Can you imagine how awkward it must be for Celestia and Luna to see each other in death? Like Luna is just like: Hey sister, sorry I killed you but I'm dead too so we cool right?

My theory of transpired events! Luna eventually succumbs to nightmare moon again, leading to the betrayal of her to her sister. After killing celestia, the other two princesses banished luna, leading to her frozen death. Cadance was overcome with grief and killed herself, leaving Twilight to rule everything. Someone is displeased with Twilight and killed her, leaving all four princesses dead. Now poor flurry is the last princess and the stress of her rulership is on her shoulders as she has huuuge shoes to fill. Edit: thanks for the feedback!!!❤ Also poor flurry. Momless and possibly dadless and left to raise ALL of equestria....

Out of all of them, Luna's has to be the worst. She more than likely slowly froze to death, alone, cold (pun intended), scared and in constant darkness, metaphorically and literally. Just alone on the moon, miles and miles away from her home, chained to the object she was born to control and was made to die on. Just so creepy....

Princess Flurry Heart quietly walked along the red carpet of the large castle hallway, head down low. They we're all gone..and she was alone. The young princess stopped walking when she reached a tall door in front of her. Her horn illuminated the room as the quicken unlocked the grand doors, and walking in. The throne room. It had been abandoned ever since Twilight's assassination. Twilight..The alicorn heaved a sigh, as she lifted her head to look around the large room. It was dimly lit by the setting sun shinning through the stained glass windows. Flurry Heart had came here to mourn, but apart of her felt something different. It was confusion, because there was a large new window above the old throne. She had never seen this window before...what was it? The princess trotted toward the window, looking up, before slowly coming to a halt and gasping quietly. The stained glass window showed an image, and it wasn't the elder princesses deaths...it was herself with them. Flurry Heart was in the middle of the stained glass, eyes closed peacefully and standing, while a bright ball of magic flew from her horn. The other four princesses had been in the other corners of the somewhat rectangular picture, their horns casting magic as well. The other royals in the window were giving Flurry their magic, all smiling peacefully as well. The window's stained glass gave a somewhat rainbow themed glow. And that's when Flurry Heart realized... She wasn't alone. The other princesses may be gone, but they were still there. Watching over the young princess. Flurry's gaze fell to the abandoned throne, and she slowly approached. The princess had a new responsibility, and her family was with her in spirit, guiding and protecting her. It would take a while, and a lot of stress would come, but Flurry would take the job. Equestria wouldn't be in shambles anymore. Well, that's what she had hoped for. But not everything can be fixed...

My small connection theory. I have a hard time believing that Luna would kill her sister after what happened the first time she tried to. Celestias death: Chrysalis some how breaks free and takes the form of nightmare moon trying to frame Luna for the death of her sister. Cadence and Twilight fall for the trick and banish Luna back to the moon. Lunas death: Assuming that Celestia had some sort of spell that kept luna from dying the first time. Since Celestia is dead, there is no spell keeping Luna alive, so she slowly freezes to death. Cadence:After chrysalis reveals the truth Cadence is heart broken and chrysalis flees to the crystal empire tp kill shining armor. Being the princess of love, this takes extra effect on her. Causing her heart to literally break. Twilight: After all 3 princesses are dead, twilight is forced to take the throne, with flurry heart at her side. The 2 remaining alicorns pledge a war against chrysalis but unknown to them, Sombra was recently released. While leading her army into battle, Twilight is flying along side her pegasus soldiers when a crystal arrow fires from the ground, piercing the princess of friendship. Aftermath: After all 4 princesses are dead, being the only remaining alicorn in equestria, flurry heart takes her place on the throne. Now she has to finish what the original 4 started. :)

The art of Princess Lunas death, was actually made on my birthday- Fun fact for Blits: To me, it felt like a birthday present I never could’ve asked for.

Small theory: The reason Luna didn’t freeze the first time she was sent to the moon was because she knew she was coming back; she still had hope, warmth in her heart, and her own magic. But this time she knew she was never to return, and that threw her heart into such agony and regret that she gave up, letting the cold get to her.

