Abraham, the patriarch of all three great monotheistic religions of the world, was born in ancient Mesopotamia just after the fall of the 3rd dynasty of Ur. He traveled to Haran, in southern Turkey, and from there to Canaan, receiving the covenant blessings that God promised to him and to his seed. In this lecture, Prof. Gore traces the history of the great hero of faith, and explains the major events and venues that formed the framework for his story. Clarification: The lecturer implies that it was Abram's idea to father a child with Hagar. Not so: "So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai." Genesis 16: 2

I'm fairly certain he assumes his congregation is aware of this fact. It's obvious from even a cursory reading of Genesis. The point that he wanted to emphasize, that's not so obvious, is that doing so falls in line with the customs of the people living in Canaan at that time and therefore not so farfetched or unusual for Sarah to suggest such.

By other Christian traditions, Prof. Gore, perhaps you mean Catholics? We don’t go to “lesser deities” when we pray to Mary and other saints. We don’t worship them. We ask for their prayers, we learn from them, we emulate them, but to worship them is idolatry. They are not minor gods and goddesses. We also approach God directly and do not need bridges other than Jesus. Going to Mary and the saints is like going to a loved one, asking them who are already in heaven to pray for us out of their love for Jesus and for us. We all belong to the body of Christ, after all. It’s just the same as asking a friend to pray for you. I enjoy your lectures. Thank you very much!

Why do you go to a priest to be absolved of your sins, when rather in 2nd Corinthians 5:7-21, St Paul states that God is not counting sins against man. If Mary is not elevated to a God status she is denoted as having divine quality per catholic belief of assumption into heaven, perpetual virginity, immaculate conception, and being the CO mediatrix/redemptrix. All of these added qualities are not only not biblical, but they actually diminish the Glory of the Cross, by elevating and deifying a person. Yes Mary is an idol!

I was raised very Christian and the biblical stories. Yet as an adult I have learned many things not taught in church ... The alternate stories this man is giving. I am deeply impressed that he is doing this. HOWEVER, he tends to easily dismiss the more ancient texts as mythology and the biblical text as fact. If his 'students' are not actually reading the Bible for themselves then they will believe his view without question. For one example is that the pharoah took Sara because she was beautiful/different and it was not for covenant/agreement between Abraham and pharoah but rather Abraham fearing that the Pharoah would kill him. After pharoah is plagued by God over it, he gives back Sara AND gives Abraham a ton of stuff making him wealthy. The Bible also confers that pharoah did not have sex with Sara but she is mysteriously pregnant soon after her return (God's gift to Abraham as explained). This is the whole basis of the Hebrew (Jews) believing they are the chosen through Isaac and entitled to lands from God. While others may believe it was through Ishmael, the first born of Abraham through his handmaiden. The 'twelve tribes' thing could have come through Ishmael who had 12 son's, but we are told it comes through Isaac who had Jacob (& Esau, as twins) where Jacob had 12 son's. But so did Esau. And Jacob 'stole' the birthright, so how Christian was that? I mean you really have to read the stories to see the actual 'evil' (or selfishness) of the characters vs the lollipop way these stories are taught in church. Most important to my point is that if you actually read the more ancient story on Enki & Enlil, you would clearly see the similarity of Enki being the first born of An but by a handmaiden while Enlil was second son but by Goddess (pure wife). You will see the extreme jealousy between the two as with Ishmael/Issac and Esau/Jacob stories. If you heard the other lectures then you heard the extreme similarity of Noah vs Utnapishm and Moses vs Hammurabi. So this man has said that people will say "see.. proof the Bible is factual" OR "see..the Hebrews stole these stories" so Bible is fake. I believe that these things happened, making Bible close to real, but that the Hebrews (who were nomads for the most part and land stealers during other parts and even slaves at times) gathered many stories from many peoples and claimed them for themselves to have some form of importance or self-worth as a people. There is far more proof that this is the case then is all the other ancient cultures archaeological facts are wrong. I would wish everyone would do their own reading/research and not depend on others to tell them how to think - as they leave out crucial facts to fit their own narrative or belief. Also, you should read the dead sea scrolls, the book of Enoch, and the Emerald tablets of Thoth.

