Жыл бұрынThe second trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has arrived, and Marvel fans finally have their first look at Christian Bale's villain, Gorr the God Butcher. This deadly serial killer hunts gods, and it's going to take an alliance between two thunder gods to bring him down.
Gorr is a relatively recent addition to the Marvel Comics universe, but he's a villain who's had a profound imapct on Thor's life. Let's take a closer look at Gorr's comic book history, including his powers and his trademark weapon, All-Black the Necrosword. We also explore how Gorr may fit into the plot of Love and Thunder and why Jane Foster may be the key to defeating the God Butcher.
Thor: Love and Thunder also stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as King Valkyrie, Taika Waititi as Korg and Russell Crowe as Zeus. The film opens in theaters on July 8, 2022.

my favorite thing about Gorr in the comics is how influential he is upon Thor for years after Gorr was defeated, the fragment of crippling self doubt “what if Gorr was Right” was planted in Thor’s head his staying power is that his philosophy fundamentally affected Thor

What pains me is that the sword in the trailer looks like a regular sword and his robes are white.. They better be hiding the true symbiote nature of his powers until the actual release. That ounce of venom left on Earth cannot be for nothing

They already showed the ebony blade in Eternals (wich is related to All-Black the necro sword). And if Sony ever wants to use Knull, they will need the MCU to show the cosmic origin and scale the character has. Make him just appear in a Venom movie without all the weight and influence he has on the rest of that universe would be mistake. He deserves to be feared right out of the gate.

Knull, All-Black, and the King in Black series, are heavily tied to Venom which is currently tied to Sony, which means we're probably not gonna see Gorr using any Symbiotes powers in the film.

The reason why the creators want to show christian Bale's design as very different to the comics because the talent fee would be on to waste if they don't show Bale's face. Well, it takes time to accept actors portraying heroic characters prior has moved on to portray another or even contrary from the character/s they've known for. To cite few: Michael Keaton (from Tim Burton's Batman to MCU's Vulture) Michelle Pfeiffer (from Tim Burton's Catwoman to MCU's Janet van Dyne) Now, Christian Bale. Imo the original design with no nose would involve a level of makeup / prosthetics / or CGI that would detract from Bale's performance as we won't be able to see alot of his micro expressions. Agree on the more black though but that might be to make him stand out more in the Black and white colored areas

Thank you nobody else understands this or have read and looked at the comics. Have low hopes they’ll nail gorr right. In fact this movie should be in two parts to come even close to the comics beautiful story told.

If they would’ve taken off his nose like Harry Potter’s main antagonist he would’ve seen much more intimidating than he looks now. Regardless, I’m excited to see Christian Bale’s performance!
