"Gordon's Run" | A 75th Anniversary Special of The Railway Series

To commemorate 75 Years of the Railways Series by Rev. W Awdry. I have created a music video in Railworks using UpsideNow's Gordon Theme. Go check out his channel and his content!

Thomas and friends was Gordon's story especially the books. Gordon was and forever will be my favorite out of all the characters in the show.

Having realistic, faceless versions of the Sodor fleet is an aesthetic i like. Kinda wish people would make adaptations with these models.

Yes this is what the Sodor engines would look like in real life. Not sure if any examples of Gordon's class were ever painted blue in BR days... Given that a number of Henry's class still exist I'm surprised there has never been a real life Henry!

@@danielsellers8707 I believe that the Gresley A3’s (what many of the A1s were rebuilt as) were sometimes painted in BR express Passenger blue. The LMS black 5 I believe never actually operated in any liveries that weren’t black. One may have been painted Brunswick green in early preservation days but I’m not sure!

Actually, if you check our Railway Mania if you haven’t already they’re producing a more realistic version of the Island of Sodor with the main fleet as well as a large number of their own locomotives! They’re on here as railway mania or sudrian spotlight for model showcases!

The funny thing about that story, and the other Thomas' Train, was that Rev. Awdry based them off of actual events of the Northeastern Railway. Apparently in London, there were so many trains coming and going that the railway started uncoupling one train that had arrived and coupling another leaving. On one occasion, the outbound train started without having been coupled up. On another, the incoming train was literally dragged out of the station in reverse by the outbound engine pulling the return train.

If Sodor's Gordon is meant to be the Duke of Gordon or is modelled on it then his blue colour here is more authentic. I like how he has his nameplate on his side.

Imagine someone makes a Thomas and Friends animation but the trains a realistic and the characters would be conductors instead. After all, Wilbert and the Thomas and Friends franchise in the early days did base some of the events on real life events. I also vote for a remasterd version of this video. In a more updated graphically visually improved game.

the fact that Gordon was allowed to make the run TO LONDON! is no easy feat, but Gordon is a Class A1 locomotive more specifically big blue 4-6-2 ('Pacific') ex-London and North Eastern Railway Gresley Class A1 locomotive. Basically same class as The Flying Scotsman.....that London run is a walk in the park for Gordon, exercise essentially, makes me tear up with pride💞💞💞💞

Actually Gordon is not an A1. He was built as an experimental A0 prototype. Scott as everyone knows was built as an A1 They were both later transformed into A3s.

Question: how did you get Percy to work? I can never get him to appear with the bunker - he's invisible. I had to disable the coal bunker for him to appear at all.

You need to have the Isle of Wight DLC in order for it to work and you have to make a scenario for the bunker to appear

@@hobbitnerdsteamworks Did that and I have the dlc. Funny thing is that he'll show up *once* on the track in the editor, but then when I click the play button he disappears! And then he won't appear on the track no matter how many times I place him on the track.
