Yes. The Pixel 7 series has the best usability and feature integration in any Android smartphone I've used. Direct My Call, Live Transcriptions, Call Screening, Now Playing, Google Lens, Google Translate, Night Shot, great dictation and voice recognition accuracy (no doubt thanks to the TPUs and Google's vast ML datasets) all elevate the Pixel 7/P7P above other Android phones for me. And the cameras are, if not the actual best cameras on a smartphone (Xiaomi S12 Ultra or Leitz Phone 2 are contenders), very close to the top of the pack, and more than enough for even image quality aficionados. Now some of these features are region-specific (mostly US/NA and Western EU), so users in Asia and other regions don't get the benefits (yet?), but they are now indispensable convenience features for me. More important to me than benchmark numbers; if you really want a phone for high end gaming, then the P7/P7P are not the phones for you (look at iPhone 14 Pro or Asus ROG Phone 6 instead), but as a smartphone/digital life/assistant device, my P7P has been the best tech purchase I've made in years.

I have owned both Apple and Samsung. I bought the Google Pixel 7 pro because it's simply what I want and nothing I did want or need. Bloatware, was a real problem losing 30GB of storage with no SD card option was a big deal to me. The AI on this phone is unbelievable to me. The way you truly see what I mean is take a picture. It truly shows you exactly the picture your eyes sees. What a great phone for the everyday user to take great pictures of friends, family, or whatever you see in nature.

The p7pro reminds me of the p2 xl. It's exactly what pixel and Nexus fans look for in a device. Can it compete with the 8 plus gen 1 or 8 gen 2? No, on paper at least. But the p7pro FEELS faster than beefy SD chip phones.

I've been with apple since 2017. i've had the 8 plus and then went to an 11 when they released. Recently I upgraded to gigabit internet with xfinity and they sent me a promotional saying if I added a mobile line, they drop my internet bill by $20/m for 24m. I just ordered a pixel 7 pro, got all new cords, new case, and all new charging accessories today. I'm beyond excited to finally get a real smartphone with all the latest technology. I've always been like 2-3 gens behind on phones.

This phone looks amazing. After LG left the cell phone market, Motorola took the third spot in the race but Google is absolutely killing it with last year's Pixel lineup (I especially like the 6a) and now the 7 and 7 Pro. All the while, Motorola just doesn't seem to make phones their consumers want (for the most part). If they make a Pixel 7a, I'm definitely going to buy that, as I want a more compact phone, compared to this gargantuan. The Pixel 7 is the size of the phone I have now, but I want something just a bit smaller, so the 6a is what I want. I'm waiting very patiently on the 7a, and I sincerely hope Google makes it.

@@TechDaily I've had Motorola for four years, with my current phone being the 2020 G Stylus. When it's 2022 and not a single of their new phones are an actual upgrade from a phone that's 2 years old, there is definitely a problem. I feel bad because I've been loyal to them, but Google Pixel's are just so much more attractive and they actually are physical upgrades from my G Stylus.

Is the screen as fluid as a Samsung flagship? I've been using the Pixel 7 pro for about 1 week and there are some issues that bother me. There is a sticky scrolling issue that has remained unsolved. I'm surprised more tech heads and vloggers don't mention this when they review the phone. But additionally as I mentioned initially I feel like the screen is not as fluid as you would think for 120hz. I also feel that the speakers are to put it plainly quite bad. I think the speakers were better on my Pixel 5. There are also hundreds of other people who have posted on Reddit and online about the speakers not being great. Other than that I am experiencing some bugs with my device. I hope the experience gets better.

