Why do these "monster" movies always end so dramatically? No matter which one I watch, I always get choked up at the end of them. Gorgo is no exception.

Cuz they are typically made with a message for the audience, which was explained pretty clearly by the reporter that mankind doesn’t control everything in this world

In 1961 everyone of us 9 year olds HAD to see GORGO. The best dino-on-the-loose movie ever made. Anyone notice the familiar face? The duo of Joe and Sam... Sam showed up only seven years later in 2001: A Space Odyssey as Dr Haywood Floyd, the sneaky NASA operative traveling to the moon and visiting the Monolith at the start, The curious fact is I actually recognized him from GORGO. A prolific guy, kept a low profile.

The actor playing Joe Ryan - William Travers - is a familiar face as well! He starred in the films, "Born Free" and "Ring of Bright Water."

To be brutally honest, first half I was thinking "Gorgo is so lame and weak, what's so great about this?" then when I learned why, it suddenly got a lot more interesting. By the third act, I was having blast. XD Good fun, wish there were more Gorgo movies.

I saw this in 1961 at Metro Chullora twin drive-in. I liked the movie but couldn’t understand why Gorgo continued pushing through the building rather than walking through the streets.
