Well done Leonard. I thought I saw you on the day and wanted to say hello but wasn't 100% sure it was you. The views and descent around Chapmans peak were spectacular! It was a terrific route and the best organized event I think I've ever done, a real tribute to South Africa and the organizers. Chapeaux!

Well done Leonard. As a large gent myself (6'3"and 120kgs) and almost 73 years old I really enjoyed that you enjoyed the Cape Cycle Tour. I know every meter of the ride as I have done it 28 times. Hope you are able to come back and do it again.Keith Gales🚴

Glad you enjoyed! I live in CT and have done it 9 times. But I get to cycle most of that route on a regular basis. One never tires of it. This year I did it on a tandem with my 11 year old son. It was a very special experience and he had the time of his life :)

One of the great things about the event is the little touches - so for example they individualise your ride body number with the number of tours you have done for example. Ride it next year and you will have learnt the course and go sub 5. Hopefully number 3 for me next year - I Managed a 3.14 ride but want that exclusive sub 3!

The logistics were taken care of my Ingo at Equatours. I booked my own flight, though and brought my bike with me from the UK

I remember cycling Chapmans peak as part of a 2 week cycling trip to South Africa. I went in 2022 and our group was one of the first tourists let back into the country since covid, Boy was they pleased to see us and made us all very welcome. Its a awesome country especially loved the long wide roads cycling from Cape town along the coast.

Huge congrats Leonard. Thanks for giving this coverage to our city. I must say it looked less crowded than I heard it had become (the ride). Glad the weather was mostly in your favour this year too. A few years ago it had to be called off because the wind was too strong. Hope we see you back here soon.