Please, Mr Gore, can you read this and let me know what you think? I would be very grateful. I believe, the important question about Isaac's sacrifice is: Did the antedeluvian patriarchs, and consequently Abraham who was taught by Shem, understand of the need for an Ultimate Sacrifice that would restore humaninty to God? I believe they did, right from what God said about the One who would be bruised by the snake, by what God had told Cain of his need to offer the proper blood sacrifice and by the fact that all of the patriarchs had to offer blood sacrifices. They knew and they were waiting for that Ultimate Sacrifice, which they knew that He would be the Seed of a woman. Therefore, most probably, Abraham thought that his God given son could very well be that anticipated Sacrifice. In addition, God asked Abraham to offer his son as an "olah", and this is the second time that this word appears in the Bible, the first being when Noah offered an olah (a burnt offering). With Noah's olah, humanity was again connected with God through a new covenant, so this second olah could be the sacrifice that would again reconcile man with God. If that were the case, it can explain the fact that Abraham seemed to be "prepared" for that sacrifice, and that he did not argue or doubt about the true God who he knew that, unlike the pagan demons, did not ask for human sacrifices. And, to my understanding, that is why God made him the father of Israel, of all the believers and of the Messiah. He was willing to go through the ultimate pain for the restoration/salvation of all men. But then, God showed him that HE would do that sacrifice, HE would go through that pain. And of course, that also explains why Isaac consented to be tied on the altar to be sacrificed. Undoubltly, those early patriarchs knew much more than we do, and much more than what we think they knew. Besides, they were taught by Adam, who prior to the Fall could walk and talk with God and see Him face to face, and know Him much better. And they were also taught by Enoch, who also walked with God and knew about the Messiah/Jesus and had even seen His second coming, as Jude wrote, which also explains why Abraham had faith that he would receive his son from the dead.

Interesting questions
@TheDocumentary1234
@TheDocumentary1234 4 жыл бұрын
@@jameschandler4276 I am glad you've found my questions interesting. You see, I was always puzzled and wondered why Abraham did not doubt whether it was indeed God who spoke to him, when he was asked to do something that God detested. And then, I wondered if it would ever be possible for the Holy One to test a man by asking him to commit an abomination. God does not deceive people. And then Isaac, who was a young adult, not a young child as he is often pictured, he also accepted to be sacrificed. I imagine that if he were a child, he would be afraid and Abraham would have to bind him by force, and that would be a mess and not a sacrifice unto the Lord. The Jews say that Isaac was 37, because the next event mentioned in the Bible is Sarah's death, when Isaac would be 37. But given the fact that they also say that Isaac did not return with Abraham but stayed for some years on Mount Moriah with Shem/Melchizedek, the king of Salem, and was taught by him, then he could have very well been around the age of the Messiah when He was sacrificed. It was the perfect sacrifice, only God showed that He would not ask that sacrifice from any humans, He would eventually do it Himself. Both Abraham and Isaac must have known of the sacrifice that would atone humanity and thinking that they were the ones to do it, they were willing to pay the price. Let us also not forget that God had told Abraham that through his seed all nations would be blessed. Another thing is that in the Letter to Hebrews, where the writer explains the mystery of the Messiah hidden in the Temple sacrifices and rituals, he concludes by talking about faith and says that Abel offered a better sacrifice than Cain, by faith. Faith in what? Those days, being the only human family, they obviously believed in the existence of God their Creator, and given the content of the Hebrews, we can understand that Cain had failed to understand his need for an atoning sacrifice, and thus he offered gifts to God, and not a blood sacrifice to cover himself. Isn't this what we are all called to believe, to the existence of God and to the atoning sacrifice that will save us from eternal death? I believe that this is also the test of faith that Abraham passed, believing in God's promise of atonement through the sacrifice of the promised Seed. My study of the Creation and my consequent acceptance of the literal Biblical account helped me understand that Jesus was present from the beginning, and all human beings, from Adam to the last man of this world can be saved by knowing and accepting Him. God has never left humanity without Jesus' atoning sacrifice. In our history it took place 2,000 ago, but in God's reality -with no past, present or future- it was always there. That is why I have come to this conclusion about Isaac's sacrifice. Jesus said that Abraham had seen His days and rejoiced. (Sorry, about this lengthy reply, I hope that at least it is comprehensible! Blessings.)
@TheDocumentary1234
@TheDocumentary1234 Жыл бұрын
@A Baker Thank you for your reply! I know my comments were a bit long and maybe that's why the confusion. Of course I didn't refer to Abraham's family as the only family on earth, I was talking about Adam's family, trying to make my point that the ante-deluvian patriarchs knew about the sacrifice of a coming redeemer and so Abraham could have known also, through Shem. I was arguing on the basis of Hebrews 11 where we read that by faith Abel offered a better sacrifice than Cain. So what could Cain's lack of faith be? Could he not believe in the existence of the One God, the Creator? I doubt it, given the reality around him (thus, the reference to being the only humans around), and what he had known from his parents. Again, according to Heberws 11, v1, "faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report". So, what could those "things hoped for" be for that first family,? Could it be something other than the hope for the coming Seed who would crash the devil? Their hope for their reconciliation and restoration with God? That's why I conclude that they knew about the Messiah's sacrifice and the fact that they offered blood sacrifices was a constant declaration of their faith in that, and also of the acceptance of their need for deliverance from their sin and their mortal state. God told Abraham that through his seed all nations will be blessed, and the he told him to offer this seed as an olah (a burnt offering) and he readily agreed. Why? I assume that he knew that the atonement of humanity would come through the sacrifice of a man.

