Goris is a city with a population of about 20 thousand people in the south of Armenia. It is located in the Syunik region and has a very ancient history.
I went there and I met with the local guide - Mikael. He showed me all the most interesting sights - Old Goris, the churches of St. Hripsime and St. Gregory the Illuminator, a panoramic view, the house-museum of Axel Bakunts and much more.
I also talked to the locals, learned what a "barkash" is and why the city has preserved the architecture of the 19th century.
I highly recommend you to visit one of the most mysterious cities in Armenia.
