Why would the earth be the only unfortunate cosmic object to be flat? All of its other cousins are spherical. How would the sun rise and fall across a flat plane? Wouldn't it fall straight down down? Are you suggesting the earth is an upside down mountain structure floating in the middle of space?

I wonder what all the engineers reading these comments are thinking of what they see here? This monstrous machine could potentially revolutionize the upcoming era and here some of use are asking "But will it blend?" "But will it play Crysis?" Now, I think those jokes are funny, my sense of humor is beaming with life but I was hoping to read some philosophical viewpoints from a few more of you. Please, my fellow KZfaq peers, don't be afraid to converse into the deep conversations. Divulge your inner machinations, let us learn from one another...

Many of the topics that were addressed in the video reminded me of eastern philosophy. Like the duality in everything, the yin and the yang etc. It makes me think that long ago we all subconsciously knew this information before quantum physics came to the picture. Also many people believe that we live in a simulation/matrix. This computer has the potential of creating a matrix inside of this matrix sort of like a russian doll thing.

Truth is these quantums go past old computers and our own capabilities even so what if it can be programmed to do what we try to do but better... Imagine the formulas for answers we will get from it using the math of our universe to give us answers and methods ... We just have to do it correctly and program it to do so... Like I bet it can even help us figure out better ways to improve technology or even create new things we couldn't comprehend it can do for us... Like different mathematical possibilities that are sure to exist and predict for us before we even discover it ourselves I mean it seems extremely possible for a computer to predict an answer from complex math...its like seeing patterns and then matching all of the repetitive shapes in order to be able to predict new shapes.... Thats an example of how a program can work...and a quantum would/should be used to go further than that of course.

"D-wave initiating self-implosion"... "and that, kids, is how our birth planet and the solar system around it, became a black hole."
@uditsharmaification
@uditsharmaification 8 жыл бұрын
+iammmmblack technically the schwarzschild radius (radius of any object to which it must shrink in order to become a black hole) of the sun is about 2.7kms. Assuming all the solar systems mass is almost negligible to the Sun's mass, we can assume the radius for our whole solar system to shrink to in order to become a black hole is 3kms. The kind of energy required to do that will equate to the power output of the said black hole, which will be 3 kilometers in radius. The mass of the solar system is about 2*(10^30) kgs, which could be approximated to the same amount in Newtons (since kg to N in negligible compared to magnitudes of 10^30). By Einstein's famous energy equation, the black hole will emit about 9*(10^18)*2*(10^30) joules which is around 1.8*(10^49) joules. This also means we need one solar mass worth of antimatter to create such magnitudes of energy, which is frankly impossible to achieve on earth, and is only possible if you take our solar system and pour it into a black hole bigger than it. Since we have no manpower even close to 1.8*(10^49) joules, it's not even minutely close to possible to create a black hole using a computer which at most will weigh about 150-200 kgs. But the joke was kinda funny, sorry for the numbers 😅

One of the first things Q-Comps will be used for is to figure out how to make Q-Comps that can function at room temperature. Once this task is undertaken, it will take just over a year to figure it, right down to manufacturing, and then less than a year to actually do it. This will commence within the next 5-10 years. We will all have Q-Comps in our homes by 2026. After that human advancement will accelerate like a rocket sled. [Edit: Please don't hold me to that Date. Development of Q-Comps has been saddening in this slowness.]

***** Sheer optimism. But also a general since of experience and history. The Dec Alpha Chip, which was lauded at "a Supercomputer in a single chip" back in the 1990s, eventually gave way to more modern, more powerful, and far less expensive, chips that make the Dec Alpha look like a old X386 today. This only took about 10 or so years to accomplish. With the interest and desire to make more powerful computers, a Q-Comp used to help develop more and better Q-Comps is a general "no-brainer: While the specific timescale is not clear, it is reasonable to assume that once the effort is undertaken it will happen VERY quickly.

Sadistic Pink No government on the Earth would ban/outlaw a computer technology, even if it directly lead to Skynet. Just like the nation with the biggest army and/or best weapons can best defend itself, its friends and allies, or conquer the world, Q-comps will play a huge role in that. Since only Civilian firms developing Computer technology, the "Govt boogeyman", is not going to even try to step in. If anything it annoys the US Govt that the D-wave, the first mass-producible, if actually impractical, Q-comp is Canadian. The fact that China could buy one, or several is a rel problem that can only be answered by buying and making our own. If for an instant you think the US Govt or any government would do such a thing, you are far too far gone to ever really talk to. BTW, Q-comps won't replace actual deicison making. What will make Govt work better is to stop re-electing the same slack jawed, white racist bastards who treat their constituents like morons, to be exploited, so they can run the country into the ground while saying its the other guys fault. But then I'm talking to one of the very people whose votes are EXACTLY part of the problem.

