Cycling down the TF21 from the beginning of the Teide National Park down to Vilaflor. This is the first part of a 2 part decent down the TF21, it gives you a good idea of the number of switch back and a real appriciation of the lack of cars. I think I counted more cyclists in the video. Speeds are something in the region of 70kph / 43 mph. The road surface is not perfect but generally very good. The second part of the TF21 after Vilaflor is slightly better quality and can be seen in part 2.

This reminds me of some of the old road trips through the Alps I took back in 87/90.. Never had the cam tech to produce as beautiful images as you have.. Brings back great memories, thanks.

I did this a few days ago after climbing from Las Americas via Chio. Honestly one of the best descents I've ever done . Both roads down from Vilafior are great too. nice video.

Hired a bike yesterday and cycled from Adeje to the cafe at the top of Teide. Should have done more training!! Took me 3h55. Didn't descent as fast as you. Nice video!!

It's the best feeling to get to the cafe, good effort! I think the speed of descent just comes from practice.... I'm off again in a few weeks and will be uploading some videos upon my return.

I was leaning into the bends in my chair! Did a similar thing in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, on mountain bikes...no cars to worry about but did have a problems with Sheep/Goats! ATB

Looks like an excellent road surface: that'll be where a slice of the public sector borrowing went. Money well spent ;)

Very crudely with cable ties attached to the stem. No fancy attachments....

Stay away from the TF-38 road its a shocking condition road. Cycled it today.

it's better than it was a few years back but I agree its a road to ascend and not descend unless you like a brutal side wind and to be shaken to bits.
