Historic Goslar, Germany is supposed to be one of the best day trips from Hannover in Lower Saxony. It's famous for the Rammelsberg Mine, stunning architecture, and that it's home to a famous sour German Beer, called Gose. good travel Tips for Goslar. The Kaiserpfalz is not really that interesting inside, as the building was a Ruin, when in the 19th Century it was "restored", but not the original but rather an idealised example of what a Kaiserpfalz should look like. The main room is an assembly hall with paintings from the 1870s, a bit kitschig. At the same time the beautiful romanesque Church near the Kaiserpfalz was pretty much torn down, as it was in a bad shape. You did not mention seeing the Hospital "Heiliggeist" which is original and most interesting, showing how things in the Medieval period actually looked like. I find the large City Gates (Towers) also interesting. Now I will keep an eye out for a baby blue stroller on the Lister Meile...and will perhaps disturb you with an introduction. Ha I enjoy your videos quite a bit.

There is a little game with the numbers on the little liquor bottles. The one with the lowest (sometimes highest) number loses and has to order the next round.

@@MYTravelBF I have unfortunately never been to Goslar! Only driven by to go to the Harz. But I See now that I do need to visit and I will certainly be looking for that! LOL

It was pretty good, but not our favorite beer. It was worth a try, but we're not running out to get more anytime soon.

Goslar is not easy. They have problems there with a toxic environment up to today. Because of that many people leave the Goslar area.

@@klauskleber5154But this is only a minor problem in the city destrict named "Oker". Goslar has more a political problem: After the closure of the Rammelsberg mine and the smelting facilities in the Oker city district, no attention was paid to new bigger industry. There was also no effort made to make the town a university town. the city politics only looked at administration and tourism. The first one is not productive and tourism has more and more collapsed. Goslar also had several barracks. The Federal Border Guard, a large Bundeswehr battalion and a French military barracks. These were also abandoned after the fall of the inner-German border and the jobs disappeared. I lived in Goslar for 21 years as a child and teenager. It was a busy, "young" city. Unfortunately, the city have now become a pensioner home. Very sad!

I grew up in the area and moved back here some years ago. I do not know a single person moving away because of environmental problems. Problems here are not bigger than in any other region of Germany I have lived in. Go on any day of the week to the Weihnachtswald (part of the Christmas Market) and try to tell me Goslar is lacking tourists. This counts for midsummer as well. Just try to get a outside seat in one of the cafés on market place. 😂