My Theory: Celestia died to Nightmare moon, causing a huge problem throughout equestria. Because of this, Princess Candance took the responsibility of being both of them, banishing Nightmare moon (And Luna) to the moon again. Luna, knowing she wasnt going to be let back off the moon any time soon, started to lose hope and eventually froze to death. That night, everyone panicked when they realized the face on the moon was gone and Luna's body was found later at where she shows up in the show when she returns. Fast forward a bit, Princess Candance is controlling both day, night, and her element and in her grief of her actions (Not being able to protect Celestia and Luna's death), she eventually pulled out her own heart in a way of thinking she didnt deserve it for being heartless, causing her death. Twilight, suddenly hit with all the responsibility before she could handle it, tried to cope with friends which eventually lead her to trusting people too easily. In this group of "friends" was someone looking to take control and seeing Twilight having to take complete control now, assassinated her. That's my TED talk, have a nice day.

(CONTENT WARNING: Death, Extreme Grief, Detailed Gore, Sensitive Topics) *Princess Celestia’s Death:* Princess Celestia woke up just before the Sun was supposed to rise. A few minutes pass, and she begins to walk down the hallway. As she walks, she comes across her little sister’s room. She creeks the door open and glances inside, expecting Luna to be sleeping or dream-visiting. As expected, Luna is nowhere to be found. _Must be visiting dreams again,_ her sister thinks blankly, closing Luna’s door and heading outside. She glides up into the cloudy sky, the sky still dark blue and speckled with stars. She prepares her strength and mentality, focusing on the Sun’s hot and flaming energy. She feels the warmth of the sun starting to peak over the clouds, however, she feels a subtle wind behind her. In an instant, she feels something pierce the back of her neck, and come out her throat. Celestia’s blood spewed everywhere, her eyes opening wide with confusion and terror. She tries to scream for help, but she only coughs up red blood. The horn slides down her back like a knife cutting open a cake, causing more blood to spew everywhere. The last thing Celestia hears is an eerie, wicked, and terrifyingly familiar laugh. It was her sister. *Princess Luna’s Death:* Princess Twilight and Princess Cadence hear of Princess Celestia’s death, quickly overcome with grief and sympathy for Luna. They both decided to visit Equestria, wanting to comfort Luna and the horrifying loss of her sister. Once they arrived at the quiet and melancholic palace, they instantly took note of the dark blue sky and the bright, white moon. The princesses’ bodyguards scoured the area beforehand and reported no guards nor signs of Luna. As they entered the throne room, a pitch black silhouette with flowing sapphire hair was waiting for them. At her hooves was Celestia’s shattered crown. After a long and grueling battle, the remaining princesses managed to banish Nightmare Moon back to the bright moon. (Based off another comment from the actual video!) Moments before Luna was banished to the moon, she protected herself in a bubble full of the Earth’s oxygen. She survived for roughly three Earth days on the moon, before her magic wore out. In her final moments, she questioned what went wrong. What caused *her* to return? And what caused her to murder her only family member? Her only sister? Why? Her thoughts began to fade as her mind froze, along with her blood and body. Her frozen head was locked on the Earth. Home. She would never return there again… *Princess Cadence’s Death:* A couple days ago, Twilight had recently used a spell to check on Luna. She, tragically, found her frozen body chained up to the moon. Her and Cadence were beyond shocked, and overcome with extreme grief. The grief even furthered when it was announced that Shining Armor had passed away. Twilight’s loving older brother, and Cadence’s amazing husband. She just couldn’t take it anymore. Twilight kept telling her that everything was going to be okay, that everything could be fixed if they united together and stayed together… but Cadence had other plans. One night, the night Cadence had returned to the Crystal Empire, she began to break her heart. She split open her chest, flesh by flesh, like a puzzle piece, and ripped out her heart. She grimaced and bit her tongue in pain, but the mental pain she felt was so unbearable. She would see her mentors, her great friends, and her beloved husband soon. I’m so sorry Flurry, her last thought echoed. Flurry Heart found her mother dead the next morning. *Princess Twilight’s Death:* A couple months had passed. Equestria was being run by Twilight and her best friends now, but the entire kingdom was still in great shock. Twilight, fortunately, had her friends to vent to and heal with. It was time to finally have the Remembrance Ceremony. After a long, depressing speech, Twilight shot into the air and prepared herself mentally, like her old mentor used to teach. Tears were still streaming down her face, glimmering in the sunlight. What she didn’t see was the black, long, spikey spear barreling towards her at incredible speed. The citizens gasped, expecting it to be part of the spell. The spear then pierced and stabbed Twilight in the stomach. Spikes started to impale and spread onto her wings, her back, and it was agonizing. Twilight screamed, a loud, terrible and haunting scream. Her blood flew everywhere and dropped onto citizens. She looked down to see her screaming friends’ faces. They were screaming letters and words, but her ears were going numb. Everything hurt. Everything was turning blurry and numb. She plummeted to her death, and Equestria fell into chaos. Aftermath: With Flurry Heart being the last princess alive, she visited Equestria. She rarely visited the room that kept the Four Princesses’ memories and paintings. Whenever she went into that room, she could always feel their presence. It was an odd feeling, but it was comforting to her. (Sorry for the long comment! I haven’t watched MLP since 3rd grade, and I absolutely love Dash’s paintings. If things aren’t accurate, sorry!)