Just an opinion: Perhaps Abraham was well aware that God would not allow him to go through with the sacrifice. He told Isaac that God would provide the sacrifice, maybe as though he expected some substitute to be provided.

Watch AnswersinGenesis and isgenesishistory as they describe in full detail the environment of the early civilizations and in Eden which makes sense for man to live so long. Check them out on KZfaq watch their documentary on Eden environment If you notice in the Bible the lifespan shortens very quick as you go through it which is also centuries going by until you reach New Testament era which then is shorter. But no early Old Testament era people lived very long and were tall, stronger and very intelligent. Unlike macroevolution which says man were dumb animals and savages during that time which contradicts the archaeological evidence of the inventions and thought of the early people. These people had knowledge that would now be forever lost.

Angie Moore, one could agree nicely, but then why did the people in surrounding cultures, at the same period in history, live more “normal” lifespans? It’s more probable that Israel had its own calendar of life years, or that perhaps more likely yet that the 5th century scholars who actually wrote the stories, exaggerated ages to make a religious point of God’s blessing ancient Israelites.

Great lecture Bruce. Do you think Abraham spoke Aramean? Deuteronomy 26:5 says he was an Aramean but my research shows that there are no signs of Aramean being spoken before the 11th century, at least that we know of. I tend to side with the Bible however the timing on this one seems way off and I wonder if the people dating artifacts really know what they are doing of if perhaps Aramean was more oral for a long time since they were semi-nomadic. A lack of evidence is often used as an argument from silence, which isn't always fallacious but not always useful either. I was discussing with a friend recently that Abraham most likely spoke Akkadian but now that I see he was living in a time where there was no dominant kingdom in Mesopotamia I'm not sure. I suppose Aramean could have existed in the 19th century BC? Well, then there's the argument that Abraham was only called an Aramean because that was the common term for semi-nomadic people in that region when the book of Deuteronomy was purported to have been written (the 7th century). I'm guessing he was multilingual. He did, after all, have a conversation with the Pharaoh. I read that Egypt and Assyria had close political ties in the ancient near eastern iron age but I don't know about an entire millennium before that.

To be honest, we have to mention that Abraham had 2 wives and 2 concubines and a lot of children. Was not in danger to have no heir. Sarah gave birth to Isaac when she was 90 years old and Abraham was 100 years old. Sarah died at the age of 127 years. According to some historians Isaac was 25 years old when was taken for sacrifice. Abraham got married with Chetura who gave birth 6 sons. It is true that people from Canaan used to practice children sacrifice but Abraham was coming from Ur (Chaldea) where such a habit was not mentioned so far in archeological works. So, in a short period Abraham borrowed some habits from the populations with whom was in contact.

We should not forget that God is omniscient and knoweth all things - past, present and future. In fact God provisioned for Man's atonement even before He set out to create anything - that's why the Lamb was slain (God's decree and it's fulfillment at the appointed time).

