Very nice playing. You don't really see beats that combine the hi-hat and ride too often. I think those were more popular back in the fusion days. Very cool. 👊🏻🥁

SD3 is such a powerful tool and def takes some time with the learning curve, but as time goes on, the presets SD3 has made for EFNOTE kits will improve in accuracy and it's going to be an easier dial-in. Unbelievable what VST's are capable of now! And thank you for your kind words!

I have the EFNote 5x which I really love but they really need to additional more sounds to the library. That s the weakness point of this edrums. No bar chimes,lack of nice cow Bell sounds, need more snare drums sounds, more splash and china cymbales, additional stack cymbals sounds....etc that would be fantastique because the EFNote sounds really great!
@ArtesiaProNorthAmerica
@ArtesiaProNorthAmerica Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback, Skyhawkheavy, glad you're enjoying your 5X. Have you dried editing the 2 cowbells that come on the kit? They can fatten up quite a bit with tuning down and adding ambience. same with the splashes and china/FX cymbals, they can be edited and layered to make really great, diverse cymbals. I hear you about the chimes, we have them on the 3 and 3X. We've concentrated on getting all six kits to market over these last two years so we'll see what the next steps for sounds are. The NEW GOLD kit I made for this video is the first of many new custom kits in our Kit Library. I will be making more for the 5 series and 7 series. Our model is not to make the drums obsolete after a couple years so you have to buy more, it's to continue developing and evolving the kits you've purchased and scaling the company. We value your business so much, thank you!

@@ArtesiaProNorthAmerica I ve tried the layering option for the snare and it works great. I ll try this to make more divers cymbal sounds too. I used the tuning and ambience features already to divers the splash sounds. But I ll try on the cowbells too. I ll need to upgrade the firmware because at the moment the version of mine does not connect to the EFNote application on my smartphone which looks convenient to import new sounds. Therefore, I don t have the new kits like the Jazz kit available on EFNote's website. Hoping that the firmware update will not reset all the settings because I spent a lot of time on creating my kits and defining the settings to my taste. By the way, is there a way to save all our custom kits and settings? Thanks for your reply and awesome job on the soft and edrums! Take care

@@StefBelgium That's great, I hope it all works smooth for you. If it doesn't, email me at mikeb@artesia-pro.com and I'll make sure you're taken care of. As far as firmware updates, your settings will remain even in the update. Also, there is no save function, as the module saves every move live. It holds all changes. You can upload all of your kits to your app though and have them in case you need them on another EFNOTE set, like a house kit at a venue.

I just bought a 3x, I'm waiting for it to arrive. I picked up a mac book pro as I want to use SD or it's cheaper brother. Could you go into a bit more detail how you have that kit set up? Particularly the connection to the mac and any hardware/software you're using.

I have the same choke issues another user mentioned here in the comments, too - I can choke the crash and ride cymbals using the “lower choke threshold” and “single choke mode” functions in Superior Drummer 3, but I can’t choke splashes and chinas if I put those on the rims of those same cymbals, and in Superior Drummer 2, I can’t choke at all, which I could do on Roland. Aside from that, my bass drum has double-triggering issues, specifically when playing with the right foot (specifically with Superior Drummer, not so much with the built-in module sounds). Messing with the threshold, sensitivity, and/or velocity curve in the Efnote 3X drum module does not prevent this. I’ve been using the same Superior Drummer 3 preset (with layered one-shot samples on the bass drum and a Tama Speed Cobra double-bass pedal) on my old Roland TD-9 without problems. If I briefly had double-triggering issues on the Roland TD-9, the options available in the module menu allowed me to fix those. Not so for the Efnote 3X. Aside from the module, the main difference is that the Efnote 3X has a mesh-head bass drum with a beater patch, whereas the Roland TD-9 had a bass drum more reminiscent of the Efnote 3 (softer, smaller, only containing a single trigger). Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I just got a 3x kit and love it. But someone isn’t using the stock snare. I might have to do the same. Haha. It’s the one thing that’s been a bit weird so far. The 12” one just feels a little small. Works great though.

Thank you for your purchase, cmatte82 ! I was using the 14" snare and added 17" FX cymbal in this video.

Thinking about getting the 3x, I am more of a hard rock/metal type drummer and nowadays will only use the drums for practicing as I don’t play out anymore. I wanted to know what it means when it says “efnote 3x does not support the crash 1 cup when the Tim 4 is used” One of the reasons I was also looking at the Alesis Strike Pro SE is because they have the 3rd crash cymbal, would I be able to put another cymbal on the kit and is it an easy process to do if you can?
@ArtesiaProNorthAmerica
@ArtesiaProNorthAmerica Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question, Keith. like I did in this video, you can have 3 crashes, 4 toms, kick, snare and hat on the 3X. The stock 3X setup uses inputs CRASH 2 and CRASH 3 to make your second crash have 3 zones (bow, edge and cup). When you add the 3rd crash or splash or FX cymbal, you'll have three 2 zone cymbals and a 3zone ride. hope that helps. Michael

Thank you for sharing. I just bought the EFNOTE 3x and am using Superior Drummer 3. The default EFNOTE Map preset does not allow for choke on cymbals, and the hihat is also not very natural. Could you please share how you set up the mapping in Superior Drummer? Thank you very much and I look forward to your response!
@ArtesiaProNorthAmerica
@ArtesiaProNorthAmerica 8 ай бұрын
Hello @corange8604 , Sorry for the delayed response. Thank you for your purchase. The presets that Toontrack have created for EFNOTE kits are indeed not accurate. EFNOTE, nor any other drum manufacturers play any part in Toontrack's process, and they did not contact us when creating the presets. The ATV mapping that Toontrack has created is a much more accurate starting point for EFNOTE kits (pre the PRO). What I would advise is to use SD3's Learn Mode to quickly map all of your 3X's zones, then save the kit in SD3 and name it EFNOTE 3X or whatever you want to use as a template fro new kits. Our cymbals use polyphonic aftertouch for choking, and not a midi number. SD3 has in their settings, setup steps for using polyphonic aftertouch, and there are variables like mac vs PC, OS version and SD3 version that will decide which way for you to set this up. As you do it, add this to your EFNOTE template ad it will only need to be done once. SD3 is deep and has a learning curve that requires understanding the program and how it functions. The best way to access info on it is to reach out to Toontrack Support at the bottom of every FAQ page on toontrack.com . Also, youtube has videos on setting up polyphonic aftertouch with cymbals.