Flurry Heart sighed heavily as she sat in the throne room, left alone after her coronation, the sole ruler of equestria. She was afraid to close her eyes. If she closed her eyes she would remember. Remember Celestia's funeral, the first of many. Remember the trial, in which princess Luna was sentenced to death by Twilight and her mother for reverting back to Nightmare Moon and killing Celestia in a fit of madness. Remember finding her mother, lying on the floor, ribs cracked, bleeding out after ripping out her own heart. There had been a funeral to her too, though there hadn't been one for Luna. It was at that funeral, the earth over her mother still fresh, where Flurry Heart had watched the assassination of her beloved aunt. She had barely escaped with her life. And now, Flurry Heart was alone. All alone, in an empty throne room, the sole leader of equestria. Her mother before her hand been the princess of love, and her aunt the princess of friendship. The princesses of the sun and moon were no longer needed, as a thousand years of moving the planets had left lingering magic to keep them moving. They had all earned their titles. But Flurry had not. She was Equestria's first princess by birthright, and as the first naturally born alicorn, no one could deny her. But still, her heart was heavy. She felt like an impostor. The princess of nothing. That certainly fit with the hollowness inside her chest. Slowly, she closed her eyes, and bowed her head. "I can't do this alone." "Who said you were alone?" Flurry nearly jumped out of her skin. She raised her head, and was shocked to see the glowing, translucent forms of the deceased princesses. "Mom! Auntie Twilight! What- how-?!" She ran over. Celestia smiled. "We are all very powerful, my dear. Magic tends to linger. However, we cannot stay long." Twilight nodded. "Something is pulling us, and we have to move on. But we'll always be with you, right here." She motioned as if to touch Flurry's heart, but she couldn't actually touch her. "No..." fresh tears were forming in her eyes. "Don't leave me..." "My brave girl..." Cadence nuzzled her, though to Flurry it only felt like a cold breeze. "I'm so sorry... I love you so much. Never forget that, okay?" As the spirits faded, Flurry let herself fall to the floor. Her crown had never felt heavier. Princess of nothing indeed. Being called a princess felt wrong. It felt too happy. Too kind. She felt to hollow to take it. Too grown up. A guard entered. "Do you need assistance, princess? I heard voices." Flurry stood, regal in her despair. "I'm fine. And you will address me as your queen."

