GoPro settings: 5.3k 25/50p WB - 5500K for 90% of shots 10-Bit - ON Bit-Rate - HIGH HyperSmooth - AUTOBOOST FOV - LINEAR for 99% of shots Color - FLAT Sharpness - LOW Everything was shot handheld with a selfie stick. I used the exposure lock feature to lock the exposure on the majority of the shots. All clips were heavily graded in Final Cut Pro. You can use ND filters if you want. I don't use them on the GoPro without a gimbal. When shooting at slow shutter speeds, the HyperSmooth stabilization performance degrades.

I like the cinematic look, for me the colours remind me old ORWO film and everything a tad to dark, but I understand this was your artistic choice. Great work. Amazing you can do so cinematic video with so tiny camera 📸.

Roma, fantastic job! Stunning footage. Does it take a while to color grade, or can you do it fairly fast now? Edit: What were your shutter settings & iso settings?

Cheers! Color grading the entire video took me about an hour. Since I locked the exposure with spot metering, the shutter speed and ISO settings are irrelevant(they were set to AUTO). Hope that helps..

I shoot only in 16:9. I never experienced overheating issues with my GoPro in real world scenarios. However, I only do short bursts of clips, maybe 1-2m tops…

The color grading looks amazing and the shots are beautiful. the last quintessence would be to add some motion blur in my opinion.

Thanks. Unless I have a gimbal with me, I avoid using ND filters with the GoPro.

As far as I know it’s hard to produce a natural motion blur effect in post.. It’s better to use ND filters and make it in camera..

Yes, I do slow down some of my footage in post-production. I apply this to ALL of the slow motion (50/100p) clips I shoot.

Thanks for the reply. Do you slow your footage down by a particular amount (ie. a set percentage)?- Your footage doesn’t look like it’s the typical slow-mo, but just enough to give a slightly ‘cinematic’ look. Cheers!
