Wow...2D is sweet, apparently smart because he made good grades in school, multi-talented, gets wicked migraines, has a painkiller addiction, and is constantly bullied by Murdoc. All this, and he still manages to be a good person with simple desires. He may be a fictional character, but we can all really learn something from him.

2-D is such a kind character. Murdoc's backstory makes me kind of sympathize. His mannerisms slightly remind me of Joker but I'm not sure why. Maybr because he doesn't seem phased by other's pain / suffering.

Something about the way Murdoc says "gay polar bear" at 56:16 gives me chills... Edit: Is this really all there is to the audiobook? Christ they cut out like 9/10 of the book! Not to mention that they also cut out a bunch of stuff from the stuff they DID talk about. I was reading my copy of the book along with it and couldn't help but notice they skipped entire paragraphs of text at a time... That's a shame.

I've got to say, as much as i feel bad for murdoc's past with the bullying and abandonment and stuff, that doesn't excuse the fact that hes literally kidnapped many people, ran over 2-D with a car twice and many other crimes. Still one of my favorite characters though, he's funny

Damn. Murdoc's story really hit the feels for me! Like I was crying so hard when I realized that Murdoc calls 2D faceache because he used to be called that. I think the reason that Murdoc abuses 2D is not just because he's mad about 2D being the frontman instead of him, but also because there is some obvious frustration pent up inside him from how horrible his life was... Also, I love Russel's story it's very interesting and I like how excited 2D gets when he talks about his passion for horror movies. He's so adorable!

Ugh....I hate how everyone's just repeatedly saying how poor and unlucky 2D was. Guess everyone just likes to ignore all of the shit that Murdoc went through because he isn't a pretty blue haired black eyed boy.

You know after 2d and Murdoc told the story of how noodle became member of the band I honestly expected noodle to barge in and say something like this. Because it would have been a little bit more logical. Noodle: No no, no, that is definitely not how it happened. After getting amnesia, getting stuffed into a crate, being shipped off to god knows where and after all that, being greeted by three complete strangers (one of which was so ugly it was horrifying) who were speaking what I thought at the time to be complete gibberish and having no idea who I was, where I was, and who the hell these people were, did you honestly think that I showed my incredible guitar skills and became little miss sunshine right away? Hell no! I was terrified! I thought I had been kidnapped or something! I freaked out and made for the nearest exit. The boys tried to stop me of course, but I defeated them easily with a few kicks and punches. It astonished me that I knew how to fight so well, despite failing to remember anything about my past. Anyway, I managed to get out of Kong studios and I ran for my life. I found myself to be on top of a huge hill and I ran down it as fast as I could. The hill is very steep and as I ran, I found it hard to keep my footing, but I wasn't concentrating on that much because I was so scared. The boys didn't help much because when I looked back, I saw all three of them chasing after me, which made me run even faster. Perhaps if I had understood what 'stop kid! We're not going to hurt you! Slow down or you'll fall!" meant, I might have slowed down and saved myself falling over and tumbling down rest of the hill. Keep in mind I had only started to run down the hill when I fell so by the time I reached the bottom, I was unconscious. I think my head hit a rock on the way down. When I woke up I was in what would later become my room and the first thing I saw was Russell. At first I was scared and planed to run away again but I noticed things that made me think twice. I noticed that I was not tied up or restrained in any way. So I said to myself, "hold on, if I have been kidnapped, wouldn't they have done something to stop me from getting away?" I also noticed the soothing music that was playing. I think Russell put that on in an effort to try and calm me down. But what really convinced me to stay was the nervous look on Russell's face when he offered me a bowl of noodles and tried to communicate with me for the first time. When I took the noodles, he pointed a finger at himself and said slowly and gently said "Russell" . I was confused at first but it didn't take me very long to figure out that he had told me his name. I then realised that Russell was not a monster that I should be afraid of but was in fact, a kind person who was almost as confused and as afraid as I was. I still had no idea where I was or how I got there but I decided to trust Russell and I wanted to tell him that I did but I didn't know how. I paused for a while before deciding that I was going to tell him my name in return. I didn't know what my real name was so I gave myself a new name. That name was the first thing that popped into my mind and what I thought would be easiest for Russell understand. I held up the bowl of noodles and shouted out 'Noodle' and then put the bowl of noodles down and pointed at myself. This was the moment that would bond the two of us forever. And that's what really happened but the story 2D told did have some truth in it. You might be asking, when did I become an official member of the Gorillaz? Well, that happened a few days later. At that time, auditions were talking place for the role of lead guitarist of the band. These auditions made me think more about the only thing I had with me on my journey in the crate, a guitar. I had no idea why I had it but knew there had to be a reason. I soon discovered that I could play the guitar and I was fantastic, better than all the other people and I had seen additions and I knew what I had to. I sneaked into the room where the auditions were taking place and instead of seeing the next person scheduled to bore them, Russell, 2D and Murdoc saw me. Before any of them could object, I blew them away with my skills. I think I sounded exactly the way 2D described and really did finish with a super high karate jump kick just like he said. Murdoc was overjoyed when I finished. I recall him saying "well what d'you know! After three days of listening to amateur bores, delusional, talentless cunts and tone deaf morons, the perfect guitarist was right under our noses the whole time". It was then when I became an official member of the band, not the instant I arrived. Come on! That would have been ridiculous. I'm not sure why Murdoc and 2D lied about my story like that. I think it's because they didn't want to admit they got their asses kicked by a tiny, little girl but they can't hide the truth. In fact, I added this to the final draft of the book just days before Murdoc plans to send it off to be published. I hope he doesn't think to check it first or you may never see this. By the way, you know how 2D's front teeth are missing? Well, he didn't lose them due to his childhood injury or the other two accidents he suffered at the hands of Murdoc and his awful driving. He actually lost those teeth when I kicked him in the mouth and as for Murdoc, I was the one who broke his nose for the eighth time, not Russell. If this makes it into the book, I can imagine that Murdoc and 2D will be very embarrassed but that serves them right.