Watches of crying when watching each death: Celestia: No Luna: Yes Cadance: No Twilight: No

Okay but Cadence though??? The story running through my head was that she wasn't just mourning her husband, but also her daughter, and maybe even an unborn child, with her having gone through a miscarriage. The death of her husband and daughter was already torture, but now she couldn't even keep her child from dying in the womb? What good was a princess who couldn't even protect her family, much less her people? No use at all. The grief and longing was too much for her and eventually she just... stopped. She shut down. Locked herself away from her guards and her citizens. The empire only found out what became of her when a wave of grief swept over them, bringing them to their knees sobbing, and the crystal heart shattered. The guards rushed to get to the Princess' side but it was already too late. All they found was Cadence laying still and silent with an air of finality and acceptance, her own cold dead crystallized heart ripped out of her chest and cradled in her arms like an infant. The Crystal Empire fell to pieces, succumbing to the grief alongside their ruler.

Since I like writing, I'm going to give you a little story based off these pictures. Also, before you expand this comment, I'm sorry if it blows up your phone. Luna was participating in an event that the she and her sister Celestia had planned, many great artists had wanted to know what the eclipse that happened when Luna tried to cover the land in eternal night actually looked like. The two sisters were skeptical, but enough had asked that refusing became nearly impossible, and they gave in, pushing the memories associated with the eclipse aside. They flew above Canterlot, readying for the eclipse, as Twilight and Cadence watched them from below. Luna began using her magic to speed up the moon's movement, and Celestia used her magic to slow the sun. The artists and photographers were getting there wish, and as the moon eventually moved over the sun, the only eyes on the princesses controlling the event were the two who'd watched them prepare it, and they were to far away to warn Celestia of what was happening to Luna. Celestia was telling her sister how beautiful the eclipse was, and when she eventually turned to her sister to share her emotions more, she was met with Nightmare moon, as hatred was not what had created her, it was the eclipse itself that had manifested the hatred into the being that had started attacking Celestia. Celestia was an excellent flier, but Nightmare Moon was faster, and Celestia was fatally wounded by Nightmare moon's attack, but before she could finish her off, luna had regained control. While Nightmare moon was not created by hatred, she was fueled by it, and by the time a second eclipse had allowed her to regain control, Luna had forgiven Celestia, and her hatred for her had dimmed to a faint nagging at the back of her mind. Luna knew instantly what she'd done, and dove down to try and save her already dying sister from the fall. She succeeded in catching her sister, and landed with Celestia in lying in her hooves, Celestia was still alive, although she would not be for long. Celestia opened her mouth to tell her sister one last thing, "It was foolish for us to do this, we should've just told them no." Luna was sobbing, she knew her sister's words were her last, and she agreed with them as much as a pony could agree with anything. Twilight and Cadence had seen Celestia fall, but didn't know of her wounds, so they teleported to the place they thought she'd fallen, and they were right, they could only stand by as Luna sobbed, they knew the wounds wouldn't heal, and there wasn't any way for them to change that. Celestia gave a last breath, and her chest fell for the last time, her body going limp. Luna sobbed harder, and she held her sister's body tighter, knowing Celestia was already gone. Luna only stopped when the sun and moon had finished their eclipse, and she'd only stopped to demand Twilight banish her to the moon once more, and Twilight relented, allowing Luna to banish herself. Luna was imprisoned there once already, her only complaint for it was that it had always been chilly, and the air was a lot thinner there, but it was the only punishment she could give herself. Twilight would continue her everyday routine, with the exception of her brother Shining Armor now having to be her personal body-guard, as with Celestia's death and Luna's banishment, Equestria was left upon her shoulders, Cadence barely able to help with Twilight's extra work. Twilight became overworked very quickly, and petitions to build new facilities and to make new laws went unanswered. The average working Equestrian was fine with the delay, but the richer business owners were losing bits, and they were losing a lot of them. Twilight's guard was smaller than the ponies that were angry though, and one of them was a unicorn who'd recently rediscovered King Sombra's spell, the one he'd used to send crystals out of the ground. They had wanted to open a school where they could teach the magic they'd learned, but Twilight hadn't yet responded to them, and when he found out she simply had never read it, he'd assumed it was because she didn't think it worth her time, not knowing that she'd been tasked with the two previous sisters work, he took to the crowds that had been harassing her for days, and he used his newfound magic in a frenzy of rage, instantly killing most of Twilights guards, her brother included. Twilight could only see the black crystals of king Sombra's spell, and thought that he had returned at Equestria's darkest hour. She was wrong though, it was an Equestrian citizen attacking her in rage, and Equestria's darkest hour was yet to come. The unicorn had thrown a spike of crystal magic, the crystal hitting Twilight as the last of her guards threw a spear, the tip sinking through the assailant as the rest of the rioting crowd finally overtook the last guard. One guard had ran for help, but after seeing Twilight fall, he knew he now had a message he had to deliver, and he took a train to the crystal empire, carrying with him one of Twilight's spare crowns to prove the news was true. He told the guards at Cadence's throne he had urgent information of Twilight and her brother, and his damaged royal guard armor allowed him through immediately. He galloped up to Cadence's throne, the princess now carrying a sword herself to defend herself from harm. The soldier told Cadence the news, and presented the spare crown. She was silent, her next words asked for a room she could have privacy in, and they let her have it. She was in that room for a while, she'd sat in that room for so long that eventually Flurry heart asked to see her, and the guards couldn't say no. Flurry heart found the door hard to open, and it only opened when she bucked it, sending the sword that had prevented it from opening across the room, landing next to the body of her already dead mother. Cadence had used her own sword to crack open her chest, she was already emotionally fragile, and the news had felt like some pony had tore her heart out of her chest. Cadence couldn't handle the loss of Twilight and Shining, so she took what she felt like, and thought about how the real thing might distract her, not thinking about how she would be affected after it. It didn't even distract her though, as when she pulled her heart out she saw a crack, the crack having formed when Celestia died, and expanded beyond what she could bear when she learned of Twilight and Shining Armor's deaths. Flurry Heart called the guards, but they couldn't save her, the damage was to great, and Cadence didn't want to be saved. Flurry Heart went on with her life, coming to rule the crystal Empire for years before annexing Equestria, its citizens having lived in constant war and rioting were grateful for the new order. Without all the elements of harmony though, Luna was un-able to leave her banishment, and when Flurry heart had grown into an adult, she had finally found the next generation of the elements of harmony, but by the time they were used to get Luna back, her body was the only thing remaining. So now Flurry stands in a throne room, filled with empty thrones, feeling she deserves to sit in none of them, even as she feels the past princesses guiding her to them, she still feels as though she hasn't earned it. Celestia: Betrayed and murdered by the one she trusted most. Luna: Exiled; kept hope before she eventually gave up and froze, keeping her friends in mind as she slowly drifted into death's cold grip. Cadence: hit with responsibility after I her friend's death's. She couldn't take it and ripped her heart out, feeling she didn't deserve her life. Twilight: She couldn't keep up and let her guard down, eventually being killed by her own guard