The nutrition was BETTER because earth was more intact back then. It's been deteriorating, and everything's been getting smaller. The people knew about natural healthcare, they had learnt a lot of wisdom from the fallen angels before the flood. Some research showed that animals were larger because even the air quality was better. I think if you google it you'll find it. I think it's important to remember that the entire world's culture was not like Europe, things were different everywhere. Early europeans ended up not knowing about many things (for an unknown reason) but that doesn't mean everyone else was living that way.

I can’t believe that you didn’t know that Isaac was supposedly 37 years old, at the time of the binding upon the alter. He wasn’t “12 or thirteen”, as often depicted in films. You can deduce the age, by the reference to Sarah’s death, since she was 90 when she became pregnant and/or delivered Isaac and was 127 when she died, at the same time that Abraham was offering up their only son, the one they love, Isaac. Isaac was fully aware of his father’s intentions and was fully compliant in asking his father to bind him, in case he might instinctively resist, according to tradition.

Hello Orpheus and Eurydice who got into the bible. Ur of the Chaldees" where is that situated? "Ur" is the Hebrew word for light. "Chaldees is derived from Chesed, who is mentioned in order to derive from him the origin of the Chaldees" (Gesenius Heb. Lex., p. 490). This is a way the ancients had of making nations. All they had to do was but to speak the word, and, presto, a nation would come up quick as thought (this goes back to the son/sun of Neith of Sais Egypt). Chesed was, it is said, the son of Nahor (Winter aka Sagittarius - Pisces). Chesed is literally, one who cuts = a divider. In this sense, it may have reference to the spring equinox, which divides winter from summer. Thus, we arrive at what may be deemed the true meaning of "Ur of the Chaldees." "It is a city of upper Mesopotamia," i.e., it is a city of the division of light, and is located at the spring equinox, exactly where "God divided (Hebrew bara) between the light and between the darkness" (Gen. 1:1). It is the East, the Orient, the Urim et Thumim, or the true light- the light par excellence, i.e., the equinoctial Sun of spring. Here, then, at "Ur of the Chaldees," at the spring equinox, or at the beginning of the year, Abram (the summer Sun), with his relations, sat out upon his annual round. "Ur of the Chaldees was called Urphi and Orphi." Orpheus, by which name we are to understand Cadmus and the Cadmeans," i.e., the East. The English translators lied when they used the word “create” or “creation.” The correct translation of the Hebrew word “bara,” is to divide, to separate, to cut apart, or the renew. Renewal of plant growth takes place during spring and this is also the season of the Holy Spirit (warm wind) remove your sandals the land is holy (warm). The cold winter winds (black raven) is reformed and becomes the warm winds (white dove). This is where the dove of Juno (Air) finds the olive branch (peace). Raven, a non migratory bird is a dirty birdie. Doves, migratory bird, is a clean birdie. Don't forget that Zipporah (wife of Moses) is a singing birdie and she is clean as a whistle. Yes, she is also the Virgin in the skies and mother of all the gods and her only son is the sun.

If you are MUSLIM, you will recognize the sacrifice of Abraham annually at EID al ADHA. The great significance of Eid al AdHa however is usually lost on Muslims. They see it as a single event, rather than a series of blood sacrifices done by all the naby in the Bible. For example, we know from the Law of Moses (Haqm min Musa), that blood was required for atonement for sin (Leviticus 17:11). God required blood for sin, but accepted a substitute. There were many prophesies of a final sacrifice for sin, including ones that it would be God himself. This is why Christians accept Jesus' death on the cross as paying for us. And so, dear Muslim, did you consider where the blood sacrifice for sin is in Islam? Jews and Christians had it, as you might have seen pictures of naby with altars and crosses. If Allah is the same as Jehovah, his character would also require sacrifice. What would happen to the son of Abraham if they did not accept the substitute that Allah provided? The son would perish. What would happen to us if we do not accept the substitute Allah provides, Jesus, the Lamb of God? We too will perish, eternally.