Sadistic Pink You don't see anything clearly and if you do, you are deliberately bending the facts to fit a sick little fantasy where everything sucks just so your life doesn't seem so terrible. Yes you are part of the problem and really you are not doing anything AT ALL to improve the situation. Spouting "goVt sUx!" doesn't make you clever or smart and it certainly doesn't have ANYTHING to do with being hip on Q-comps. So please go back under your rock.

While I can understand the appeal of being able to say that you have a quantum computer in your home, ultimately they won't be used for common everyday uses. Quantum computers aren't really a replacement for classical computers. They're actually not faster than classical computers, in fact they're probably a bit slower. The sense in which they're better is that it takes far fewer calculations to reach an intended product, seeing as each individual qubit contains so much more information than a classical bit. Though, when it comes to watching a movie or playing a video game, quantum computing isn't really needed. Classical computing would suffice.

Funny as it may be, It actually wont run minecraft. Quantum computer is capable of processing shit ton of data, but the speed of each cycle is so slow that you will get like 0.1 fps in minecraft. Basically its complete fail when it comes to processing data in real-time. Think it as a very big truck that can literally hold whole planets in its cargo. However its very slow. And think normal computers as super-fast-racing cards. Also it should be able to run anything a normal computer can run. But as i said its going to be slow so its going to use a very diffrent system. In the end it still uses bits, MachineLanguage basically. But its very likely they will use a normal processor to run the main system and only pass complex algoritms into quantum computer.

If they can optimize this machine and develop it into a more efficient, targeted processor, it would literally change the world and everything that you see around you. Imagine a series of algorithms that evolve itself due to it's capacity to store and process information a million times more efficiently than China's fastest supercomputer. It would be able to solve any problem we throw at it; answer any question we give it in mere seconds rather than taking a million years with a traditional digital computer. Simply by generating an infinite number of scenarios using cause & effect as it's driving factor. A successful quantum computer could also be used to analyze the 2.5 quintillion bits of data us humans produce on a daily basis, breaking no sweat at all. We're talking about a single computer being fully capable of processing, making predictions, and result calculations from the vast data trails being generated by astronomers, cosmologists, physicists, climatologists, geophysicists, meteorologists, oceanographers, seismologists and many others. With that being said it could be used as a tool for police departments in preemptive policing and basic government functions only seen in syfy movies. It could even go as far into the private sector by churning out more efficient innovations of current products and ways of doing things. Creating new inventions that would take humans centuries to figure out alone. It's no wonder why Google and other tech giants are putting BIG money on developing the first successful quantum computer.

whenever scientists make figurative statements like "ask the computer" it seems to confuse a lot of people. When the scientist says "I want to ask the computer" or "get the computer to tell me" they mean they want to use the computer to do experiments they can't currently do, and so get answers they can't currently get. Scientists and educators should keep this in mind. And regular people, if what they say makes no literal sense consider they might be using an analogy, ask for clarification.

The way we think, is not a "standard" way of thinking. A lot of animals on this planet think faster and can remember longer than humans. Now imagine that if you were born, the whole universe would have been different. A universe without light, without gravity, without anything we know. The universe we are in right now, is not a "standard" universe. It is not that it was all meant to be like this. We are in this universe, so we are also RANDOM. Our way of thinking is a complete random way of thinking. We could have thought in very different ways, that we can not imagine. Machines are nothing but physical objects. Even if computers could become more intelligent than humans, it could be in a very different way. The fact that they could speak like us or solve OUR problems faster, doesn't mean anything about their intelligence, it only means something compared to our intelligence, so since our intelligent is RANDOM, we can never measure intelligence from a "standard" perspective. FarryEntertainment Your English is perfect. The simple fact is humans, as individuals, aren't that intelligent, e.g. during the 16,000 years that the mongolian race inhabited the Americas, over 50 million human beings living a nomadic life failed to even invent the wheel. It is the animal called society that is intelligent and we are merely components of that. Cut off from society and human contact from birth, we would just be drooling morons. Technology has increased exponentially because of improved communication, linking human beings in an entirely new way. I don't believe this is a random process, I believe it is driven by Nature until we can leave this planet and spread Earth's seed. Basically we will be Earth's sperm. The Earth is patient but, if we fail to deliver, we will just become part of the fossil record and another lifeform will evolve to fill the gap. Currently, I think we are on a knife edge but it's a very exciting time to be alive.