POSSIBLE STORYLINE? Sombra came back from being banished, and visited Luna while she was finishing up her duties in the dream realm using magic, in a weakened and tired state he convinced her she was more powerful than her sister ever was and if she killed her she could take over Equestria, Luna tried to fight it but Nightmare Moon was awakened inside her and took over. Nightmare Moon waited until Celestia came to check on her sister like she did every morning, and hid when she did, when Celestia didn't see Luna and walked onto the balcony and flew up to raise the sun for morning, Nightmare Moon stalked behind her, launching at her and stabbed her through the throat, dragging her horn down to ENSURE she killed her. Nightmare Moon was content when Celestia went limp and fell out of the sky. She raised the Moon, creating a solar eclipse and when ponies were wondering why the sun wasn't up, Twilight was panicking, she knew Nightmare Moon was back and when she found Celestia's body she knew it was over for Equestria unless she did something. Twilight collected her pupil, and got Cadance to come to Equestria quickly, using all their magic together and the will of the ponies below, she made the decision to banish Nightmare Moon to the moon for the last time, knowing Luna would never come back. When Nightmare Moon gave up her possession, knowing her chance was over, Luna was able to keep herself alive for a very short time on the moon, and knowing she would never go back down her will and magic willed away as she sobbed her eyes out, blaming herself for being so weak to let Nightmare Moon take over again, she slowly froze to death, knowing this was what she deserved. While Twilight and Cadance planned a funeral and celebration of life ceremony for Luna and Celestia, Sombra quietly murdered Shining Armor while he was alone, when Cadance heard of this news she quickly went back to her kingdom and out of pure heartbreak, she ripped her heart out to join her husband and the other princesses in the afterlife, when Twilight didn't hear from her, she went to her kingdom and found her body in her royal chamber. Sombra was almost finished, and all he had to do was get rid of Twilight, since he didn't know of Flurry Heart's existence. Twilight while grieving for the princesses and her brother, prepared a ceremony of life for them, when she was flying up to raise the sun, hoping to give some hope to the ponies below, Sombra launched an arrow made of black crystal at her, once it hit her and went through her body, the crystals began growing and piercing her skin, killing her in an instant, the ponies of Equestria were heartbroken to lose 4 of their princesses, their will and hope disappeared and Sombra took over, turning Equestria into a dull gray place. Once Flurry Heart became an adult, she fought back and used a bunch of ponies for a revolution, she killed Sombra and took over Equestria and the Crystal Kingdom, the old palace was mostly destroyed except for the throne room, but she traveled there one day feeling particularly sad, she still hadn't been able to grieve properly over her parents, aunt and the princesses. When she entered she instantly felt the presence of the princesses, and felt sad, but comforted at the same time, the princesses spoke to her willing her on and she became the sole ruler of Equestria and her kingdom.

