apegeta looks really good in terms of offense and other utility. however he does not have enough defence in his kit. 35% to sustained dmg cut against non saiyan and son fam units is not even close enough. janemba will tear him like paper, in theory he does get more against blue and ults but janemba will just destroy him in 2-3 strike or blast cards .the issue is not only janemba. units like mvp 17, cell will hurt really bad. even gammas can rip him apart in those 3 count window of type null.

I'm guessing the strike arts damage is a way to counter enemy's arts down debuff.

Strike/Blast _Arts_ damage is actually a lot worse than just Strike/Blast damage. Strike/Blast damage factors into Special Move and Ultimate damage inflicted - albeit at halved rates. IIRC, Strike/Blast Arts damage _only_ boosts their respective cards, and factors into the same formula regular damage inflicted buffs. Having +25% Strike Arts damage inflicted and +25% Blast Arts damage inflicted is strictly worse than just having a general +25% damage inflicted buff. Strike/Blast Arts _Power_ (or Special Move/Ultimate/Awakened Arts Power) is what is calculated separately, which is why LF 17 and Pan's debuffs are so potent (and why a modern unit that buffs those by even a decent amount would do bonkers levels of damage).
