Thanks for your video. I've been wanting an 8 Pro upgrade from my 6Pro. Something I can't stand about my 6Pro is when switching back and forth between apps it reloads the information. For example, I'm in Instagram and i need to go respond to a text. When I get back to Instagram after sending a text, Instagram refreshes and I have to start all over. It's like this with multiple apps. I've never had this happen on any other phone. Your video just answered this question for me that no other video has. Thank you for your real review.

To have face unlock bypass the lock screen you have to turn it on in settings

I switched from galaxy s22U and I'm happy with it. Samsung has yet to fix their camera shuttering

Yea agreed. It got a little better on the s23 ultra but it's still there and it's worse in person 😭

Pixel computational AI photography isn't any better though? I waited a good 4 seconds for "Processing Photo" to finish. ☹️👎Too slow for me.

@@jevonsims900 yea it does take a minute to do it's processing. But it's kinda worth it lol. But yea essential it's like the shutter lag.

Thank you! I got it off the Samsung app actually. I’ve tried sending it to other people but it doesn’t work. It also doesn’t let me save it or even screen shot the photo!

Just upgraded to P8 pro bay blue from Pixel 5, I don't buy phone every year and its worthy upgrade for me. Guess I have to get use with its size.

How’s the storage holding up is 128gb enough???

I’ve never really had to use more then 128 gb. Currently at like 78. So to me it’s good. But if you are someone that uses a lot of storage I would definitely get 256gb model.

How is everyone's reception after the big update l'm waiting for my 8 pro to come in the mail upgrading from the pixel 6 pro. I remember my pixel six Pro had a lot of random drop connections when not on a phone call just browsing the web etc. it would lose connection

@@DennisBarrera well that’s good to hear should be getting it in a couple of days my dear is an iPhone 15 Pro Max and my second phone is the pixel six Pro waiting on the eight Pro to show up I was nervous about those cellular issues

problem is you cannot upload the video boost and post it on social media if you try to downloas it it wont download if you edit it it will give the original video not the boosted one

There is something you guys are not talking about on the display, the color temperature is warm, that's so annoying. I like stock android but missing white balance/ color temperature slider is putting me away. I recently bought this phone but not happy with the display. I had to go back to my old galaxy note 10 plus.

Hmm I did not notice to be honest. Probably did not help with my wall paper lol. What I did do was change the temperature of the buttons to a blue teal like it has before.

It can just unlock. Go to skip lock screen in face unlock . It's so good that it will even unlock sometimes thay wuick you wint even know. Simply by just looking.. cheers.

All good @@DennisBarrera. Be aware that if you're playing music it won't show you on the lock screen meaning controls. You'll have to pull down the quick setting notification bar to change songs etc.

I just got one. Had some screen flickering issues and the ai wallpaper doesnt work at all but happy overall

I hope the flickering went away! Remeber you always have 14 days to exchange it if it continues.

Pixels always have hardware issues. That's why I sold my 7 pro and went back to Samsung

@@mjjones1045 yea I can see what you mean I gotta say tho at least for me this years pixel was great! But yea if you put me to decide between my pixel 8 pro or s23 ultra. I would go s23ultra is just superior. But then again you pay for that since it’s more expensive.

@@DennisBarrera they are like a $200 price difference. People keep saying it's more expensive like it is that much cheaper. The cheapest pixel (128 gb model) is like $999 now. The cheapest s23 ultra is like $1199. It comes with a better screen, better speakers, much better build quality, more versatility, better reception, much better chipset, faster charging, much better battery life, video out through type c port, etc. I could go on and on. Google cuts way too many corners. I had the pixel 6 and 7 pro ( my first pixels) and they just had too many hardware and software issues. People say Google's software is better but my experience with two of their phones was that their software was plagued with bugs. So yeah, that $200 price difference is definitely worth it. Let's not forget about overheating and that plastic feeling (hollow) screen on the pixel.

@@mjjones1045 I see! I did not have I can't speak about anything before the 7 pro and after the 4xl. I did not get those pixel phones bc I did not like the design. But yea the pixel 7 pro for me was not worth the money. Which is where I got the s23ultra. I agree the s23 ultra is by far superior. I feel like with the promotion that Google is running for $799 the pixel 8 pro is worth it. But yes at $999 it's a hard sell.

If you are someone who doesn't just take your phone out of your pocket and snap a selfie picture and post it straight on your social media but you are only interested in the real cameras you can pretty much enjoy the pixel. But if you are someone who doesn't have to call someone to take your picture because you are not usually going to find that person, that's where the selfie comes in handy and that's where the pixel fails miserably. The pixel selfie camera is not even up to the budget phone's camera

Yea I mean I’m more of a landscaper type of picture person. Selfies not really my thing lol so I agree. If it weren’t for there imagen processing yes that would be bad.

I have seen some very unacceptable video problems on reviewers' videos.The lens changing and stabilization glitches that are very noticable

In uk the 256gb is £1059 ,now is reduced to £959. I got it in black, nice device, very bright screen,better than s23u,camera is okish. The AI "features " , well ,such a joke ,the AI wallpapers aren't AI generated, are based on key words and they repeat themselves. My issue with pixel 8 pro isn't the hardware, is the software, some weird decisions, for example brightness bar at the top,at glance and google search bar cannot be moved or removed, gboard cannot be sized horizontally and the themes are the same since pixel 2 or 3 came out😂. Any iphone will connect to my samsung tv,but not the pixel,you need a Chromecast device and guess what the quality of what you mirror is crap, with glitches . Windows pc usb connection gets cut off frequently. Overall a great phone ,worth the price,NO, more like 700

Thank you! Yeah I agree Google markets software but you will have a 50% chance if it will work. Then if it will work correctly. I love the brightness of the screen but idk why I still prefer the s23 ultra colors specifically for video lol but that could just be me 😂

@DennisBarrera I forgot to mention Chrome browser, to access a bookmark you need to reach the top right, then one more tap, whereas Samsung is at the bottom

As A Nexus / Pixel aficionado since it's inception, I have to admit I find the 8 Pro underwhelming and lacking on power. While my other phones have no trouble connecting to WiFi throughout my home, the Pixel ALWAYS drops the connection under the same distance. The Tensor chip is worse in this than my Pixel 6 from a couple of years ago. I can't figure out why nobody is mentioning this in his review.

Hey sorry to hear that. I personally did not face those issues what so ever. But I would reach out to Google and see if maybe they can help? Fortunately I've had only good experiences with this phone.

Because people are shilling for the Pixel. I keep wanting to like it, but the hardware just isn't cutting it. I dunno if it is the Tensor or the literal antenna or what but my Pixels have noticeably worse cellular and/or wifi connections at all times. iPhone or Samsung don't have this problem. Multiple models of Pixels have had this issue for me and get returned (including Pixels from the 6, 7, and 8 lineup). I am in the field away from chargers all day. My work phone is a an iPhone 15 Pro Max due to a specific reporting app we use and the good enough camera for the job. My personal phone is a Fold 5. I tried switching away from Samsung to Pixel multiple times because I want to like that phone and have it in my pocket, but it just has objectively and significantly worse battery and cellular performance. Then two things needed most.

@@seapanda-117 hey man I hear you! I am also out in the field I am an HVAC tech so battery life is very important to me. My experience with this pixel 8 pro I did not have those issues. Battery was actually great. In terms of the cellular issues I did not experience that. I would say give it a shot ? If worst comes to worst you can always return it got 14 days!
