love my pixel 6a and i am a Samsung guy, But decided the give the ole google a try, I came from a midrange Galaxy A71 5g to the Pixel 6A and its not as big but definitely better batter and camera minus the pixel resolution, Plus the magic erase feature is pretty cool

Tech reviewers do this on purpose, I find it shameful. Everyone clearly knows Samsung will give 5 years of support, but they keep twisting things to make it seem like that's still a "stock android" advantage.

They are the same money, that’s why he’s comparing them. It’s not “nearly flagship” as you say, they just did better. Google pixel has a cpu that is over double the single core speed of the a53.

@@kakun63 pixel never had overheating issues, that’s mostly bullshit because there was a 35 degree Celsius heat wave when it launched, and that’s why reviewers experienced that. As well as, the phone being made of premium materials that don’t blanket the hot air inside the phone, it dissipates it, which is a good thing, as well as, google phones getting the new os update 3-6 months before Samsung does, so in the same time frame, you’re getting the same os anyway.

As per some reviews I have seen of the pixel 6a some units have faulty fingerprint scanners.It will unlock when using an unregistered thumb,it's not acceptable at all.I am surprised at the lack of effort by Google😅.Btw Nice comparison Wade,loved it.

Unless it has variable refresh rate , I'd rather have the pixels 60 hz as opposed to the samsungs constant 120hz. I have the s20 fe with the constant 120 and the battery takes a hit because it's not variable.

The S21 FE is about $100-200 (depending on your location) more than the 6A. If you don't mind paying more, I would go for the S21 FE for its better cpu, better camera, and 120 hz refresh.

I bought the Google Pixel 4a5g 1 1/2 years ago, highly recommended by the salesman at the Xfinity store. Absolutely without a doubt the biggest piece of junk I've ever owned. Even the lady at the Xfinity call center said she wouldn't recommend the Google Pixel because of all the complaints about it. All the $50 phones I've owned in the past, (Samsung) were better than this piece of _ _ _ _ by google. After every update I'd have to reset a lot my settings. Half the time it wouldn't ring when I got a call. Text would show up 1 to 2 hours after they were sent and the list of problems go on and on. I wouldn't buy another Pixel if they discounted it by 99%. Samsung from now on for me. Thanks for the review but I'll never be convinced that a Google pixel phone is better than a Samsung.

As a test has shown between the pixel 6 pro and 6a battery even so smaller on the 6a ok lastest much longer that's because of the 120hrz. Now if u turn off the 120hrz the battery on the pixel 6 pro last almost 50% longer. So u decide if high refresh is so important if the battery takes a big hit. And then lag of wireless charging isn't bad it also degrades the battery health of phones much more. So high refresh takes a hit on battery lasting power and wireless charging will shorten ur battery capacity health much more. So is the high refresh and wireless charging better? Everything that damages the battery and shorten life is a big no no.

Owned the A53 for all but 3 days and returned it. No one talks about how the Wifi in the phone is capped at 250 Mbps (my old Pixel 3a gets 400+) and KZfaq app streaming is hard capped at 1080p, rather than 4K res downscaled for clarity on a device (again, my Pixel 3a does this). Makes me wonder if besides taking pictures and all, these reviewers even.. you know... USE THE PHONE AS A PHONE.

Different folks experience different things. The average household gets 100mbps internet - so a majority of people wouldn’t notice or even understand a WiFi limitation. Also, there is a 0% chance you’re going to notice a quality difference on a 4K downscaled video on a 6.5” screen. Again, different strokes for different folks ✌️

I bought a Samsung A53 5G for £249 on the October Amazon Prime day. I could have bought the Samsung A52 5G for £200 at the previous Prime Day. During the October Prime Day, the price of the Pixel 6a only went down to around £365. The only sub £250mid-range phone with good software support that I could buy on that day was the Samsung A53 5G. Samsung have a huge glut of unsold A series phones and so expect similarly cheap A series phones on Black Friday.

None of these are the right choice lol If I was going to get another mid range phone, I'd get the A52s or even the A72 before choosing these. A53 has exynos and other lower specs than the A52/s and Pixel phones aren't the same anymore lol last best and good looking one they had was the Pixel 3XL in my opinion. I hate that ugly rear camera set up, looks disgusting. Very poor choice of designs on that phone unlike the older Pixel phones and their phones are all buggy and lack of storage and other things is why I'll never go back to those phones. Plus, it's too small, I like big phones.

Why didn't you mention the lag, and stutter on the a53? 120hz works great inside its own UI, but using apps and on the web it suffers terrible lag. The Exynos 1280 chipset is weak and not optimized. Dude be honest. The Samsung a53 is a low budget device that is overly priced, and they try to pass it off as a mid-teir device. I guess that's why they lowered the price...Because no one is buying it. It can't even handle 120hz, people lower it to 60hz for it to be usable. 120hz is not an optimal setting for it. 60hz is, and even then it still lags.

A reminder, that all because something has better specs, doesn't make it the better buy. The A53 is one of Samsungs worse phones and they should definitely scrap it. Specs may be similar but if you bought the A53 you'd be wasting your money. Always go with the phone with the better processor, cameras, and software support. Google makes the android os. You will get the best version of Android. And for anyone that has owned a pixel, the extra features you get with the software are unbeatable...like call screening, hold for me, the transcripts during a phone call, voice dictation is the fastest and best I've ever used, all the camera features make this an insane buy. It's basically 400 bucks. I agree with some people that if you're going to go with Samsung around this price, get the a73. And if you're from the U.S. the pixel 6a is the budget phone for you
