Oh, that's pretty nice! I think the Osmo Acrtion is also a very capable camera. But the GoPro... Well - there are a bunch of accessories you can use 😇

Please don't. DJI Osmo action is far better than any GoPro, and even better if you get the pocket. I can't believe people even dare to make a comparison videos. believe me, the word action in GoPro does not imply, I have Two of them, totally unreliable in the heat of the action they just go freeze or crash, plus if you don't have the perfect light, they will give you a rubbish image.

Great video! I was looking at a Rode microphone, as I film outside and sound is an issue. I just saw the Media mod with Built-in directional mic - hpw does that rate to the Rode? Would save me buying one and I love that it has the 2 cold-shoe mounts too!

Yeah the cold-shoe mounts are a nice addon; As for the Media-mod microphone - it performs well; I'm just not too convinced whether it is worth the money - but if you look for simplicity - there's nothing better.

Hey! I noticed that when using the Ulanzi cage with a filter attached, it covers the microphone on the front of the GoPro. How does that affect audio quality for someone who doesn't use an external mic?

I lose hypersmooth when I reduce the shutter speed. Did you have any issues?

This is expected - because the Hypersmooth and generally - EIS - is dependant on shutter speed. This is where we may add gimbals to the picture 😇😇

Great film, thanks for sharing. However, have I missed something? At 4.46 you show the comparison between the ND filter (top) and auto settings (bottom) but I prefer the bottom image for clarity and colour. Have you got the captions wrong?

Most people prefer sharper image with many details; however when it comes to more cinematic footage - that motion blur is very important as it feels more natural and light to watch.

I bought 3 accessories with my hero7 silver. Headband, tripod, suction cup and I can totally see myself using the other 2 but one I use most suction cup for my car GoPro is amazing for car videos of catching those “drivers” on the road lol

That's what often the firmware warns you about. But I never noticed a feature that doesn't work. So I guess it is a warning to make us buy GoPro batteries😊

There is a cut on the side, so there's quick access to the USB port and you can easily charge it.

Would be interesting to know approximately how long the Neewer batteries last compared to a GoPro battery (doing the same asks/type of video, etc). Luckily the GoPro batteries are only $20 and I don't shoot a ton of video (not a vlogger, I mainly use mine when I travel) but I'd like to have at least 3 batteries (although the difference between $20 and $40 isn't bad and it's not like you're spending hundreds extra on spare batteries like you might with an actual camera -- DSLR/mirrorless).

Yeah, GoPro batteries are surprisingly affordable. The Neweer batteries feel like 10-20% less compared to a normal battery. However my original battery has degraded very quickly, so right now it lasts way less than my GoPro Hero 7 and the Neweer batteries.

Thanks for great Video, does battery last long, I am using Gopro 7 and battery life is extremely low, i am using in buillt charger but it gets heated and start throwing error, are these problems taken care in GoPro8? Like you showed I also carry 3-4 batteries.

Nothing that will work well with the camera. Better get a bigger camera with proper optics.

Thank you for the review on these products. I purchased 3 items from your list but I'm having some trouble with two of them hoping someone could help me out. I purchased a Gobe circular lens filter that is labeled ND2-400 and is 52mm as well as the Ulanzi G8-5 GoPro 8 Vlog case that is supposed to come with a 52mm filter attachment. I tried to thread the Gobe filter onto the Ulanzi case and the threads do not seem to be lining up correctly. I've tried very delicately and carefully to tighten the threads but it seems to be forcing unwanted wear. I don't want to damage the case or the lens so I'm not sure what to do. Is there something I'm missing? Could this be a factory defect on one of the products or an error on my part? Looking for any suggestions, help or hopefully bringing this to light to others who may be having similar issues. If someone could give me some input or thoughts, I look forward to hearing from anyone if they have any thoughts or help. I'd greatly appreciate it!!

Hey Ron, I really hope that my comment doesn't arrive too late. Yeah - most likely is an issue with ome of the threads , and I will suspect the Ulanzi case. Can you go to a random camera shop and ask to try another 52mm filter? Will clearly show where the issue is.

This is all really new to me and not I'm really sure where to go or what to look for. I live in Greensboro, NC not sure if that helps but if you have any suggestions I be would greatly appreciate it. I ended up sending the lens back through Amazon. I really liked that type of adjustable lens. I just hope it isn't an issue with the Ulanzi case and that I could get the same type of lens with different threads possibly.

After watching your video, this weekend I just order a Go Pro Hero 8 Black and added the Ulanzi Cage you demo'ed for Strength and support along with some other accessories. I want to use it as versatile as possible such as using it as a streaming webcam and saw the Media Mod has the ability to offer HDMI and 3.5mm jack among other things. Is the Media Mod an absolute requirement for using Go Pro 8 Hero Black as a streaming web cam or can I use the Ulanzi here that you mentioned (I ordered it first) along with the a ext microphone adapter which possibly has an HDMI out on it?? I'm not sure if that would be just for the Microphone peripherals or possibly a workaround for anyone not looking to buy the Media Mod but still wants HDMI out to plug into their Elgato Camlink 4k...Overwall, I wish to not have to buy 2 different Cases unless absolutely necessary. Please let me know. Thanks.

The Media Mod is not a requirement for streaming. The Ulanzi cage is great, and you can pair it with the mic adapter for Hero 7.

@@TechMishka The Hero 7 is "not" what I bought. Again, I bought the Hero 8 which does not have such an HDMI out like the Hero 7 does. I ended up buying the Mod and only use it for indoor webcam needs. Outdoors I only use the Ulanzi due to it's ruggedness.

Hey Sebi - the major thing you need is light. Sunny bright days. If there are clouds - make sure less of the sky is visible. I most of the time shoot with Auto settings, 4K 30fps with normal Hypersmooth on. Sharpness to normal, bitrate - high. Color mode - Flat - and then you can color grade in post production (increase saturation, vibrance, sharpness, or decrease any of them if needed)

Your Video is about the GoPro Hero 8, The link you posted for the batteries is only for Hero 5,6 or 7. Do you have the correct link?

Batteries are the same for Hero 5 and up including Hero 8

That question is very reasonable! I would also go for the cage and the mic adapter over the media mod.

I did find, and maybe you mentioned this and I missed it, that you need the media mod to use the display mod. Haven't found a cage that supports that feature.
