This is sad. GoPro is steadily losing market share because they refuse to lower their prices in the face of ever increasing competition and market saturation. And stepping on the little guys isn't the way to make themselves look better.

This is ridiculous, it would be like Apple suing OtterBox or other case companies because they make cases for their phones...GoPro can't kill off companies that make accessories for their products, solely so they can monopolize on the accessories market, that's what it looks like they are trying to do.

GoPro is hurting right now. Drone recall, bad sales. They should focus on fixing things not attacking small businesses

Exactly what happen to us. The different is, we are just community user. Not a company. Back in 2014, we created this community for gopro user here in Indonesia named GOPROID. passing the 1st year, we become the largest Gopro user community in Indonesia. And suddenly, our instagram account deleted by instagram without any warning. Same thing happen to other Instagram accounts that using Gopro word or part of it as their username. We've tried to contact the gopro and instagram. No luck. After searching the Internet and contacting others who might concern, we found out the reason our account being shut down was because Gopro have patented the word "Gopro" and "Hero" trademark. By that, they ask Instagram to deleted our account. Thats just it, our community, our hard work, our trust as user to the brand we use, were deleted. We feel betrayed by the one who suppose to be supporting us. Don't they realize that we voluntarily endorse their brand?. But we can't abandon our community, because people inside it are our friends, our family. So we rename our community into GPROID until now. But the scars remain. Our community keeps running, without any contact or any support from the Gopro. I think it's time to let people in Gopro know, what they did was wrong. You can't stand alone. You need support. You need others. We are not a competitor. We should support each other, not killing each other. Thank You Devin for this video. :)

GoPro is already standing on burning platform, the moment DJI will release action camera they are done, they should act humble and be thankful to this company, who in any means support GoPro by making accessories which they never made for their own products, I hate when these big companies tries to eat small ones, I hope they understand and realize their mistake, otherwise KARMA will hit them like its already hitting them so hard.

100% behind goscope, I just bought a GoPole too (but same deal). GoPro loses all of my respect if they get rid of those little companies. If they succeed I'm selling my GoPro and buying a Sony, no tolerance for this bullshit

The reason GoPro is doing this is because their stock is in the gutter and GoPro is most likely going to start making these accessories as a way to boost revenue ... GoPro had to recall the karma drones and sales on the hero5 were much lower than expected.

This is ridiculous - if Goscope had doen something like design their logo to be confusion it would be one thing. I would never confuse Goscope with GoPro themselves. Companies have to protect the IP, Brand and trademarks but this seems ridiculous and now seems like GoPro having declining revenues is going after companies selling accessories. This is signal of a company in desperation mode and I think there is a strong possibility that GoPro in a year will not be the company we have seen in the past.

One of the hardest things to do is to get people to believe in your dream, but it can be one of the most impactful ways to support a small company. You forgot to mention the fact that the new 1.55 update doesn't except any aftermarket battery's other then the $20 OEM battery. Now company's like wasabi have aftermarket battery's that are useless. Such a shame.

Hey man your an amazing person for making this video and trying to help out small businesses. This is just heartbreaking that GoPro would try to shut down a small business that makes no impact on GoPro revenue. All this is going to do is limit the use of GoPro cameras, i have found off brand accessories that work better for me then the main brand. Sometimes the main brand accessories are just so expensive for people to afford when they are starting out a business. While watching this video, I put myself in GoScopes shoes for a moment. This would be like you telling me that i cant watch your videos to learn tips and tricks and that would be heartbreaking because I watch your videos over and over again to see how to make the best use of your equipment. I just hope that GoPro gets this message and stops the legal action on GoScope.

I'm glad I came across this. I was contemplating buying the new Gopro to replace.my old v2 gopro and I'm definitely holding off to show support for GoScope. Definitely sharing this with everyone else.

The thing is that these companies are making camera accessories not necessarily just for the GoPro, they're making them for all action cameras and other cameras. It's like saying Sony want all other companies to stop selling lenses for their cameras that aren't made by Sony or Apple stopping other companies from selling phone cases for their phones that aren't made by apple. GoPro are honestly just giving themselves a bad name doing this.

+devingraham they are issuing a ton of "cease and desist" requests to many small companies that they never cared about previously. this is part of GoPros new business strategy for 2017. btw Nick Woodman is well aware. GoPros market share is recently being encroached on big time and they are nervous .

This is crazy and so frustrating for a small business like goscope :( I actually starting a business like that, Making accessories for cameras, drones, backpacks etc. With the help of my instagram accounts (@redcamerausers & @cameragrail). and seeing what big companies are doing with small companies like goscope its scary since they're putting all the effort and money on their business. I got in trouble with Red Digital Cinema for having my "RED" account on instagram that it almost got shut down but luckily I got in a agreement with them and I kept it going. I know how it feels when something that you put so much effort on, gets almost terminated. I hope everything goes well for goscope! ✌🏻️ And big respect for you devin that speak out for the small companies! 👍🏼👌🏻 💙
