In today’s video we are doing the cheap acrylic pouring version of my open cups. It came out beautiful. This is a viewer request video I was asked to paint only using craft paints so I took it one step further to make my own medium out of Glue all and water. The results are gorgeous, I love it. The way the cells flow out of the open cup is amazing! I am going to show you how to use my method of doing this acrylic pour.

Mr. J Mo, I send you this message from my heart. I watch your videos and I must say that it brings a quiet peace to my soul. I have bought paints, canvas and many other things to get started, BUT as of yet I have not started. For some reason, I am afraid that I will mess it up. I think that it goes straight to the issues that I struggle with in life, excepting myself, my weaknesses, imperfections....maybe it sounds trivial, strange to y'all. Logically, I know what to say to myself, but lately my emotionally side is leading me. I want to thank you for opening up a bit it put a smile in my soul and brought a ray of hope to me. I forget that saying, Life imitating art or art imitating life, but I really can see how true that is. Just thinking about the fact that I am afraid to start because I will fail. Everything about painting is a mirror of my struggles. How to love yourself with everything that the LORD HAS GIVEN YOU!!! When I look at something ...what will I see first the imperfections of the painting or the complete work of art as a beautiful collage of cascading colors that put out energy of happiness...so here's to the day when I finally break the ice and pour out my soul on a canvas and NOT see that air bubble that might annoy me or will I see me and celebrate that fact that I woke up this morning and was given the gift of another day to bring happiness into the world and maybe make someone smile. Thank you for your videos, your kindness, openness and just being you!!!I hope one day to over come this difficult time in my life. With blessings to you and all of your viewers!!!

1st, I’ve got to tell you how Amazing this pour is…my goodness Those Colors ❤ 2nd, I’ve watched several of your videos and find your creations So Unique, you definitely have a beautiful gift and I’m so glad took this step and are sharing your talent with us!!! Lastly, thank you for your willingness to open up and share a little of your past hurt and trauma - I appreciate your honesty!!! Hurt, pain, loneliness, abuse can be Devastating and Scary to talk about - I Know because I’ve held mine for 43 years. I don’t think there’s anyone who hasn’t experienced something that made them feel broken and alone 😢 but there IS Hope, Love, Acceptance and Support all around, even in the most unlikely places - like when I just happened to click on an amazing purple pour with crystal rocks popping out and found this average man from Detroit created it 😊 and has touched my heart - Thank You!!!

The only positive perk of traumatic experiences in our lives is discovering that inner artist. That's how I discovered mine as well. I suffer from debilitating depression and without acrylic paint, I don't know where I would be at this point. I truly appreciate your vulnerability and willingness to share your story. Hearing it from a man, makes it all the more important to me. I enjoy watching your videos because of your artistic ability, of course, but even more because of how your voice is calming and soothing to listen to. Always and forever a fan ~ Debbie ❤🎨

I could never afford classes or the expensive products that so many beautiful artists use. Like I said I'm a fan of the cheap stuff n will tweek everything until I'm happy with the results. Most of what I've learned with acrylic pouring which I've only been doing 5 years is from watching ur videos! I have only ever used the cheap craft paints n I can say I've never had a problem using them. At 1st I had alot of cracking but ur videos helped. Thank u so much for all u have taught me!!

It's gorgeous Johnny, love the colors you chose. Those are the paints I started out with. Love the Folk Art paints the most and still use them a lot. FYI for budget hunters: Hobby Lobby has them too and usually if they are advertising their 70 to 90% clearance the craft paints might be/usually are on sale or they may have Master's Touch on clearance (regular $6.99 at $1.49 for a 4.1 oz tube). Last time I went they had Anita's craft paints (another good brand) at 73 cents for their 2 oz bottle. Folk Art was $1.17 for the 2 oz bottle. The Jot clear glue at Dollar Tree also works as a good medium. Their acrylic paints are decent too for someone just starting out and they have 8x10 canvases. Sargent Art acrylic paints at Walmart are also budget friendly, use those a lot too.

I think as artists, trauma and pain can also really help us see beauty and joy in the most mundane places. And that definitely helps when creating art. Your story is valid and can always help someone.

Radical! Such a gorgeous explosion of color! I started my fluid art journey to help me through a traumatic knee injury and the depression that ensued. I'm a very busy diy renovator and I've never been knocked out of the game before. It was devastating. Fluid art taught me so much about myself. I can appreciate wanting to keep things positive, you have to cuz theres no where to go from the bottom but up! Thank you!

I’m new to your subscription list and really feel comfortable here. Love your teaching style. I still haven’t had the courage to get my feet wet but this post has me just about there because I’ve been studying lots of artists’ videos for almost a year now and needed motivation to get started with using up my chest craft paints but still achieving something pretty. Thank you!

Very pretty! I love pouring but I am on a very limited income so I have always had to use the cheaper acrylic paints. There are many range of colors at Wal-Mart and it's good that those of us who have to watch our pennies can still have fun and cover our walls with crazy abstracts and pours! I am glad you have found this way of dealing with all the mountains and valleys of life. I use crafts along with my deep faith in God and that combination makes for a joyful life even when the bad things slam into me.

You have been successful beating the challenge given to you. Those colors together show your talent and creativity. You brought mixtures of the four colors that "dance a garden ballet." Using the flower 🌼 🌸 cookie cutters made a huge flower pattern with zillions of cells and minute changes in colors.

When I first started, all I used was craft paint. Rarely had a cracking problem, but I used them to embellish the pieces when I did. This piece is gorgeous. That green is so vibrant.

Love the end result, it's amazing. I've moved up to the more costly paints lately but still have a large collection of craft paints which I use too. I think they are generally under rated as you've just proved. Some amazing results can still be obtained even if the paint is not top notch. Thanks for this video.
