In this exclusive interview, JD and the Gorilla Position boys chat to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis! Nick talks his 20 year journey in professional wrestling, his road to WWE, working with Triple H, interactions with Roman Reigns, is he's ready for an in-ring debut in WWE, his GM persona and how it's different to previous GMs, plus why WWE just ignore AEW when they try and take shots at the company.

Both former NWA champions. Pearce 5x & Aldis 2x. Both now general managers in WWE. Both Indy guys that have never had a match in WWE. There’s definitely a story there if they want to do something with it

I’ve said this now I’m pretty sure dating back to 2010, and it’s the fact that Nick Aldis EMBODIES what a world heavyweight champion looks, talks, and works like! Dying to finally see my boy get his chance in the ring at a Mania. He CAN draw money! He was such a quick study when he first started at Tna. They gave him a terrible gimmick at first because at the time American gladiators have been brought back to NBC television due to a writer strike (I myself played the beast character in the 2008 American gladiator launch) and I’ll never forget Dixie talking to me on the phone about, this incoming UK gladiator Nick Aldis who she said had a great success on the UK version of that show. I had the pleasure of working him in one of his very first live event matches while we were in the UK at the time. And from that evening on, this dude would come back the next time I’d get in the ring with him again, and had improved 10-fold!! Such a student of the game; he eat sleeps and drinks this business. He really is very reminiscent of Hunter. Especially the high IQ part, & the paying extra attention to the small details part, with his presentation.

Wow, it’s so cool to see wrestling peers take the time to comment and put over each other! Matt to me, you also Embody What a world champion is…Loved your work in TNA, from promos to in ring…you definitely were one of the reasons why I tuned into TNA on a weekly basis…💯💪🏽

This guy is great. So well rounded and great on screen. Looks, acts, and presents like a star. Everyone’s favorite GM, former TNA and NWA champ. Can’t wait to see him in the ring in WWE, he’s 37, so he’s in his wrestling prime and can really make for some great storylines if he’s in-ring.
