The Google Pixel update and security patch for July 2024 is here with a few fixes and updates for the Google Pixel phones, from the Pixel 5a to the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 8a. This is the last Android 14 update before the Pixel 9 is announced next month in August!

I have been on the pixel team since the pixel 6 pro ,7 pro and now 8 pro. I'm very happy with how Google is making the pixels phones better and better every year I can't wait for the pixel 9 pro.😊

One of many reasons I purchased my Pixel 8 Pro unlocked was to not have to deal with negativity from carriers. I have the update ready to download thankfully.

Never buying a pixel again I live in the Caribbean bought a pixel 8 pro from Amazon in February 2024 since the march update my phone freezes just like that nothing on my display works volume keys work imagine buying a phone for a 1000 us dollards and it works well for 1 month and google is telling me support is not in my country so I have a phone that is worthless anybody that lives outside of the usa please don't buy a pixel phone how can u make android and have so many software issues and take so long to fix them this is folks hard earned money and google just does not care

Installed it the same time Google rolled it out. Took 15 mins to install and reboot to apply the update. People with pixel 4 or 5 will see major performance boost with pixel 9.

I can't manually update my apps anymore. The update apps button under the system update only brings up a web browser version of play store...can view apps but can not update anymore.

Any recommendations for backing up photos to computer? I've had nothing but issues trying to use android transfer and updating USB functionality. This is the only functionality I miss with iPhoto and iPhone to an external drive. Does Google photo have anything comparable?

Hoping the danish hardware store is making the same tradein deal with the p9 like the p8. Never ever am i gonna pay more then 500dollars for an phone…fot the p8pro for 450dollars with a tradein of an old iphone 6. The p8 was 250.

I got the pixel 8 start of april but since the end of may I have noticed a massive slow down in the charging, sometimes it takes an hour just to get 0- 30% but there a very few moments where it speeds up? is that a software issue?

I would say what charger are you using because I have the 7pro and I had to change my charger because I had this issue as well.

Apple's greatest advantage over Google is fragmentation of Android. Most Android devices are still on Android 13 while very few iPhone models are on iOS 16. An iPhone is an iPhone no matter where it's from to me that's Apple's biggest strength. I believe more people will be switching to iPhone this year.

Got it yesterday 26 mb on pixel 8 pro Wow pixel ..last month 1 gb update didn't bring anything new to this pro flagship nd now 26 mb just in name of monthly update ...for the sake of happiness monthly patches. Now I understand how this gonna be working in future 7 years support.... R.i.p these updates nd this phone nothing new gonna be added no features no special software functions... I will not buy the pixel 9 because I have had a horrid experience with the 5A and the regular 8 plus samsung is better or even sony if you want a stock android edit: the pixel 9 design also looks weird
