I had one done at Bristol Ren Fair in 1995, and they didn't do anything to finish the inside or base...It was hollow and weak, and after some time, it wouldn't stand up on its own. Plus, the blue dye stained the wood of my furniture...If I ever did it again, I would have them do several layers of uncolored wax on the bottom.
