I left my beloved iPhone 13 Pro for the Pixel 7 Pro and boy let me tell, I feel free now! I honestly don't see myself going back to the Apple garden for now. It's amazing how this phone actually feel like a smartphone and makes the iPhone feel a little dumb to be honest. The call screening, automatic translate in message apps, automatic spam filtration, the amazing Google assistant, the camera, the control you actually have... I can keep going on and on. Thank you Apple for all these years but you will not keep me handcuffed anymore... There's actually better options out there and Apple doesn't want you to realize that.

After 15 years with Apple iphones, from 3 to 12Mac book Pro and ipads, we finally changed to Android 100%. The last two years we kept one 12 mini, two ipads, and my macpro. But I tried the new OnePlus 9 and was really impressed. But what impressed me even more was the Pixel 6 pro that a couple of my IT engineers had. I liked the pure Google os, so much so, that last week we discarded everything for two Pixel 7pros, the Galaxy Tab 8 ultra and a Microsoft surface pro 9 along with a new Dell computer. My OnePlus led the way. Thank you for an honest review.

I traded my Iphone 12 pro max for a Pixel 6 Pro, and once I broke out of the walled garden, I finally realized how freeing android phones are, specifically Google phones. They are far from the beefiest phones as far as hardware is concerned, but they are by and large the "smartest" smart phones out. Incredible to see how inclusive, and open minded Google is about who is able to use, and enjoy their devices. They have features specifically made for handicapped people, their phones communicate with every other device, and a ton of other awesome stuff. Definitely a huge Google fan now

Call Screening, blocking spam calls and spam text messages is leaps above Apple. I'm a dual user as well and primarily use Android because of that. Now we just need Apple to adopt RCS so we can have a better texting experience between platforms. I've been a pixel user for several years. I picked up the Pixel 6a on black Friday after finding out that Google was taking trade-ins against the Black Friday specials. They offered me 200 bucks for my 4-year old Pixel 3aXL, so I ended up getting the 6a for 99 bucks. It has the same Tensor chip as the Pixel 6 and 6Pro, and so far, it seems to be an amazing phone, and I know there's not a single phone deal I could have found that would have been better than this one with my trade. I've owned several different brands of Androids over the years, but I'm really happy with how Google just leaves it alone and gives you pure Android, without any added bloatware on top of it. I'm super happy with the 6a; it feels a LOT more high-end than it actually is.

I bought my Pixel 7 Pro yesterday, switching from an iPhone 13. I have always had an iPhones, but in 2019 I switched to a Galaxy S9 and loved it, but i thought that Apple was doing better, so in March I bought the 13, hated it, i was used to sideloading apps with APKs, modded Instagram, Twitter, KZfaq, games and everything you can imagine, I was really drepessed that I couldn't do that in the iPhone unless I Jailbroke it. so I'm switching back to Android, but this time to a Pixel 7 Pro, I have always wanted to have a Pixel since the Pixel 3 came out, I live in Brazil and Pixels aren't sold here, but I'm importing it, iPhones here in Brazil are very overpriced, so I can sell my 13 for about $950, I bought the Pixel 7 Pro for $750, including taxes, shipping and everything, so I'm getting a better phone selling my used one for more than my new one.

The swipe from the left side to go back enrages me every time I take my wife's iPhone. Funny, but it seems like even the app developers hate it and understand that it's not usable. They enable the swipe from the middle of the screen (Telegram, Instagram..), not all the way from the edge of the other side from my finger. Why don't they at least allow users to choose the side of the swipe. Aren't the companies trying to be inclusive and so nowadays... Hello, Apple? There are left and right handed people in this world since the beginning of times... 🫤 This, along with the apps not being able to work in the background (media stops uploading if you go out of the app), were the biggest deal breakers for me.

@CozyLivingMachine
@CozyLivingMachine Жыл бұрын
@@blackrose1961000 That's a great question! Frankly, it was because of price entirely. I got the phone for $500 on sale, I figured I would use it as a device to play around with, maybe make videos of, but that I wouldn't want to completely switch over. Once I got in there, began using Android 13, I was blown away and pretty well sold. Once I installed GrapheneOS and saw the exact same functionality without the privacy concerns, I was completely sold and realized I had no need for my iPhone other than videography. I've now ordered a separate camera for videos, hoping that will do the trick and then I just had to decide if it was worth spending a little more for the larger screen and zoom lens. The 6.3" screen on the 7 is so good, no complaints, but I'm used to the larger displays, so 6.7" would be a nice-to-have sort of deal, and if only for videos, I wanted that zoom lens. Google also has a decent trade in system right now and I'm waiting for a good deal again on the phones to take advantage of both. Otherwise, if I didn't care somewhat about those few little details, I would have kept the Pixel 7 and been happy as a clam!

