Oh, Michael B....OMG...this SONG! To this day, the chorus is oft-quoted in my house...and for the love of God, I have absolutely NO IDEA why!! It is still a catchy jam. Lead singer still reminds me of Jeff Keith of Tesla a little bit. I can't believe you have never heard this...it was in heavy rotation on MTV for quite a while in 1989. And oh the memories with parachute pants...I had a couple of pair myself and loved them!

I loved them. I live in Alaska and we always had this ‘Sister City’ thing here In Juneau with Vladivostok. Also had several exchange students I was friends with that came from Vladivostok. I liked sharing music back and forth with the people I spent time with - my whole life - and I often made friends with exchange students over years. I just really liked to hear about where they came from and what it was like for them there and how it was different here. So many Interesting people out there in the world with Interesting lives and perspectives and experiences. It’s still something I love about people - is getting to hear about whatever place or culture they lived in through their lives and the new perspectives I can get a glimpse of when they tell me about it. I am still a fan of Gorky Parks music although I am sad to say I didn’t get a chance to keep up with them after that album but now with the internet and all - maybe they had more. I hope so. I am looking. ❤

This song was a celebratory song for the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. As you can see, they were still using the Soviet flag there. The Soviet Union didn't officially collapse until Dec 1991, so 31 years ago now... and they didn't start using the White, Blue, & Red striped flag until then.

I met these guys at the Tower Records in Nashville when they were touring on the second album. I saw them live then, but don't remember what the venue was. They were decent but I think the glam aspects didn't help them any. It was right about the time grunge was going to cap off this era.

Greetings from Russia. This band is actually the worst one from the Soviet era. But I think You could've listened to the Soviet band called Kredo (Кредо - платим за все in Russian; just copy and paste those words) - pretty interesting band for its time that played symphonic power metal.
