Good to see new faces leading the channel, maybe I am on the wrong one, but I remember a lady, who was very good. I have nostalgia from watching her tech reviews. Overall, good work keeping with traditions if this is the right channel I am talking about.

Software and camera wise nothing else beats the Pixel 8a in its price range, but everything else just isn't on par with those Chinese phones namely Redmi, realme, iQOO, etc. Too bad for US market for missing out on these!

Buy this during sales and discounts. A bit pricey for an A series device from Google. Next thing you'll know they'll discontinued the a lineup and have the Pixel 10 to replace the 9a legacy. Only time will tell.

For anyone living in USA and planning to buy this phone unlocked with no contract, just wait until Black Friday weekend. This phone will cost $100-150 dollars less. But keep an eye on the price after Halloween. The discounts might start earlier.

@Oldasianguy Those who can afford to wait, will wait. They might not need a new phone right away, but they don't want to settle for a budget phone either. For some people, $150 towards a phone purchase is a considerable amount of money. And you should also wait until that time of year to get a discount on your Edge+ 2024, unless you're waiting for a carrier discount/freebie with a contract which isn't guaranteed as we saw in the case of the Edge+ 2023 that is only available unlocked.

Its actually a awesome mid range phone in comparison to other mid tier upper rangers . . . Chipset is more powerful than most in its class, the cameras would have to be the best in its class, and you get super clean stock android experience, overall its a snappy smooth performer. What you do miss out on in comparisons is the bigger screen and the faster charging. If a higher end performing camera and a snappy performer in a smaller form factor is what your looking for, it would be a perfect choice

Thick bezels, Gorilla Glass 3, plastic back, 3-5 Hrs. SoT on 4G mobile network, OLED display. I can't believe Google is passing this phone off as a "Cheaper" option in 2024. The Galaxy A20 had plastic back, Gorilla Glass 3, and an OLED Display too.

But does the general colour of the screen still look off with whites in particular? It's like a yellow staining over everything? I've sworn I'll never buy another Pixel phone after my heartbreak over the look of Pixel 6 phones pee stained looking screen colours. Deal breaker for me in future. Makes photos of the snow looks like you wouldn't want to eat it.

@@Davey97 yeah the specs of the iPhone SE 2025 is a mix of iphone 14 and 13 with one of the latest apple chips. The performance of that vs these android phones in Geekbench is like 50-60% faster single core and 100% multicore with great cameras and speed. Until then android is the only mid ranger.

The Pixel 8a has an uglier and thicker bezels than most lower mid-range phones, battery life is about average and sluggish charging speed. And the price is too high for an upper midranger.