Here is my running list on what Pixel 7 Pro (or rather newest line up and newest OS does NOT have: 1. After taking a picture, quick view requires you to have Google Photos installed/enabled (even if you have Google Gallery or other 3rd party gallery installed). 2. No "double tap" to turn off the screen 3. Traking screenshot is either hardware buttons, or task manager and clicking "screenshot" option there (why not gesture Google?) 4. Adjusting the size of the font and size of the icons are applied across home screen, app drawer and settings menu (weird) 5. "NAILED" to the home screen is calendar in the odd upper left area... cannot be removed... DUMB 6. "NAILED" to the home screen is google search bar - even if you are not using it, nope, gotta stay there... DUMB 7. Task manager does not have immediate "Close All" upon opening it... you have to swipe all the way to the left to get to it 8. Multiple icons in a folder on home screen look crowded, rather vertically positioned, not horizontally 9. Wi-Fi switch requires to bring down notifications, click Internet then get to on/off switch... why change this from what it was before? 10. Finger print reader is positioned little bit too high considering the size of the phone (specifically 7 Pro version) 11. Brightness slider (within notifications menu down) is rapidly blinking if you move it to adjust brightness manually 12. Fast charging is really no fast charging: marketed as 30W charger, is actually 23W and 0-100% charging time is 1hr and 52mins... (slower than a Hummer EV ona fast charger btw... 13. Smart Unlock only works with trusted devices (paired BT devices, etc.) and smart places (home address but approximated - within 125 meters range (or ~400ft) around your house. It does not offer trusted networks (once connected to WiFi, then allowing it) - why not Google?? 14. No hardware slider switch for mute-vibrate-ring selection 15. No option to put camera for a quick access on the lock screen of the phone. 16. Keyboard does not stretch all the way to the sides, causing typos all over the place - slightly curved edges serve no purpose. 17. Camera quality does not justify such big rear camera bar that is sticking out... not designed the way it could be designed. 18. When watching KZfaq, sound is not properly equalizied - bottom of the screen speaker is noticeably louder. 19. PIN code is asked for too often after I use my fingerprint to unlock the phone - no option to adjust this, or turn it off. 20. PIN code requires you to click "ENTER" arrow after typing it on the screen. 21. When you open app, clicking back (to home screen) shows a quick blink of the app icon across the half of the screen on the phone... I have sadly hoped Pixel 7 Pro was going to be it... but unfortunately it spend just a few days in my posession and was returned for a refund... they still have work to do...

i have both s22u and pixel 7 pro and its a great phone except one thing that kills it for me and its the pixel7 pros Bluetooth software. It frequently routes my call audio through my phone speaker when I have my Bluetooth head phones connected, it often does this when I am listening to youtube videos on my phone and then go to my call log and make a call the sound will just be routed through my phone instead of my head phones, it does this same thing when I make a call through google assistant, it also does this is if I have my headphones connected to my p7p but stop streaming audio through them for awhile and let the head phones stay connected but be in a passive on state and then if I go to make a call its like the p7p puts the head phones into sleep mode and doesn't use them for the call audio and instead only uses the phone speaker. It drives me nuts and is a killer for me, and its a shame because I love a lot of the pixel software and cameras. None of my Samsung phones have every had this issue they always route the call audio through my head phones when they are hooked up perfectly!

Worst reason to upgrade: My OnePlus 7Pro is getting old and I like the idea of Pixel 7Pro, because I'll get to stay with 7Pro. :D TBH the pricing for it is still a bit steep considering the fact that the supported bands for 5G don't work in my country and due to the same thing the VoLTE won't work either. Google Assistant doesn't speak my language and while my English is passable enough to use it as my phone language it's a bit awkward to start speaking English in public to my phone. With these facts in mind I'm waiting for a slight price drop or my current phone to go totally unusable before I'm making the switch.

This issue with the curve screen. As long as the screen is big enough the curve is nice. The main objective for a premier cell phone is that it has an identity... and Goggle Pixel Pro has certainly done that with it's camera visor and curved screen. There is no reason to dislike the curved screen. It doesn't hurt anything. Now we finally have a cellphone company that can actually rival the iPhone by itself, with its hardware and its own proprietary software.