I mean you have a point, but it also depends (a little bit) on the difference between half-siblings and full siblings. I don't know if Hatshepsut married her FULL brother or a half-brother. Abraham married his half-sister. In those times and even now, when a man is with multiple women, each woman would live in a separate place with her children. So depending on the upbringing, half-siblings might barely even know each other, or might interact more like cousins. But yes most people today would be grossed out by full siblings. However especially at the beginning from Adam, it seems that full siblings married one another for generations until there were enough people to branch out.

He mentioned that Abraham's father made the decision to move to Harran due to the large migration of the time and Harran being a center of commerce. This is in direct contradiction to Acts 7:2-4, that says Abraham left Ur due to receiving a visitation from God(Stephen's speech). He claims 3 angels appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18, this seems to directly contradict the scripture that clearly states one of those 3 beings was YHWH Himself. Lastly he claimed Sarah was within child bearing age but had not had children up to that point due to barrenness which directly contradicts Hebrews 11:11 ("By faith Sarah, who was past childbearing age".)

What is the meaning of Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac after waiting so long for him to be born? Here’s the answer: 1. Abraham by conqueror rights claimed the borders of Israel. The Hittites said he was a great prince among them. 2. The long wait for Isaac to be born indicated the long wait for Jesus to come. 3. God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac to prove his faith, but also to display an acted out event that would occur in future. 4. Abraham was the actor representing God. Isaac was the actor representing Jesus. God said now I know you would sacrifice your son, your only son, just as God would sacrifice his only son, Jesus. Moses wrote this about 1600 years before it happened. 5. When Isaac got up off the altar alive, it pictured the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 6. This play was acted out 3 days away on top of Mt Moriah. Just as Jesus would be resurrected 3 days after his death on Mt Moriah, the place where Jerusalem was built. 7. God told Abimelech that Abraham was a prophet. He foretold the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, Genesis 20:7. The ram caught in the thicket was a young male and wore the crown of thorns, the typology of the Messiah, all the animal sacrifices from that point represented, until the Son of God could come.

@@GoreBruce Ancient Mesopotamia. Before Babylon. 2000BC though. That's as far before Christ as he came before us. It fascinates me that much of what people know and accept as absolute truth comes from the broken and scattered bones of a society. Conformational bias from single sources and sometimes even a line from a fragmented scroll are extrapolated from a modern mindset into the imagination of the public. (not necessarily in this case, Ur is a special site, but certainly much from this time period beyond the Achaemenid period) Yet when you have a Books upon books in the Bible written on the time period and how they viewed the world, whether you believe it or not, and it is discredited out of spite and it is very often omitted from historical inquiry. I cant tell you how many times I have tried to learn about Mesopotamian culture and not Once has anybody mentioned Abraham and the political climate he encounters. This lecture was great and really helps paint part of the picture of our past. I understand that the writings are not first hand accounts and faith comes into account if you are to swallow every letter whole. But even for the skeptics, the bible is a fascinating read to understand the way ancient people interacted and conducted themselves within their world. They were just as intimate and intelligent as we are today. Nay, more so. They were more connected with necessities of life and were not afforded many comforts that we have today which dull our senses and distract us from truth and self improvement. Humans haven't changed or become more advanced. we just stand on the shoulders of what has been built in past generations and measure our greatness against them compared to how far one can see. Initially it was named the "Dynasty of the Country of the Sea" with Sealand later becoming customary. The dynasty, which had broken free of the short lived, and by this time crumbling Old Babylonian Empire, was named for the province in the far south of Mesopotamia, a swampy region bereft of large settlements which gradually expanded southwards with the silting up of the mouths of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers (the region known as mat Kaldi "Chaldaea" in the Iron Age). Chaldea is first mentioned in the annals of the Assyrian king Ashurnasirpal II (reigned 884/883-859 BC), though earlier documents referred to the same area as the “Sealand.” In 850 Shalmaneser III of Assyria raided Chaldea and reached the Persian Gulf, which he called the “Sea of Kaldu.” These are the Chaldeans mentions in the Bible, who were always there in south Mesopotamia, inhabiting the area, with their dynasties (like the Kassites, and Chaldean dynasty), fighting for control of Sumer from the Cushite Akkadians and Sumerians - Nimrod's Cushite tribes. At the end of this video Mr Gore makes a strange opposing parallel about how Prophet Abraham's seed would be spared 'sacrifice' yet Prophet Jesus as God's 'Own Son' would be not be, so as to 'spare mankind of sin' presumably by God's Son assuming all of it!! And yet, Mary is described as being of Abraham's lineage, so Jesus was no less Abraham's seed than Issac(chosen for sacrifice by according to the Bible) was, even though several generations later down the line. That concept comes across as illogical and irrational for the innumerable contradictions that creates! Where is the intelligence in it it?!! Does that mean all those humans who preceded Jesus are then not spared the burden of Sin but those subsequent to him are? If so, why? What is the justification? Why would God 'love humans' more than his Own Son? And to such an extreme extent that their evil should be excused by a cruel execution of ' His Own Son'/Image? Would that not be a failure of God? And if God is a failure in not having man take responsibility for his own sins i.e his very creation then is he really a God? An Omipotent , All-Powerful Being, All-in- Perfect Control Being? Or actually a Devil Pervert? If a human father 'sacrificed' their son, even for just anyone else let alone 'all of mankind' ,ordinarily , he would be seized by national security authorities and be placed in a maximum security (psychiatric) prison for a life term and/or state executed. That 'sacrifice' WOULD NORMALLY be considered psychotic behaviour and yet....... this Christian belief 'makes a God' out of such a psychopath?! Did not Jesus treat Mary as his mother? For she certainly gave birth to him and reared him as her own son? Does she then have no rights then to protect her child from 'sacrifice' , especially as he is innocent of the Sins of others that he is otherwise forced to assume by his God Father? Does that, by extension, then mean, that in the Christian faith, mothers have no right as to the welfare of their own children should their husbands wish to harm them or that children have no right to protect themselves against a father that may choose to harm them? By this concept , there is no distinction between good and evil deeds and thus whatever wrongs Jesus railed against were entirely futile because they would be forgiven. In other words Jesus and other vassals of God(Prophets) warnings were an entirely pointless exercise because the concept means that man can do whatever he pleases including being an atheist/agonsitc/polytheist without consequence, because God provided a 'sacrificial' Son-goat for the sins of man.

