Jjbm1971 AJ I actually kinda liked how Mapleshade acted as a sort of mentor for him for a bit of his book. Even though he was from Thunderclan she still taught him how to fight and defend himself, despite him being a medicine cat. One problem I have is that literally EVERY medicine cat from the main series books (not counting DOTC), starting from Into the Wild going up to River of Fire, has been forced to become a medicine cat. Seriously Thunderclan, get yo business together! Riverclan has more willing medicine cats than you!! (Puzzlii did a video on this, go check it out) Thank you for coming to my TED talk

Goosefeather is definitely one of the most under-rated characters in the series. It's kinda sad how he and Yellowfang were actually forced into their roles because of the powers they were born with. They never even got to decide their own path because their powers made it impossible for them to be anything other than medicine cats. Spottedleaf and Leafpool were literally the only medicine cats of ThunderClan to who could willing choose their course of life.

Cold Company Exactly, I feel that leaders mainly don’t understand the sacrifices a medicine cat has to make. They aren’t allowed love or kits and they can’t give favouritism to cats. They are practically tormented with prophecies and the pressure of saving their clan on their back. Also if you considered Spottedleafs heart to be cannon ( I don’t to be honest) she had to become the thunderclan medicine cat to escape thistleclaws and the likes. So pretty much the only medicine cats that are willing we’re Leafpool and Featherwhisker as far as we know. It’s kind of messed up.

Spottedleaf became a medicine cat because she was afraid Thistleclaw would become leader and make her fight and kill people so she became a medicine cat to avoid this. Leafpool got pressed into being a medicine cat by sandstorm. Nobody wants to be a doctor.

@@dailie9321 They would be less sacrifices if my flight didn’t decide to ruin life for all her medicine cats I know she had a rough time of it with her own cats but they were 1 million other ways she could’ve handled it and prevented problems she could’ve said that the clan had to help with medicine cat kits or say that a medicine cat couldn’t have them until they had an apprentice

Spoiler alert for those who haven’t read Crookedstar’s Promise but: Goosefeather seems like a good medicine cat right..? How come he literally ruins Crookedstar’s life when he broke his jaw, which cause his parents to divorce, his mom not loving him anymore, and literally every cat but his brother can’t look him in the eye.... Medicine cats are supposed to be gentle. (Not that other medicine cats aren’t)I literally cried when Goosefeather broke his jaw! What is your favorite character? (Mine is Yellowfang)