I said my last phone would be my Note 20 Ultra. Something caught my eye about my 7Pro. So I bought this phone for my business line Incase it was a loser...well it turns out I reach for this phone more than my Note!! Thought I'd miss the stylus, but I can do all the same using my finger, thought I'd need a SD slot but the 512 GB is well enough, thought I'd miss custom settings, but, I even gain some plus the call screening feature like a digital secretary. The main butt kicker is the awesome sound from this phone you can hear the bass on speaker phone! I shopped this phone against the S22 Ultra except for the stylus I'm not missing much or holding my head down at all... especially when I got bells and whistles for less. For the camera...it's baddazz! Many features and quality equal to or better than my note. So many camera features I'm still learning. Remember this is pure Google Android so it runs smoother, updates earlier, and doesn't need all the Samsung permissions with updates. Anytime this outfit helped Apple with features you already know they are baddazz. We sometimes are scared of change because we don't know better. Be open to maybe there is something different and better sometimes. If Note20Ultra is still a beast so I'm gonna long term compare the S23Ultra to the 8Pro towards the end of next year just in case. For now I have two beast at hand!!

I bought the pixel 7 because I was looking for a more pocketable phone. I got the clear google case from the playstore and frankly it's not very good kinda a hard case and slippery plus adds a lot of bulk. The phone itself is fine photos to me aren't any better than my note 20 ultra but video is not as good as my iPhone 13 pro. My only gripes are speakers aren't very good as in loud and the screen is super reflective more than any other phone I've had. My samsung or iPhone I put on 50% brightness but the pixel I use on 70% brightness to match the 50% of the other phones besides that I get about 5-6 hrs of SOT

I'm on day two with the P7P. The overheating and battery life are concerning. First day of use I was at 20% after 10 hrs, not near the end of my day, and with moderate use (i.e. heavy emailing, texting, and browsing. No gaming). The software enhancements are second to none - best I've seen among any other flagship brand. Speech to text is near perfect, and assist is intuitive and useful. I'm keeping my fingers cross these things go away as the phone gets used to my usage patterns.

I too was skeptical about getting this phone. The first three weeks were really bad, I heavily thought about returning it. Battery life was really bad, it got hot and I didn't want to use it because it would drain the battery. And then, after three weeks, boom!!!! The battery life improved immensely. I use adaptive battery and adaptive charging and only need to charge it at night. I should also mentioned that the November patch helped a lot and I did have to dig deep and turn off a lot of features that drain the battery and sadly are left on by default