Genesis 13:1-4 1 And Abram went up OUT of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, INTO THE SOUTH. 2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. 3 And he went on his journeys from the SOUTH even to BETHEL, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; 4 Unto the place of the ALTAR, which HE HAD MAKE THERE AT FIRST: and there Abram called on the name of the Lord. Why INTO THE SOUTH (the keyword), not to the North, to Canaan/DeadSea... ??? What and where is this ALTAR he'd made previously in Bethel...??? And where is this place called BETHEL (means House/Place of God)....???? Into the South....to Bethel, SaudiArabia... Bethel...Mecca. Altar...Kaaba. Hai...modern day Ha'il...??? Between Ha'il and Bethel....is Medina..??? Abraham and Lot, peace be upon them, doing the Hajj Pilgrimage. Try guess where did Nabonidus (like Lot, having a lineage to Abraham), the LAST king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, ruling from 556 BC went to...??? Its Tayma, in SaudiArabia very near to Medina and Mecca. AlQuran 6:74-82 And when Abraham said to his father Azar (NABOCHADNEZZAR..??? More likely NABONASSAR...??? ), 'Takest thou idols for gods? I see thee, and thy people, in manifest error.' So We were showing Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and earth, that he might be of those having sure faith. When night outspread over him he saw a STAR and said, 'This is my Lord.' But when it set he said, 'I love not the setters.' When he saw the MOON rising, he said, 'This is my Lord.' But when it set he said, 'If my Lord does not guide me I shall surely be of the people gone astray.' When he saw the SUN rising, he said, 'This is my Lord; this is greater!' But when it set he said, 'O my people, surely I am quit of that you associate. I have turned my face to Him who originated the heavens and the earth, a man of pure faith; I am not of the idolaters.' ....... What about the SNAKE (Sumerian Enki, father of Marduk, father of Nabo) like symbol....its Iblis/Satan in all the Judaism/Christianity/Islamic traditions despicting the Devil. Both Abraham and Nabonidus rejected them all. (Enlil & Enki families. This is pure speculation on my part. Only God Knows). Now you know what Nabonidus, like Abraham, was trying to say about the Star, Moon, Sun (Sumerian/Akkadian/Babylonian 3 Pantheons) from the stone carving....( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ot2ph66fzcqWZpc.htmlsi=fyLWQA39qgb4r0TH ) And Nabonidus too, like Abraham and Lot, was doing the Hajj Pilgrimage. Mecca and Kaaba must be one great awesome sacred Holy Place since ancient time. Note: 1. Abraham must have lived and come from this NeoBabylonian Family Tree long before Nabonidus. 2. Pharoah respected Abraham, gave him gifts and dare not mess with him because he is the son of the NeoBabylonian king. 3. Only Muslims the world over revered and gave blessing to Abraham, pbuh, a total of 17times in their 5 daily prayers. 4. Enlil, father of Sin (Moon), father of the twin Ishtar (Star) and Shamash (Sun). 5. Enki (Snake), father of Marduk, father of Nabo.

