Watching this stuff motivates me so much to keep going! Just to see them in prepping an just what the life would be the work still involved but man let me get it! and I love watching goose rise I was super lucky to play the stage they did the year of peach but I didn’t even really know who they were then. Thanks for this. This is awesome! Loved Taboose tour. Would do it again... anytime. Those arena drone shots are awesome. Around 8 mins. Trey teaching Rick about his sustain techniques. I creamed my pants at the prospect of Rick using more sustain in his peaks. Then 12:20 in Trey shows the sustain off in the show with goose. Man I loved this tour so much. Also yes Jeff, that is the basic technique for the steamer. But it never feels as satisfying as ironing. I refuse to do either FWIW.

It is so neat to watch Trey being possibly the coolest guy ever. I guess I forget how much of a sound and music nerd he really is. I guess you sort of have to be completely obsessed in order to be the driving phorce behind Phish

I think have to be to be a truly “great” musician, especially as a guitarist. You can’t ever develop an ear for developing your own “voice” without that relentless pursuit. It’s what makes him him, vs the 99% of people that just buy the gear, just copy someone else’s rig as closely as they can because they wanna sound like that person. It’s so much more than being a gear-head; It’s a way of being. “Listening for the secret, searching for the sound, but I can only hear the preacher, and the baying of his hounds”

Thank Y' all SO much! saw phish in 93 and it was over. always wanted to talk feedback and guitar shop with Trey. Zappa and one of my music instructors were doing a feedback documentary for PBS long ago but it never aired. feedback is truly fascinating. thank you for sharing. i kinda got that chance. thank you! and if yall ever in Salida, CO id love to throw down with ya! peace!

I also steam my shirts rather than iron. The trick is to hold your hand in front of the steamer until it burns the shit out of your hand. Then you know you are ready to steam on!
