Soooooo I have a lot of videos coming out for the hero11, and i looked through comments and see a lot of you writing and asking for certain tests so you can see it before you buy it...
I actually really like the hero 11... it doesn't look like a big upgrade but I see a huge difference!

Great comparison! 👍I like and use Linear the most, it produces the most professional looking footage. Wide and Superview are good for action and sport shots. But this new Hyperview, i don't know if i'd ever use it, it's too trippy for me 😵

Great comparison. Linear is what I tend to leave on when I vlog with the GoPro but the wide looks a lot less warped than it used to (in older models) to me.

Glad you are liking the camera Danny! Hyperview should come with a health warning. "Do not spin the camera around when using this lens"!

It's great to even more options for FOV, they all their use case. GoPro keeps improving their products in ways I didn't even know I need. Great information, and thanks for sharing.

I mainly use the 10 for tubing and kayaking down the river and would prefer Wide, but Linear is the only setting available for Horizon Leveling. I'm "stuck" with Linear, otherwise all the movement riding the water would definitely result in slanted horizon very often. Thanks for the great comparison.

I'm still a fan of Linear with horizon lock for general walk around videos, but there's also a time and a place for Supervise. Not a fan of the new Hyperview from what we can see in this review, it just looks way too distorted.

Great comparison video. I am trying to test and see which FOV is best for a dash mounted Gp11 for recording the driver. Seems like Linear or Linear+. Any thoughts?

i usually shot all our dives with 4k 60 wide and i rarely use linear but recent shots made by v-light photography well it does makes me wonder, thinking i would definitely try it soon. nice comparison by the way. good to know it before purchasing one.

Is the superview and hyperview linear or with bent fisheye ? Difficult to see on the trees. Skyscapers would make it easy to see.

As Australia used 50Hz, do you setup the gopro to 50?, hence you get 25,50,100 fps instead of 30,60,120. any noticeable difference there

From my own testing, it seems like Hyperview does pretty good for stationary POV shots (like driving or riding), but is pretty terrible for walking/running - too much distortion. I've noticed that shooting 8x7 and then cropping 16:9 still gives more perspective than classic Superview plus no distortion. My 2 cents

Can you have the wide lens mod on for the eclipse in April and shoot in linear? Or is it better to keep the wide lens mod off for that?

Thanks for this. I was hoping this model had Linear mode so I could use it for streaming. Linear+ doesn't look bad but does it affect lighting? There seemed to be a difference between Linear and Linear +. Wouldn't mind seeing that in a more controlled environment.

I love the hyper view you can obviously see a something different when you move the camera round but when there’s a subject in the video like peolle cars or whatever it might be it don’t look too bad I think it’s just somthing to get use to really

What about 8:7 and 4:3 aspect ratios? FOV will be different there.

If you do a lot of panning camera moves don't choose hyperview, it can cause motion sickness

I'm not saying this to defend my ownership and rockin' of my GoPro Hero 10 and 7 but this Hero 11's Hyperview distortion while panning/turning is quite unpleasant to the eye...

Yeah, it is. But I can tell that having it is quite a nice thing. Specially underwater, where you got naturally cropped FOV.. but yes, it causes some vertigo like things...

Yeah, I'm a superview fan and the Hyperview distortion is often too much for even me. I noticed it doesn't do well for moving POV shots - much more suited to driving or riding, from my testing. That said, the 8x7 sensor really is nice, since you can crop a 16:9 shot out of it and still have more perspective than a traditional superview.

Seemed choppy during turning around... I think that comparison of FOV ought to be stationary so it is actually possible to see the difference

Hyperview = Hyper-digital-distortion . Only for internal car view or bike pov. My opinion

They made a mistake with the square sensor, the FOV are all warped too much except linear. New action 3 wins on FOV here
