If you are working with Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or other analytics/marketing tracking tools, Google Tag Manager is a must. It lets you manage tracking codes much faster and easier.
If you are not sure how or where to get started, this Google Tag Manager tutorial is exactly what you need. In this 1.5-hour video, I'll show you how to:
- Create your first container
- Create your first tags in GTM (we'll use Google Analytics 4)
- How to make sure that your setup works properly
- And how to publish those changes (so that Google Analytics would start measuring your website traffic).

Thanks Julius, great videos, really helpful, one question: I've set up GTM and google ads told me my website wasn't connected to google analytics, so now I've got on my website the scripts for GA4, UA, and GTM, including of course GTM firing tags to both GA4 and UA, is this unnecessary? Fantastic tutorial - thank you so much! I've spent so many hours struggling through using GTM and I feel so much more confident after watching this. The only part that I didn't like was the shade towards developers 😂 I'm a developer and always try to get things done for clients ASAP (especially something as simple as adding a tracking code!) but perhaps I'm in the minority 😂

Can we do conversion tracking without using Google Ads? For instance, if I created a 'Sign Up' trigger and I wanted to track First Touch -> Sign Up -> Purchase Complete in GA4? What would the tag look like to enable the Sign Up event? Would I just choose GA4 instead?

Hey! Very good video that explains very well how to do. I have followed your video to install GA4 via GTM and it works as it should in the preview mode in GTM. But when I check this in GA4 via DebugMode, there are no events on the timeline. The field TROUBLESHOOTING UNIT says: 0. The GTM tag has a checkmarker in the box: "Send a pageview event when this configuration is loaded" What am I doing wrong?

Hi Thank you very much for your video. I am thought facing a little difference when debuging, My sute uses WIX and when I click on another page, I can't see the page name on the timeline of Google Tag Manager Assistant even though iit's working of google analytics as it show that the page location is different. To explain more, the Window Loaded event fires only one tilme at the begining but never fires again when I naviguate to other pages. Can you please let me know if this is OK.

Hi everyone, I don't understand how to put a value on a custom event/conversion. I put in GTM in event parameters 2 rows, one with "value" as parameter name and a 35 (as 35€) as a value and for the 2nd "currency" and "EUR" I get results in google analytics at the conversion level but the system is not using those datas as Total Revenues. I wonder if my setup in GTM is right or if i missed smthg in Analytics. to mke it short : what i want to do is to put a value as Use the event value as the goal value for the conversion. that we had in UA. Thank you !

Maybe they didn't add container code. Maybe they added it incorrectly. Maybe something else.
