Well I mean Rickson was also overly confident. The guy still repeats to this day that he has won over 400 fights and has never lost. Is it true? I have no idea but I would say he is even more confident than Godron Ryan is. What is particular about jiu-jitsu is that it gives you confidence. Not just in jiu-jitsu or fighting in general. I have found and have seen in others it gives them confidence in a lot of aspects of life. So for Gordon to embrace that principle to such an extreme, he is just doing what Helio and Rickson have done already, and the jiu-jitsu "religion" (as I call it) loves that kind of stuff. Confidence can breed confidence. Now, some might not love Gordon because he isn't a Gracie, he doesn't train in the gi, he doesn't speak portegese, and he is not Brazillian.

Its the borderline behaviour between confidence and narcissism. Either way it doesnt matter. Gordon is a hell of a grappler.

I know these interviews have been shot before the pena fight so you can give the interviewer a mic retrospectively, but you can at least put some subitles...
