I bought it & have used it for 2 days now. I came from the Google Pixel XL 2016. Can you imagine? It's a huge step up for me because I used the XL 2016 for 7 years in row. I'm so satisfied with it.

I discovered this channel last year through the pixel 6a camera review and i loved it specially the shots you took with it i was like how can a phone at that price take such good pictures This review is also amazing My problem with the 7a is the price gap between this phone and the pixel 7 is not that much so its kinda hard to recommend but i feel like the A serie have its own identity so if you like it go for it

I'm going to get the Pixel 7a now too. I am active in nature and wildlife photography and am always on the go very early. The great photos they have now shown can certainly also be used to take beautiful sunrises with the Pixel 7a. The telephoto lens then remains on the camera and no additional lenses have to be carried around. I'm really looking forward to this smartphone. 🙂 Great video.🙂👍

It's no system camera, but who always has their big system camera with them, and also gets it out in time to take some cool shots you see in the everyday. Look forward to my 7a arriving. Will be a big jump on the camera, from my Galaxy S10 Lite :)

Late to the party... Great video: would you really recommend the Pixel 7a over the Pixel 7 for photography? I know they're quite close but pretty much ALL KZfaqrs are suggesting to buy the Pixel 7 over the Pixel 7a as the Pixel 7 has better lenses , action mode, etc. What do you think?

@prakashrajupaini6Pixel 7 has been a disappointment relatively. The 7a matches it in most photos, even in low light the difference is so small in most that you can barely tell. And the 7a even beats it occasionally in normal conditions! If the price is close, you should probably still get the 7. But the 7a has it's advantages.

From what I can gather the 7a sensor works a wee bit better with the pixel software.

Depends on lighting. Any iPhone made in the last 3 years will look better than any current pixel for video. So I don’t know if you want to go that route but it’s the honest truth

@@LeeZavitz I do think a custom Gcam for pixel devices can fix the portrait issues. Although it's not available for pixel 7 pro yet. But it has shown staggeringly improved results on older pixels

Great phone hide it now for about 1 month. I had my iPhone 13 pro Max stolen in London. Got this the Google pixel 7A as a replacement. I thought temporary I paid £299 as well and have got some great pictures from it. So far I'm still playing around with it. One thing I have noticed the raw images look lack lust when you put them into Lightroom. I'm not sure why that may be. I did hear Lightroom have updated but it's not showing that but jpegs look good The only thing I can't find is manual settings

Thanks but the photos still have that waxy looking thing going on with the skin and the bokeh looks weird, like my iPhone 13 Pro does most the time. The only smartphone I have seen recently that looked killer in portraits (and pretty much everything else) is the Xperia IV, and what I have seen from the V looks even better. The video off it looks incredible as well. Thats a phone that could get me to switch from my iPhone. Waiting to see what changes the 15 Pro/Max cameras have but if they arent a lot better, I'll grab an Xperia.

What do you mean? A custom gcam wouldn't be better than native gcam in a pixel already coz it's tuned for that. I thought custom gcams were for phones that weren't pixels to get their processing basically

Telephoto lenses are a bit of a gimmick sometimes. Some photographers used fixed lenses and still get superb results.

Typical smartphone pictures. Every single year all I hear is “are real cameras obsolete because of that iPhone or that Samsung?” No, smartphones make terrible pictures. The pics look ok only on the little phone screens. That’s all.

Phone cameras are designed to take candid photos . Bit like the old point and shoot film cameras folk used to use . Could liken a phone camera to an old Olympus Trip or Kodak camera. Phone cameras still produce fantastic results for what they are !