I also use an iPhone 14 and I recently picked up the pixel 7 on black Friday to be used as my secondary. I'm actually preferring the pixel 7 experience over my iphone. The only thing I wish I could change is the way the keyboard feels. I love most of the haptic responses on the pixel but I'd prefer it to feel more like an iPhone when I'm typing. It seems smoother and more accurate. Any recommendations besides just turning off the haptic feedback when using the keyboard?

I completely understand. I think that Apple’s key is to use the haptic engine for feedback, which is an awesome, simple bit of hardware that makes a great difference! Try out a few other keyboards though, there is bound to be one that feels better. I couldn’t recommend one in particular, but once I get the 7 Pro, I’ll try to remember to check that out again!

Very interesting video. I’m actually here to find out more about the Pixel (probably the Pro for extra screen size), because, as you say, the cost of Apple phones are just too costly to justify. I continue to have problems with my iPhone 11 Pro, which is still not acknowledging text messages; I get no screen notifications or sounds, which is actually really p*ssing me off. I understand that Pixel is not without its flaws by any means, but an iPhone that costs as much as it does shouldn’t be this much of a headache. Hell, I just thought; it hasn’t charged by cable since I pretty much bought it too! Needless to say, I’m ready for a change, so thanks for the information and have a good day.

i have had both and a few reasons i keep switching to android is: price, the anti spam on pixels (text and call), google lens (super useful when you dont know the name of something), speech to text OMG is amazing (wish i had this feature when i was in university or school), and how you drag and drop almost anything (from PC and MAc - beautiful for audiobook lovers via Smart audio book player ap). however Apple is nicer, the crowd pleaser,(looks generally premium and you wont be that android person in a group), imessage being exclusive, apple ecosystem (airdrop or universal copy and paste) , and some apps work better natively (instgram for example).

I agree with everything you've said, especially the social media app video quality (which, thankfully, we don't use) and the drag/drop feature being so freaking helpful! I have found myself far too frustrated with the ebook and audiobook system on iPhone. Just nonsense how difficult it is! Used to own pixel 3. Honestly loved it especially those live wallpapers. Wanna install newest google live wallpapers? No problem just search their APK files to install them. So flexible! The app drawer is much better than the App Library. What about iphone? Can’t find their official live wallpapers? No choice, it is what it is. More over apps on the Home Screen has to be laid out in an order. In android I can place whereever I want. However since the release of iOS 16 I feel Apple finally give us some new wallpapers like the universe and the weather. It seems like this is the trend that Apple will release more and more features and customization. Now I’m confused should I stay in the Apple ecosystem since I have iPad and Apple Watch ? Google pixel just isn’t compatible especially upload new songs to Apple Watch and I have to use iPhone to do the job.

It’s interesting seeing a iPhone user trying android properly, most people just look at it at a distance and say no, or have a bad representation of a android phone from 10 years ago and think that’s how they compare to iPhones. In fact the main reason I switched from iPhone 4/5 years ago was for androids features, and design. When I switched iPhones had meh features, camera and screen. Apple almost swayed me after the iPhone X release but decided to get another flagship android, then last year I decided I wanted a tablet and thought I’d go for the iPad Pro m1, and while I’m not disappointed with it, my next tablet will be from Samsung or Google if they produce a flagship tablet.

More important to me is that more PCs and 3rd party devices (and their companion apps) play better with Android than with iOS. Most of the integration you mention can be achieved with Windows/Linux and/or apps like Signal, Google Messages/Meet, and others that champion cross-platform compatibility. Each to their own, though. @MickyMac Keep in mind that not every Samsung owner is rocking a flagship handset. Apple makes 1-3 handsets per year and all could be considered premium. Samsung has about a dozen devices ranging from under $150 at the extreme budget end to pricey experiments like the fold series. Thusly the experience varies wildly. Most apps on my S21 and S22 were buttery smooth next to a 60hz iPhone, but then the iPhone was smoother than my A70. It's not an apples to apples comparison.

I'm currently using a iPhone 12 and just want a change of ecosystem. Because of a big sale on here with my carrier until Dec 31 I could play it safe and go with the iPhone 14 but like I said .. kinda tired of them. Looking at either the Galaxy S22 or Pixle 7. However I've heard of the following issues with the Pixle 7 and just wondering if they are valid concerns? 1. Green and red rainbow effect on white screens? 2. Bugginess? (freezing, hang ups etc) 3. Finger sensor issues? I also love Carplay so any issues with this phone and Android Auto? The other thing I'm hoping to find in an Android phone if I can is a cool feature all my iPhones have had and that "repeat alerts" for my messages. Iphone users know what I'm talking about ... you can set your phone to AUDIBLY alert you to a text message for up to ten times ... at 2 minute intervals. So after a message comes in ... it'll alert you immediately (like any other phone) but then every two minutes it sound another audible alert ... and it'll do this for up to ten times (depending on how you set it) So basically you can have an audible alert periodically happening for twenty minutes after the message first came in. I love that feature because my phone is not always on my person ... so this makes sure I don't miss a message if I'm in the vicinity but not with my phone. Thanks in advance for any responses to my questions/concerns ... it'll help me greatly to make this decision! 🙏🏿