Luna stared at the small blue ball she once called home, now just a feature in the empty sky around her. Everyone seemed to carry on just fine without her. Unlike her sister, she was sure she wouldn’t be missed. “Oh well, what’s another thousand years?” they all thought. After the death of her sister by her own hooves, Twilight Sparkle expressed that she had no choice but to banish Luna to the moon once again, not realising that without the power of the Tantabus, Luna would freeze on the unforgiving surface of the moon. Lighting up her horn for what could be the last time, she glanced back at her home once more. “Oh, sister...” her voice shaky from lack of use, too weak even to cry. “What have I done?”

Sure, she didn’t know Luna or Celestia well, as they had only arrived for her birth. The feeling and knowledge of them gone was enough to make her heart ache, just like her mother’s after her father passed. She flinched at the thought, wings curling tighter against her side. How long had it been since she thought of her father? Being a unicorn, he had no immortality, he passed not long ago, when Sombra had returned. She was forbidden to leave the castle once the third war against him began. Her father...her father was slain by that monster. Pierced through the heart with crystals. Her mother broke once the news was reached. It hadn’t even been that long since Celestia and Luna died! After the news of the war, Luna was slowly losing her mind. She had dealt with this stallion for decades, and he just wouldn’t die! Starlight’s attempts to calm the quarreling between the sisters had failed the second time. It all happened so fast, Flurry didn’t know what had happened until news reached her. Luna killed Celestia. Her own sister. Slain by the monster that she couldn’t keep hidden and buried. Flurry let out a shuddering sigh. First Celestia, then Luna, her aunt Twilight...killed as well by Sombra. Assassination during the raising of the sun. Her mother didn’t last long. Having ended her own life after the death of four ponies she loved and grew with. Flurry was left alone. She had little training. She was the solemn heir. No siblings to help her, no other royals. She was alone. To rule all of Equestria, and the Crystal Empire. Shaking off the thoughts, she looked up at the mosaic glass figures, tears slowly beginning to fall. Flurry turned and slowly walked away from the glass, her stance straightening and becoming more regal. She wouldn’t let these feelings overtake her new role. Flurry rose her wings slightly, eyes shutting as a small smile came across her face, a single tear falling. As she left, she hadn’t noticed the four silhouettes standing near their respective windows, watching her leave with smiles of hope on their faces.