Imo phones are stupid, The Pixel3 to Pixel6&7 is an example of prime 'tech suppression' and 'overpricing'. You should always try to set up your own phone the way you want, then get the apps/deals you want nowadays. If you want Pixel7 'slim' that has practically the same CPU/GPU power, all in one, costs like 100$, just get the Pixel3 (unlocked), and there are some 'new/mint condition' ones still out there. It has: support for e-Sim, camera is great and has most features (except if for like ultra zooming, literally the only feature not on Pixel3, but still has like ultra HD and 3000x2000 resolutions and about 2x zoom, if you are a camera freak maybe you can settle or skip on it, but it's arguably a great one). The CPU/GPU components in underlying specifications on the 100$ Pixel3 are basically stronger, or oddly resemble, that already on the 1000$ ones; I am not a phone gamer but just saying, if you want that processing power, it's literally about the same. You are overpaying a margin of 10X if not more for something you may not even use. If you really want to overpay or 'actually like' these larger tablet screens, that's great n all. But the best deal and best performance, probably get a fully unlockable Pixel3, like new, install a custom firmware or downgrade it to like Android11, then you basically got the same or better than this Pixel7 for 10x less. Especially if you like to set up your tech, look it up. Pixel3's CPU and GPU cores and frequency basically had 'less space' to work, and they resemble same performances as in the 1000$ ones that have significantly more width and space.. wtf? If you just want to throw money and get a setup, or just 'like larger screens/proportions', this may work fine for you.. but if you like having the high performance and best deal, I'd say there's better alternatives- I mainly dislike that ugly 3 holes configuration and larger screen of the new phones, even the cheapest ones that more resemble normal smart phones of the last 10 years, it reminds me of something for teenage girls and getting 'larger' which is backwards, and not practical, does not fit in pockets as well, makes it more breakable. Almost everything is worse when it's larger; I can see it as an option for those who totally rely on only their phone and want it to be larger, more like a tablet, but it seems there is rarely 'another option'. Thus after finally upgrading my dying like 2008 phone, Pixel3 was finally my main choice. It has good all around performance, looks solid, 1 hole HD+ camera, with nightmode and any nifty features you may have missed on that you want to try, still using it since like 2020; in fact im a bit disappointed that the camera is so good that its more detailed than like IPhone cameras, you can just like zoom in and see every little detail and flaw, where it'd probably be better not to do that. Just make sure it's not locked, and does not upgrade itself to the last official Android12, or you may literally suffer usage issues, or it'll probably break itself on purpose over time since Google was quick to softlock the phones. I feel like modern phones are going a direction that's backwards, or for people who have 0 laptop/pc then they want more ilke a tablet, but then it's harder to find the 'good normal' option. I say Pixel3 is like the 'slim' version, it is, but it really just has proportionslike a 'normal smart phone' did like 10 years ago.. For those who rely on latest phones, and overpay the latest 10X prices, they are certainly getting the regression that they are forced to pay for, bigger is not better for most phones and same with all the other directions these phones go. Good for oldschool people like me who don't want some forced 'big design changes' too, if like, class of 2012 is now becoming old, lol. (also with the biometric and other things, it just shows how they 'slightly change' something that already existed anyway for years, more tech suppression and overpricing..) There are of course other phones, but I think the Pixel3 is basically a great deal for those who just want a working phone for the next years to come, if you can set it up how you want to. It even has the biometric fingerprint scanner, only it's on the back, you just tap it; replaces the old button on the back of the phone. Paying 900$ more for Pixel7 than like a comparable great 100$ phone seems like: -if the battery lasts like 5 days, then you got an 'ok' battery upgrade. -if you like bigger screen and proportions, then you got it. -if it does zoom in like 50x and you like that feature, with the arguably ugly 3 holes configuration, then go for it. It doesn't seem great except the like batteries nowadays might actually last all week, instead of needing charge every 1 to 3 days, but imo that is perfectly fine to me. Wouldn't pay like 1k for it.

So how do you work around the lack of app support for older Android, lack of security updates and no OS updates? I'd imagine you have to look for APKs yourself online? But then you're relying on those older APKs being stable and/or secure? Whether we live it or hate it in the world of tech 2012 IS old, and perhaps your use case is a very small minority versus the majority of users that want to be able to just have their phone run software without much user input. On the plus side you're saving a small fortune so there's that
@jcherskov2477
@jcherskov2477 Жыл бұрын
@@fubar1984 Hi Ben, APKs are auto-grabbed for the version they're running or compatible for. If the version's available, it will simply be grabbed by the store app and installed. As long as there's no compatibility issue, practically everything runs on A11-A12. 'incompatbility' usually stretches for phones that are like pre android5.0 and can't upgrade themselves and things like that. IF you get the unlocked version, you can easily flash Android11 (recommended) or a custom rom for Android11 or Android12 which would probably be better with a few additional steps, and it enables sensors, and other things usually stripped from official firmware. I haven't yet run into any app that simply doesn't install/work while using the Pixel3. I did run into that problem, on like an old LG phone that was stuck on liek 4.0/5.0 version for a few apps but that's about it. Installing Android12 works but is not good for due to multiple reasons, 1 is softlocking, Pixels have been known to die over time and I bet they simply added in a final few 'bad updates' to ensure it does die or turn off eventually. 2nd is the changd/ugly lock screen with the big numbers, that can't be changed. There is the added nuisance on the official Android11, you'll always have to occasionally close the 'update window', but I've just been using that for a while now. It wouldn't be a huge deal but changing to a custom firmware would be a bit better too, but I don't want to reset my phone again.