Hmm. I may not be of much help here, if only because I actually really like the Samsung systems and their cameras, though the Pixel is no slouch at all. If you're wanting to mod your OS, definitely go Pixel! For your specific concerns: 1. Nope. Mine is perfect. 2. Occasional freezing, but this happens mostly due to the apps, and it's not even once per day. This also happened on my iPhones. No full system hangs requiring a reboot. 3. The fingerprint is perfect for me! Much more reliable than the Face ID (I must be so ugly it didn't want to look at me. 🤣) Android Auto is plenty good, and I prefer it over the CarPlay, personally, but they're both solid. I'm pretty confident that you can set up repeat alerts though I just reset my phone and would need to dig in again. But I'm certain it has this option!

My first iPhone was the 6S Plus and I really enjoyed the iOS experience and was blown away by how superior iPhone was at that time to the Android OS. Then, in 2021, I ditched the horrible iPhone XR and got a Pixel 5a and while that phone wasn't perfect, it was solid in overall daily performance and restored my faith in the Android OS. I now have a Pixel 6a and I completely love it! My brother bought a Pixel 7 and this 6a of mine actually gets better battery than his and he returned his 7 and also got a 6a. Google has refined and elevated what Android is capable of and these Pixels get priority over other Androids on updates too. Pixels also have a better experience with their UI and it feels more fluid than brands like Samsung, Motorola, and OnePlus. I never thought I'd see the day I'd recommend an Android phone over any iPhone but newer Pixels are just better and more stable in my experience with them. Great review!

Absolutely. Our stories are similar, I left Android when it was just too buggy for my use (growing pains in the market!) and I actually started working at Apple with my Samsung phone! The experience used to be much more stable and simple. For my use, the opposite is true now! It's cool to see that your 6a battery is better, that's pretty cool!

@@CozyLivingMachine that's precisely my thoughts too! iOS used to be more stable and fluid and now Android and especially Pixels have switched places. The sad part is if Apple hadn't gotten lazy and just started doing straight up cash grabs, they could be light years ahead of anything Android phones can do. It seems Apple is content staying the same and never evolving. Simple things like constant accidental screen touches making my apps jiggle around and accidentally turning on the flashlight/camera on the lock screen were kinda deal breakers for me. Even something like seeing an exact time when I plug in my 6a to charge is something iPhone doesn't have along with the ability to see exactly how long an alarm has until going off. iOS isn't customizable enough and while I do miss certain things about it, my Pixel 6a has largely been a great experience and overall I'm happier with it on a daily basis.

Is there any difference between the Google Pixel Android System and the Samsung Android ? by the way, for charging your phone, I would recommend this device available on Amazon... " Superallure Solar-Charger-Power-Bank - Portable Charger,43800mAh Qc3.0 Fast Charging Qi 10W Wireless Charger "

Whoa. That think is intense! But funny you should say that, we have two of those battery packs with solar panels built in, and I'm working out a plan to use one of them to power a Wyze cam on the back of our rig, outside, because we won't have a rear window in the new motorhome! As for the Samsung/Pixel operating system differences, the underlying system would be identical, running Android base OS, but then Samsung adds their features and Knox system, locks down things and adds a whole UI (I believe OneUI if I'm not mistaken) which is something that the Pixel doesn't have by default. You could add some of that, of course, but that's with any device!

I went the opposite direction after 11 years on android. The pixel 6 was a fail IMO so I gave the 14 pro a solid chance for a couple months. I simply cannot get used to it! Especially not being able to swipe right to left to go back all the way to the Home Screen. It’s maddening to me. The list is so long on things I miss. I will soon be giving the 7 a chance to redeem the pixel line

I've heard the same thing about the Pixel 6 being a real pain. I can certainly see all the little things that you get used to that make it hard to adapt one way or the other. For me, I miss the tap at the top of any app to return to the top of the page automatically, but thankfully it's been a quick enough adjustment to Android without it. The keyboard is the only thing that I greatly dislike because I use the dictation so often, but on iOS I never used the "suggested words" bar at the top of the keyboard, whereas it's required if I want to use the dictation function on the Pixel. Just some getting used to, I suppose!