The story of Isaac and his dad had a profound effect upon me as a child. It taught me that parents could kill their own children. Well. I had two parents so clearly they were a huge danger to me. For years of my childhood I was considered to be the most polite of children because I always waited for the adults at table to take the first bites before I would dig in. Yes, I clearly remember doing that. My parents were my TASTERS because I knew I could not trust them. Of course it became a great family story that Mary believed her parents would poison her, but I had every reason to believe it possible. After all, my Bible had the picture of Isaac on the altar and Abraham raising the knife to slaughter him - never mind the ram in the bushes. I was evident from that picture that being an animal was even more dangerous than being a human child.

Assuming "child that was promised" refers to the son Abraham was going to sacrifice, the Qur'an doesn't say it was Ishmael. The son isn't named. Many muslim scholars interpret it as Ishmael, but some say it's Isaac.

The Hebrew scriptures specifically identify Isaac (e.g., Gen. 22) and the Christian scriptures concur (Roman 9). The Qur'an identifies Ishmaal, who was indeed Abraham's first son, born to Hagar. This is an important difference between the two religions, both of which claim Abraham as 'father.'

Hagar = bondwoman, Sarah = freewoman. When we follow the child of Sarah to which is Isaac we are FREE also. Muslims, Hagar and the child Ishmael were born to bondage.

Galatians 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. Galatians 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

So this idea of the so called men of God wanting their followers to go to them for prayers is as pagan as it comes?

The Genesis 22 account of the sacrifice of Isaac has a "midrashuc" flavor to it that suggests that it may have happened in Abraham's dream rather than in actuality. The Lord often spoke to Abraham in dreams. Too many anomalies for historic narrative..

excellent ,but Mr Gore has a terrible weak point when it comes to the old testament due to the fact that the translation of the bible is often falseas the words are not exactly translated because sometimes the equivalent old hebrew/ aramaic words are not understood and those wrongly translated....furthermore Abraham didn’t leave with his father...God orders him clearly “ to leave the house of his father” and go towards the land of israel...as for Sarah being passed as the and so on..i would advice Mr Gore to study the old testament withe a real scholar dsister of Avram...again wrong interpretation the text says Sarah was so beautiful that pharaoh would have wanted her and so would kill her husband to take her.......

Love the video, but had to snicker at “that is called justification by faith alone.” James 2 makes it clear that justification by faith alone is not correct .

I only go by what scripture teaches, Judas may also have called himself Christian along with many others who are not Christians that call themselves Christian, who cares what men believe. While i do appreciate your vast knowledge and testimony for Christ you can't defend this pagan tradition made up by man, there is NO scripture to support this ritual so, i put little confidence in the ''fathers'' but they got this one right-- Rule Twenty-six: That every word and deed should be ratified by the testimony of the Holy Scripture to confirm the good and cause shame to the wicked. (Basil of Caesarea (Ad 329-379): Fathers of the Church, Vol. 9, Ascetical Works, The Morals, Rule 26 (New York: 1950) p. 106.) The hearers taught in the Scriptures ought to test what is said by teachers and accept that which agrees with the Scriptures but reject that which is foreign. (Basil, Moralia, 72:1) Gotta say--- you are one smart teacher! You teach like Kent Hovind with everyday language and on a level people can understand!

Moses got the laws straight outta Egypt where he was schooled. Those laws of the 10 commandments existed in Egypt hundreds to maybe a thousand years before Moses existed Biblically.