@@CozyLivingMachine that’s funny… I abhor the iOS keyboard lol. I am easily 50% less efficient than the android Gboard (I think iOS Gboard is even worse than stock). I could see you missing the big mic in the corner. But google dictation is so much better for me. iOS dictation only understands half of what I say. Man I could just go on lol. But I really did give the 14 a fair shake. One thing I thought I was going to love was dynamic island. I never touch it 🤷‍♂️

Hahahah I did the exact same thing. Switched to an iPhone 14 max after being an android user for 15 years. Last phone was the p6 pro and I cannot get used to this shit at all. The lack of customization and freedom is irritating. I love the 14 pro max battery and the speakers and the watch is cool but I need my pixel back. Lucky I’m within the 3 week period to just pay a stocking fee and get my new p7pro 😂

Ive been an Apple user ever since iPhone 4. Bought a Pixel 3 XL a while back used it for a while but it was to slow on Android 12 so i switched back to my iPhone 12. Then i thought by myself well custom roms do exist still maybe there is a stable rom for my Pixel 3 XL. So i flashed a Android 13 rom on it and its been flying since! Goes to show with a little bit of tweaking how (old) hardware can still be able to hangout with the big guns! Yes its not the fastest out there but it does the job with little effort i even want to go as far as saying that my Pixel 3 XL with this Android 13 rom on it performs just as good as my iPhone

@@princeproductions7259 Thank you!! And they chose surprisingly decent hardware for the time. In various jobs that I've had, I've seen how people discard perfectly good hardware, not a scratch on it, just because of "age". I'd like to see all new devices unlock-able and able to be flashed to custom OSes. It only makes good sense!

I just traded in my Google Pixel 6 to the Google store and purchased the new Google Pixel 7. Google dropped the price from 599 to 499, then gave me 479 dollars for my Pixel 6. So I got the new phone for 21.40 including tax. Where can you get a better deal than that? You can keep your 1200 dollar I-phone 14 and I will stay with Google, a phone that does everything the I-phone does at less than half the price!!

I know you said you don't want this to become a tech channel, but that's how I found you... LOL I think your channel is already a 3 Topic channel... RV, Lifestyle and Tech. When I found your channel, you were reviewing a 4G T-Mobile and a GL.iNet Spitz GL-X750 router that you use for the cheapest Internet connections. I don't think its a bad idea to have more than just RV content on your channel. It will bring in a wider audience, and more subs... I have one more idea for your channel. I would love to see your thoughts on Artificial Intelligence / Robots that look like humans, and how we seem to be heading at lightning speed towards a Cyberdyne/ Skynet / Terminator style world where computers and machines control everything... I have always been a Samsung guy when it comes to cell phones. I'm thinking of trying the I Phone 14 Pro Max... Is it worth the $ 1500 price tag ?

I really appreciate that perspective! It's so funny, everything that I've learned from "pro KZfaqrs" has been wrong so far. 🤣 A lot of folks say to keep your channel very specific, but thus far it's actually worked out quite well to simply share our interests here and see what sticks! But "RV, Lifestyle & Tech" has a pretty nice ring to it. Maybe throw in freedom & liberty as well! Great point, and I genuinely appreciate you sharing that!! So AI, SkyNet, etc. that's a whole deal that has, frankly, disturbed me for quite some time. I was asked to work on the Amazon Rekognition Project while working at Amazon corporate and the more I learned about it, the more I was both angered and frightened. The level of intelligence that both our U.S. government and the private sector has on the population at large would have been unimaginable only years ago. However, it prompted me to quit and I couldn't be happier for it. Knowing a bit about what techniques they used helps me with making decisions and helps keep the paranoia at bay. 😂 I might talk a bit about that one day, that's a great point! As for the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the asking price... I kind of touched on this here as well: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/htKjd7OA3LDFgYU.html But the TLDR; my answer is no. I couldn't possibly recommend, in good conscience, the 14 Pro Max. Or even the iPhone 14s in general. I chat about this in tomorrow's video, but I've decided to return the Pixel 7 (which is an amazing phone, no doubt) for its bigger brother, the Pixel 7 Pro, install GrapheneOS again, and switch over completely. The price tag is much lower for a better photo camera, great features, the most private and (arguably) secure operating system ROM compatibility, there's far more freedom and flexibility (I'm sure that goes without saying) compared to iOS, and honestly I just prefer the feature set and UI/UX much more now. While I love Samsung's hardware and believe they make a very compelling package, their OneUI and extra tracking has left just a bit to be desired. Which is a shame, because the S21 Ultra was SO good! All that to say, my personal preference would be absolutely not. I've enjoyed my iPhone 13 Pro Max, there is not a single reason I'd look at the new devices whatsoever, and frankly, I suspect that you'd enjoy the phone for a few days while you adjust to the different interface, but quickly run into limitations that you aren't accustomed to and will quickly miss your Galaxy!
